The toilet was disgusting. I’ve never used a toilet that dirt. Every time i used it was gross, wet, walls look like haven’t been cleaned for a while. In the main room there is a terrace where people spend the day smoking. Because the door is always open, for a non-smoking person is impossible to endure the smell in the only shared space. Actually even in the first floor the smell was all around. The rooms are small and there is not enough space for luggage or to open it.

❌❌❌Dangerous Managers❌❌❌ I had the worst experience ever, they have stolen my laptop and my camera GoPro10 from my room when I was out. When I informed the reception, there were 2 guys managers, one tall and one with mustache, both Turkish. they told me this is not possible, surely I didn’t leave them in the room and I lost them somewhere else, they said “in their hostel, it’s more safe than my home!” I was by my self and I didn’t expect 2 men responsable about that place to behave with a foreign lady with that unexpected way, they reacted in a very aggressive way, they were not taking me seriously and they refused when I asked them to check the cameras, pretending that it s not working !! I had all my work in my laptop, I lost everything.. I had to run between police to police, i was explaining what happened with google translate, because they only could understand Turkish. they barely accepted to send 2 police men with me to the hostel, there was another guy shifting, his name is Burak, and suddenly he informed the police that all cameras are working except the one which is in my floor next to my room door! GOD is there and haram money does not last. I could never imagine that this could happen in a place where all reviews were good but the reality is full of band of thieves managers.

This is a disgusting hostel, the photos are not true, all the walls are shabby, moldy, the room is unbreathable, dark and small space, the bathroom is dirty, the lockers for storing personal belongings do not look secure. I paid for the bed, but when I entered the room, I realized that I did not want to stay here, but the administrator refused to return my money to me. I do not recommend this hostel!

Beware - Suspected Scam Alert! I fell victim to a potential scam at Stay Inn Taksim Hostel. After receiving a confirmed booking, the hostel tried to convince me to upgrade my room, which I accepted then they surprisingly canceled my accommodation in there hostel, citing vague "security reasons." It became apparent that they intended to sell my reservation to another guest, leaving me without accommodation during my trip to İstanbul. The lack of accountability and their apparent profit-driven tactics raise serious concerns. Exercise caution when dealing with this establishment.

I had a really nice time at the Hostel. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. It’s a really nice location, very central. The hostel has the cutest lounge area where people can chill or do work and you end up making friends with other guests. Orkun works there and he really went above and beyond to help me with everything, he’s such a lovely person ! Definitely recommend staying here ❤️❤️

It is my second time to stay in this hostel. It is closer to major touristic attractions as it is very easy to access transportation. There are good food places near by and if you are party animal , there are clubs in your vicinity. Ulas was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place!

This is a no-frills hostel that is meant to get some good shut-eye. If you don't care about free breakfast, group activities, and socialisation, you have found the right place. This hostel got many good traits that are worth considering: - Nearest tram station, Tophane, 15 minutes walk - Nearest metro station, Sishane @ Istikal Caddesi, 10 minutes walk - Super close to Istikal Caddesi, 5 minutes walk. Suitable for shopping or just a nice stroll - Durumdaze, 2 minutes walk just down the street. This is the best doner kebab shop approved by the late Anthony Bourdain However, there are also some things to consider: - No elevator, travellers with bulky luggage may struggle going up and down the narrow staircase - Only one shower and toilet per floor. The toilet and shower are in the same room. If someone is taking a shower, you cannot use the toilet and vice versa. - The toilet is clean but it could use some repair - Small rooms so there's not much space to put your things - The hostel is near bars and restaurants, you can hear the noise outside way past midnight Nevertheless, I had a peaceful and pleasant stay at this hostel. I would still recommend it. If you are strolling along Istikal Caddesi, beware of strange men inviting you for a drink. These men are to scam you and force you to pay thousands of lira. I met 10+ of these men during my stay here. It's insane. The hostel warned its customers about this scam, and I appreciate the kind gesture.

The Stay Inn was brilliant, the location was perfection, close to the metro and Hava bus for airport runs. It was close to all of the night life and good Turkish food was easy to find. It was super clean, the beds were cosy and comfy and the common room was very social. The staff were incredible, the guys were super helpful with their recommendations and spent time socializing and explaining Turkish way of life, especially Deniz. No question was too much and there was always tea available! Could not recommend more❤️

I am an Australian travelling around the world and have stayed at many hostels. This is by far one of the best I’ve stayed and with great service and facilities. It’s easy to get caught up in what’s the best options for staying in a major city, but for great people, location, and accomodation I have ended up extending my stay here 3 times. Barak was amazing and was so inviting to ensure my stay was pleasant and allowed me to feel immediately comfortable. Absolute legend 🤙

Had a very good experience at this hostel. First of all I landed at late night and the reception allowed me to self check-in. I really liked the common space, Wi-Fi is very fast and reliable if you need to get some work done. Another good point, drinking water is offered by the hostel. Dorms are tiny but beds have curtains, 2 power sockets, a light and a very spacious locker. In the end, I would stay there again 👌

I never got the opportunity to stay at this hostel as I received a rather passive aggressive email from the manager requesting that 'they will not host me and ask my to cancel my existing reservation'. This email was sent as I allegedly didn't inform them of my changed stay dates, which is absolutely preposterous as I spoke to office staff about this very topic. Istanbul is a big city, highly recommend doing whatever you can to avoid staying here. After having read some of these other reviews, it would appear that there is a clear problem with the way this hostel is managed.

We stayed here for a week. The location is great if you want to be close to the Taksim Square and Istiklal street, but know that it will be noisy at night. The rooms are neat, beds are comfy, and a shared bathroom is very clean - everything is like you see in the pictures. There is a beautiful terrace on the 4th floor and you can relax there in the morning or at night. Staff was really helpful. They assisted us in prolonging our stay because we first booked only 4 nights, but we liked the hostel so we stayed a bit more. This hostel is really a cozy place from which you can easily reach basically any point in Istanbul. We're definitely staying here again. 😊

First time stayed in the hostel,when I saw the beds was so close together,I was Almost getting heat attack,want to move out asap ,but after one night ,I get used to it and it’s quit clean and tidy ,it’s the shared bathroom ,it was very difficult for me who I need to go to bathroom during the night,at the end I transferred to another room which there was bathroom inside ,that was so much better. Btw I wasn’t know I booked the mixed bedroom,I was super concerned at the first night as I am a girl.overall ,it’s the good experience and I will do hostel for my future trip. Another thing is the staff are super friendly and helpful.

Rooms are too small - bathroom is tiny, right next to the bed, there is mold, the sink was leaking and the toilet was broken. The floor was also unclean with hair and dirt. There is only a curtain to divide the toilet/shower with the rest of the room - very little privacy.

I really enjoyed my stay at Stay in Taksim! It was my first time in Turkey and Istanbul and Deniz made me feel very welcome when I arrived at the hostel. Throughout my stay everyone from the staff was super supportive and helped me with any questions I had. The location is great, it’s really easy to commute everywhere from this location. It’s definitely noisy though, as taksim is a party area in Istanbul. Rooms are decent.

It was a truly terrifying experience. Dirty, noisy and the owner has very dirty personality. everything device is broken here. The toilet is broken and the water runs out. The smell is foul. Hairdryer doesn't work. Room lights don't work either

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are fairly sparse but okay for the value, shared bathrooms were a bit of a mess. Steep stairs and no elevator. Location is great and very walkable to restaurants and public transport to other parts of city, however is near to a very loud nightclub.

They told me price 25% bigger than it was on the site. The administrator was sitting and discussing me with his friend. I told them it was not polite. When I went to sit outside, he came and closed the terrace at 23:44 (he said he would close it at 12) right in front of me and the door blocked the exit for me, rudely he told me to get out (he was still holding the door closed, not opening it and I could not get out) or he would call the police. I called police myself, they opened the door and let me out, I stayed there for the night. Don’t come here, inadequate rude administrators.

Hostel is at a really nice location, very easy to get to and close to multiple attractions. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Price is reasonable for what you get. I have met really nice people thanks to my stay here. But the best part of the hostel is the people working there. They are so proffesional and kind. They were really helpful with everything all throughout my stay. Thank you<3

I stayed here for 2 nights and had a good experience. The dorm for 2 women is a bit small but clean. The staff is super nice and helped me to bring up my luggage (I stayed at the 4th floor and there is no lift, so it is not a barrier free hostel). The internet worked perfectly and there was always tea ready. All in all a very nice experience

It was fantastic experience to spend one night. The location is perfect in the centre of city. All around is a buzzing area a heaven for tourists. Excellent value for money. Rooms are pretty clean with amazing service. The staff is super friendly. I'll definitely come back again.

I had a nice stay. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had hot water. My recommendations would be to fix the sliding glass door in the shower on the first floor. Water goes all over the floor. Also have guests write their names and dates on food so they know what is still being used and what was left.

Such a nice hostel with a lovely staff, I stayed for 2 nights and it was pleasant, the rooms are very clean, organised, nice bathroom, incredibly close to Istiklal street with so many stores around that are open 24h, I mostly go in at 3am or 5am and I find the door accessible with a secured combination lock. I forgot many stuff of mine there and they nicely kept them for me in the reception that was nice of them. Would definitely recommend it.

The place is ok, has a good location, close to the port. Cheap stay in 4 ppl room. Problem is the noise at night, especially during the weekend, it's very loud, better ask for a room on the highest floors. The bathroom was not cleaned often enough. Kitchen is small, more for preparing a sandwich than proper cooking. Bed was pretty comfortable.

I loved staying at this place. People are so friendly and nice. The service is très bien, always there for you to help. The location is literally 3 minutes from Istiklal street and 2 minutes from all the cool clubs. Come stay here, you won’t regret. great hostel in a good location of Istanbul. Staff is very nice and very helpful, for example to book a taxi at a fair price, and not tourist price! kitchen if you want to cook. The rooms are not very big but with enough storage (with key) for each person, and a curtain+light for each bed, so great! Bathrooms are funcional, and clean, although some shower mats could help keep it cleaner. Location is great, close to a lot of food and bar options. I would recommend!

Not without flaws, but given the cost and location of the hostel - it is quite possible to put the top five.

Perfect location close to Istiklal Street and Oman Hayam bus stop. Simple, no frills hostel with clean rooms and great service. It can be a bit loud at times because of the numerous bars and restaurants that are within a block of this place. Overall, it is a great option if you just need a place to crash at night.

You will feel like home

Lovely little hostel conveniently located in the bustling district of Taksim. 4-bed dorms and single rooms are available, as well as a common room and shared bathrooms. Owners speak English and are knowledgeable about the area. Location is right next to a lot of good bars, clubs, and restaurants, as well as the main Istiklal street. Beware that you'll be able to hear the music at night though!

I have stayed at dozen of hotels in Taksim. This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. Thank you so much.

We had a great time while we stayed in this hostel. Very close to the crowd, surrounded with a very nice vibe. The room is tiny but all good. Umud, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. He has pretty good English as well. He gave us some recommendations for a nice place in Turkey.

Excellent in terms of metro and bus access to other tourist sites in Istanbul. Close to Istiklal, bars, pubs, gastronomy and shops. The guys at the reception were helpful whenever I needed it.

This was my first time at a hostel and it was an overall comfortable experience. Their hosts Burak and Umut are very hospitable and always ready to help at any time of the day. Also, this is located at a walkable distance from various popular spots. Recommend this place for a solo trip.

It was really good two weeks for me. It was so clean, bedroom is cleaned everyday. Kitchen and bathroom too. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Met few wonderful travellers. Location is perfect and safe! Deffo will consider staying here again!

The hostel is very clean, location is perfect, stuff is very helpful and kind. You can use towels and lockers for free. Also they always put me into female only room for no extra charge. The common space is beautiful. Also my flight was very delayed and I arrived almost at midnight and the worker was very helpful and prepared the late self check in, in case I arrived after midnight.
