A unique experience! If you go to Istanbul, take an empty suitcase, because in the Grand Bazaar you will find everything you need for your stay, from your coat to your underwear, literally. 🤣🤣 Ah, and the best, the prices!don't even carry a suitcase, you just buy it super cheap there.

We purchased a 2 day guided tour for Istanbul. Our guide, Hulya, was on time waiting for us in the hotel lobby. We started our tour where she walked us through our itinerary for the 2 days. She planned our tour in a proper schedule so that we do not have to wait in line at most places. She had purchased tickets in advance whereever possible. Hulya went through soo many details as we went through each place and we never thought a tour can be done a guide like this. I would high recommend Hulya as she was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful!!

Perhaps interesting for window shopping or those who are looking for specific items, it is not interesting to me as the same format of indoor market/vendors exists all over the world, from India to China to Thailand... It really was not impressive and not the "must-have" experience many travel guides boast. The price are high, the authenticity of items questionable, and clearly you can tell they are all catered towards tourists. If you'd like souvenirs, I'd recommend other open air markets in the city. If you see local shopping around, then you've got the right place! The Bazaar? Just walk through it I suppose, so you can say been there done that.

My husband and I have traveled all over the world and we have never hired a private guide because we enjoy exploring on our own. This time we were bringing along my mother and two aunts who are 67, 70, and 71 and figured getting a guide would probably be ideal for them to ask all their questions. We couldn’t be happier that we hired Tarik to be our guide. He is truly a saint. He was patient, answering every question, he paid attention to the things that interest you, and made sure he included them in the tour. He has a pretty set plan of things to take you to see but if you decide you have seen enough or would rather stop for afternoon tea and desserts he is more than happy to switch the tour plans for you. Additionally he has a wonderful sense of humor and despite English being his second or maybe even third language he is easy to communicate with. The tour itself takes you to all the traditional places you will want to go during your two days in Istanbul. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Bosphorous River cruise, Spice Market and more but as I mentioned before if there is something you are truly dying to see, simply let Tarik know and he will make it happen. One thing to note, in case you only read reviews and not the fine print, some of the sites do require an additional payment. If you should book with this company, 110% make the request to work with Tarik and have the most wonderful time in Istanbul.

In January 2022 a group of ERASMUS visited Istanbul. We were accompanied by our guide Sandy, a lovely person. She was always willing to adapt the times to meet us, the routes, making small modifications to the places we wanted to visit, with full explanations wherever we went. We visited the sites both on foot and by public transport, to take us beyond what is usually seen, we wanted a more inclusive experience in a less touristy Istanbul, and we got it. We were able to enjoy the city, the visits, the gastronomy, the local products, always very well advised. We used to meet early in the morning, and she accompanied us until almost dusk, during the 3 days we were with her. For us, it was one of the best and most complete trips we have ever made, completely recommendable and we are looking forward to returning at the future.

We had our tour by Tayfun Bey and we could not have had a better experience. My mom and I have lived all our lives in Istanbul and our guest was from America and a first-timer in Istanbul and all of us ended the day learning very interesting facts about this historic city. Tayfun Bey picked us up promptly and went over our designated plan, giving all kinds of historic and also fun facts and answering any questions we had. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all the sites we visited and also gave us free times here and there to take pictures and just experience the magical atmosphere ourselves. He also gave us a great restaurant recommendation for lunch. In the afternoon, he let us customize the tour for whatever we are looking for and was very flexible with our requests. He dropped us off right to the ferry station we needed to get at the very end. I have taken historical tourism tours all around Europe and honestly this tour was one of the best experiences. Highly recommend!!

Our tour guide, Sercan, was very professional and also same time very nice and extremely knowledgeable about Turkey's rich history. He arrived t on time in morning and he took us to one of the best restaurants where the chef gave our young son Alex a cooking class and really entertained us during our meal. We are family of four and we all really enjoyed our Istanbul tour with him. I Highly recommend him to anyone who wants to have a great experience in Istanbul!

Turkey was wonderful and the Private Guided Tours were the best. I was able to spend as much or as little time at a site as I desired. My tour guides during the my travels were Duygu and Derya and both were awesome. They were able to provide detailed information and allowed me a little free time at a site, when I desired it. As seems to be the nature for the citizens of Turkey, they were pleasant and customer focused. I did two days in Istanbul, a day in Ephesus, and a day trip to Troy. I was amazed and in awe during my tours. I will use Guided Istanbul Tours again as they made my time in Turkey memorable.

We took a 14 day tour including Istanbul, Goreme, Antalya, Pamukkale, Kusadasi, and Canakkale. We chose Guided Istanbul Tours because they were willing to take us anywhere we wanted to go in Turkey including off the beaten path sites like Hattusa and Aphrodisias. We had an amazing trip. We had one guide (Tayfun) throughout the 14 day tour and two drivers, one in Istanbul and another for the remainder of the tour. We provided a long list of sites we wanted to go to and Tayfun took us to all of them and more. Tayfun also managed to add some spectacular sites we didn't think we would have time to see (like Laodicea) and some we had never read about (like the Troy Museum). Tayfun was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. He also took us to some great lunch spots every day to try different local foods. We were even taken to a local hospital to get COVID tests we required for reentry into our home country. Tayfun went above and beyond anything we would have expected when he went back to this hospital at 2 am to ensure that we got the results before we left. Even with no sleep, he still managed to give us a full day of touring the next day. I wouldn't want to use any other tour company or guide for a trip to Turkey.

Ask for Ozgur! We booked a 2 day tour with Ozgur as our guide and had the most memorable experience of Istanbul. We traveled with an infant stroller around the city which would have been challenging alone but Ozgur was very helpful and recommended the best routes. We saw all of the city that we wanted to and, wow, how beautiful! Ozgur provided so much knowledge about the history and culture of Istanbul and Turkey that we really felt like we were immersed in Turkish culture. We ate delicious meals, saw beautiful sites, learned interesting historical facts, smelled new spices, learned a few Turkish phrases, and most of all, gained beautiful memories. Thank you Ozgur and Istanbul! Pro tips: -Do not rent a car or hire a taxi for the city. Traffic within Istanbul is horrible but public transportation was extremely convenient especially with Ozgur guiding us through. -The Blue Mosque is not worth visiting since the inside is under construction (probably for another 3 years). I didn't listen to Ozgur and insisted that we go inside only to see cardboard printed walls and a false construction ceiling. -Start your tour early since the lines/crowds get worse around 1030am. The early 🐦 gets the 🪱. -Choose a hotel that is walking distance to the attractions in which you wish to see. (Within a 45 min walk) The metro will cut this time down

Özgür Mutlu is the best Turkish English-speaking guide ever! He gave us great historical and geographical information, answered all our questions, and is incredibly kind and cooperative. We had a one-day private Istanbul City tour where we visited the Sultanahmet Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, then we walked to the Topkapi Palace Museum and Hagia Irene Church. We had a break for lunch then visited Hippodrome and drove to the Spice Bazaar. A must-see if you only have one day for sightseeing!

Our tour Best of Istanbul was great. We spent a whole day with our guide Bangi: she was really stunning! We had a very good time with her: she provided detailed historical information regarding all places we visited and she managed to provide useful hints to experience the city as well. By the way, Istanbul is really exiting! We love so much the mix of different cultures.

Our guide Sandy made this tour unforgettable. We could not have seen so much of Istanbul without her. We learned a lot about the culture, we went to the best places to taste local food and we optimized our time at the city. We would have loved to have 3 days more with her!

I would highly recommend a private tour when exploring Istanbul and this one we took with Guided Tours of Istanbul was excellent. Hulya , our tour guide, was exceptional. She was punctual , friendly , well informed, non intrusive and fun. Usually a tour guide can sound very recorded when providing information but Hulya made the interaction seem very personal and fun. It was like we were hanging out with another friend. She not only gave us a lot of insight into the attractions we attended but also life in Istanbul in general. She was very accommodating of our schedule and she adapted the information she provided based on our interest levels.

Superb tour group! The best in Istanbul! We did a 3 day tour of Istanbul. It was magical. They organised all our visits and a luxurious car to take us around! It was fantastic! The tour guide, Umran, she was incredible and we loved spending time with her and learning about the history of Istanbul from her. Every moment was incredible and I have to say I’m truly impressed at how fast the responded to all our emails and how swiftly they organised our tours. Truly exceptional and I highly recommend them to anyone! Keep up the great work! Thank you again!

We had the pleasure of being guided by Dogancan on a recent private tour of Istanbul, Turkey, and I cannot speak highly enough of his expertise and professionalism. From the moment we met, Dogancan made us feel welcome and excited for the adventure ahead. His extensive knowledge of Istanbul and its history was evident throughout the tour, making it both informative and engaging. Dogancan went above and beyond to ensure that my family had a memorable experience, tailoring the tour to our interests and providing insider tips and recommendations. His organizational skills and attention to detail were exceptional, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone to our family. I highly recommend Dogancan to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, personable, and passionate private tour guide.

We had an excellent Istanbul tour with Fatma. She was very warm and friendly, with really strong English and historical knowledge. She also helped us to understand more about Turkish culture and everyday life. Fatma was also very organised and planned the day so that we could have optimal queuing times when the lines for Hagia Sophia and certain sections of The Palace were shorter. This really made a difference to the overall experience given how busy some sites were. Overall, we had a really enjoyable day with the perfect mix of sightseeing, a nice restaurant for lunch and the desired amount of shopping afterwards. Thank you Fatma!

We had an AMAZING 2 days with Hakan! He was kind, flexible, and really knowledgeable. He adapted when necessary for our teenage children. He offered history with humor. We learned culture through palaces, mosques, but also food and interpersonal interaction with Turkish artists. We lost luggage and Covid tests. He didn’t miss a beat. He quickly got someone to the hotel for testing and results within hours. He really saved the day. What an incredible start to our vacation. Thank you Hakan!

We opted for a 2-day private tour but eventually converted to a 3-day one because of how good Dogancan (Jon) was. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, and conducted himself with utmost professionalism. We enjoyed his company and really appreciated how articulate and well-versed he was with multitudes of topics outside items on our itinerary. It was truly an enjoyable learning experience wherein we got to explore a lot of the culture and heritage of Istanbul while ensuring that we covered as much as possible. Highly recommend Jon to anyone who wants to explore beautiful Istanbul in its multitudes of offerings - architecture, history, food, etc. When we find ourselves back there, we’d definitely look forward to having him as our tour guide :)

I booked a 9 nights tour with Yusuf to visit Istanbul/Cappadocia/Pamukkale, and we took the hot air balloon as well. generally, it is good all the items on the itinerary were covered. The tour contracted us to local guide. The guide in Istanbul is Ucar Ertugrul was good and knowledge and the guide in Ephesus and Pamukkale is OK. The guide Gokhan in Cappadocia is AVERAGE, in my itinerary, we should visited the ancient city the whole morning, but Gokhan took us to the leather shop for fashion show shopping ans the a gem store. After lunch, the tour in the ancient is around half an hour. General, it is a good trip.

Amazing! If you love Turkish products, this is tje place to get them. If you never tried any, that is the moment to try them. Super satisfied with everything. The order came in 1 day to Ireland, the package super well sealed and the products...couldn't ask for better. Will definitelly buy again.

A great historical structure that is very well preserved. The bazaar shops are very nice and variable, clothes, food, Turkish delights, gold, souvenirs and much more. The bazaar is very well-known to every visitor to Istanbul and it deserves. The location of the bazaar is nice and you can easily reach it by taxis or public transport. You have access to public toilets insude the bazaar.

  • 5/5 Tyeisha R. 3 years ago on Google
So many shops and boutiques, it's like the master of swap meet shopping. You can practically spend a whole day there going from shop to shop. The Grand Bazaar has pretty much everything you can think of, clothes, chocolates, candles, and everything in between. It's a must see if you're in the area.

We toured with Caner, and had a wonderful experience. Caner was very knowledgeable about all the sites we planned to see, and re-arranged the order of the tour to accommodate our desire to go to sites when they were the least crowded (especially important to us given we traveled in July 2020 and we had concerns about crowds due to Covid). Caner shared with us the history and culture of each stop, and also shared with us his own personal experiences. It was also Independence and Democracy Day on the day we toured, and Caner expertly navigated us through key locations and kept us away from crowds. Thank you, Caner, for sharing Istanbul and your experiences with us!

We had a fantastic day exploring Istanbul thanks to our wonderful private tour guide Emre, who felt like family to us by the end of our 7-hour tour! Emre was very passionate about his impressive knowledge of Istanbul and his enthusiasm was contagious, even as we trekked through the cold. We learned so much. Plus, he went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible, from the places we visited to the food we ate. If you’re thinking of booking a private tour in Istanbul definitely don’t hesitate to ask for Emre - you won’t regret it!

Had a wonderful day touring Istanbul with Emre. He was punctual, energetic, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable and proud of his country’s history and culture. He provided detailed and pertinent historical information regarding the places we visited and he managed to make it all very interesting. He mixed in current affairs with his commentary and was frank and candid and did not shy away from answering any questions. He even answered questions from strangers who were listening in on his expertise. It was like touring the city with an old friend and I would highly recommend Guided Istanbul Tours and Emre, in particular.
