I really enjoyed my time here. Staff was helpful and kind. Hostel offers breakfast and will book your taxi for you to the airport. Helping guarantee the best rates. They offer an an insanely affordable dinner, especially compared to other restaurants around. The cook is kind and takes time to engage her diners.

Nice hostel in an unbeatable location right next to the old town main attractions. Really nice rooftop with sunset views. Dinner also offered for a cheap price. The friendly hostel dog is a highlight! 4 stars come from some of the noisy guests that were there but that’s what you sign up for in a hostel!

This hotel was great. Great location, friendly and helpful staff who can help you find a taxi at a good rate (800TLR) to take you to the airport if needed. Their cute dog is super nice too and likes cuddles hehe. I would stay there again. I am very sensitive to sounds and noise and this place was the quiet i needed. Even with the proximity to the mosques, it was still quiet. Thank you.

We paid 172 pounds for 6 nights which is a great deal. The rooms are beautiful and the people have won my heart. Plus it came with free breakfast which is absolutely delicious and the service is amazing

Honestly one of the best places I've stayed at. Despite there being less people (due to coronavirus) the staff made the experience worth it. Have a friendly resident dog, breakfast on the rooftop terrace (with amazing views), stones throw away from major attractions. What's not to like!

It was a lovely stay, the staff are extremely friendly and the owner Alper is the friendliest of all. He provided us with many amazing recommendations and even helped us book a bus to our next location. He was always available to help if needed, it was a really great experience. The location is also very good, a very short walk to all the sights in old Town, and walking distance from the tram or the port to get out further. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Istanbul. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely exceeded expectations! Perfect location to see all the sites of Istanbul. Rooms were tidy/clean with comfortable beds. Free breakfast each morning was delicious with great variety. Staff were so helpful in showing us best ways to get around town and places to see. And Dennis the hostel dog was gorgeous. Would absolutely recommend!

I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay on my first trip to Istanbul. The hostel is super close from the main sights, the staff is super friendly and kind, rooms are comfy and the bathroom is clean. Best thing for me was the view from the terrace in which we were served a delicious buffet breakfast. What an amazing place this is. I'd definitely stay here when I come back to Istanbul.

Clean, spacious, lots of toilets, showers, and sinks so there was never a long wait. The view from the rooftop area is amazing. Breakfast was delicious, lots of selection and all homemade. It's also only 10 minutes walk from Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. Though I wasn't a huge fan of the area because food in the area is quite pricey, it's very tourist oriented, and there's no nightlife. Another thing too is that there is no Havaist shuttle route in this area anymore. The closest one is 2-3km away, so you'll probably have to pay for a taxi if you have a late night/early morning flight.

Please watch out this hostel. They treat badly some customers according to their nationalities. I used this place several years ago. The receptionist was super rude, tried to convince there is no booking despite having booked through a well known site and there is a confirmation email. I complained and left the place. They made an international call to my work place to insult me. This behaviour implies some illicit nature of the management To avoid by all means.

The hotel is located inside the old city, about 10 minutes walk from the Sofia Mosque; 800m from the nearest light rail station, the road is paved with stones, not suitable for carrying suitcases, except by taxi; there is no lift, half of the rooms are located in the semi-basement, almost no WIFI signal, a small window, not soundproof, very noisy; the kitchen of the hotel is located on the top floor, but not available for guests to use.

After publishing on booking a review complaining about the fact that the shower gel tank was empty, the owner of this Guesthouse texted me on my personal number in order to harras me. Unbelievable!!! SCREEN IN PHOTOS.

Good location in the hotel section next to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Shared facilities were clean with plenty of showers and toilets. 10-bed dorm is well equipped with large lockers, curtains and stable beds with lights, shelf and chargers. Morning breakfast is exceptional.

The place is located near so many historical places ..... and the breakfast is so good 1. The dormitory is neat and clean . 2. The toilet and washroom is well maintained. 3. The receptionist is also very helpful and you can even book cabs and get simcards here. There is a big friendly dog which you pet or play with .

Perfect Guesthouse to spend a few days in Istanbul. Close to all popular sights. all staff are so friendly making our stay a lovely one. Staff at dining area were so attentive and made sure we always had enough. Great views at rooftop to relax the night. In-house 3yrs big dog & 9wk old puppy make lovely companions. Owner and staff made us feel at home away from home. Perfect!

We stayed for 5 nights and everything was great! The room is very cosy, the neighborhood is quiet and safe - a few minutes away (on foot) from Aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque. There is also a small Bazaar nearby. The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of local dishes, including menemen, local deserts and tasty vegetables. Client service at its best! A big Thank you to Mr. Alper and his team, who are very welcoming, offering prompt assistance to each and every request, plus life-saving recommendations; he also helped us negotiate the fee with the taxi driver. Let’s not forget the Golden Retriever who just makes your day brighter and the rooftop with Bosphorus view. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come again!

Incredible location, very close to both the Blue Mosque and Haga Sofia. I came here as a solo traveler, wanting some peace. I found it :D The staff was wonderful. A very clean guesthouse. Perfect for travelers wanting peace near the heart of Istanbul. Great views from the top where breakfast is served. The staff preparing breakfast and cleaning the rooms are very friendly. The lunch they serve midday is very affordable and delicious. I would especially recommend this for couples and families. The hospitality of Alpert, his family and staff are why I will visit again and recommend this for years to come .

I’ve stayed here twice and loved it both times. Always clean, cost effective, great service, very friendly and helpful, love the breakfast, and the location is super convenient and beautiful. I’ve felt safe even traveling alone as a female. I look forward to going back and staying here again. Sharing a photo of the view from the terrace.

The hotel is very close to the city's main attractions, so you don't need to waste your time using taxis or public transport. We were welcomed by a very hospitable administrator, while we were waiting for check-in, he offered us to relax on the terrace, there was a beautiful view of the city and the sea. He also offered us Turkish coffee and water. There’s also a friendly dog Denise, she lives in the guesthouse, she is glad to all guests, brings her toys so that someone can play with her. We liked the breakfast, it was nourishing. The administrator helped us with everything, called a taxi to the airport and negotiated a good price with the driver. We are very grateful for all his kind assistance.

Stayed here for 6 nights in the 4-bed dormitory. Excellent experience. Good bunk beds with curtains, personal lights and outlets, and large lockers with included digital locks. Clean bathrooms with hot showers and good water pressure. Fantastic free breakfast that is well-serviced. Good views from the rooftop and a 5-minute walk from most Sultanahmet sights. The dog is cute. More hooks for clothes/towels in the 4-bed dorm would be nice, but this is a small thing. Good WiFi all around. Would definitely stay here again.

I highly recommend Agora. They are one of the best hostels/hotels. The staff and owners are amazing. They’re so friendly, social, and attentive. They also have an adorable golden retriever that is well trained. I slept well in the dorms because the guesthouse is located on a quiet street and have air conditioning. Each dorm bed also has curtains. The bonus is the free breakfast which includes delicious and healthy Turkish salads and vegetables

This hostel is in the heart of the Oldtown, yet on a relatively calm street. The hygiene is excellent and the staff is fluid in several languages, including English. This hostel is more like a hotel than the average hostel. This means its standards are higher on average when it comes to the aforementioned. This also means however, there is less of a “hostel-vibe”. Depending on your outlook this can be a positive or negative thing. The common room is on the terrace, which is also a restaurant and has an air of professionalism, yet if you make the effort you can be sure to find good company there. The restaurant also serves a range of dishes and drinks for a fair price in the evening. All in all an excellent base to explore the Oldtown for a fair price

Agora has provided us with the comfort of our home beyond the many hotels we have stayed in before. We would like to thank Mr. Alper and Mrs. Emine for their hospitality. Agora is right in the middle of historical places, within walking distance of all important places. The cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff and the variety of breakfast were at the highest level. In our next Istanbul trip, we will definitely choose Agora, and we can easily recommend it to everyone.

Brilliant little hotel in the historical center of Istanbul. The location is amazingly good. It's literally 5 minutes walk from Hagia Sofia, it has a very good view from the terrace, is surrounded by good restaurants, and yet is very quiet. The room was very nice and clean, the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is the best we had in Turkey (and it comes with a very welcome different twist every day). Will definitely go back again if we are back in Istanbul.

Hostel is located right next to the blue mosque, a ten minute walk to the closest tram station. The beds have lockers, curtains and electric outlets. They have a free breakfast and the rooftop terrace has amazing views on the mosques and the river. It's not the most social place but the staff was really nice. And Deniz, the dog, was my personal highlight

This is a great guesthouse. The location is superb, close to bars and restaurants, but still quiet at night. The main attractions are 7 minutes walk. The room is very nice and clean. Breakfast is good with excellent, friendly service. One slight negative would be one of the receptionists. He doesn't seem to be happy with dealing with people, which is a bit of a problem working front house.

Excellent place. Owner and staff are very nice and always open for a chat. Location is excellent, very central but still quiet at night. The roof terrace is a great place to meet fellow travellers. My bicycle could be stored safely. Included breakfast is good and dinner is available at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend this hostel! Lovely staff, impeccably clean and comfy beds. I met some really nice people here up in the social area. One thing - the dorms might benefit from a lock inside the door. I stayed in an all female dorm, and on the last night a drunken man came in and crashed on an empty bed. I alerted the receptionist, who was very kind and quietly woke the man up, but it’s just an idea! Overall, I never felt unsafe at all, and the staff are very attentive.

I really enjoyed my stay at Agora. Alper (the owner) was very helpful. He was able to provide me with an adaptor and a towel during my stay. I even met a few Turkish locals who had been to Dublin before and we had coffee together. Alper recommended a nice restaurant and helped me with my bags. I forgot a few things in the hostel and he made sure to let me know as soon as possible. The breakfast was a very nice selection, buffet style. I really enjoyed my stay overall and would have no hesitation in returning to Agora. Thanks guys 🙏

I missed it already since I left. Location, in the center of Sultanahmet, walking distance of Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar, and tram, surrounded by resto. Rooms, I stayed in a dorm, first in a female dorm and on the second visit in a mixed. Both are recommended cause it's comfortable and the locker is provided under the bed with a passcode so no worry to lose the key other than forgetting the passcode. Cleanliness is maintained very well whether in the dorm, bathrooms, and all public areas. Service, NO DOUBT! All the staffs are friendly and helpful, especially the owner and wife, Alper and Emy! They will be happy to serve the needs of their guests whether staying in dorms or in private rooms. Breakfast. Yes, this hostel provides the best breakfast for its guests, a daily buffet that makes you won't miss it. This area also was perfect for my remote work desk with its excellent wifi connection. Their rooftop was perfect for sun lounging and enjoying the Marmara Sea. Definitely will come back for my next visit. Totally recommended while you are in Sultanahmed! Last but not least, the Hostel Manager, Deniz (The Golden retriever) she’ll be happy to ask you to play with her or just to share some of your food. 😃

Location is decent, not too far from the markets and food places/tram station, mosques. The rooms are what you expect from a hostel, you can lock your luggage underneath the bed. But with a lot of people in the room it doesn't smell good, the airflow isn't great and people can make a noise the whole night. Maybe that's just the hostel experience. Staff seemed mostly helpful and the breakfast was adequate

Had a great stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were especially attentive when there was a mix up with our payment and sorted it out quickly and hassle free. The breakfast made by the ladies was delicious and the rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy. Excellent location also. Would stay again!

Very nice hostel. Stayed in the 4 bed dorm, which was clean and nice. Not a Party hostel, but great to get in contact with others on the rooftop area. Staff was very nice and helpfull. I would stay there again.

Beautiful and social hostel with a perfect roof top patio. Loved it so much. They accommodated for our 4 touring bikes and gave us lots of information. Thank you Alber and the whole team. We were stoked.

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! I stayed in Agora for 5 nights in a dorm. The free breakfast included is very nice and you eat it on their beautiful rooftop. The rooftop was never too crowded so it was always very nice to go on it. Especially at night to socialize a bit over drinks. The rooms have huge lockers that can easily fit a big carry-on bagage, as well as a backpack. For dorms, the shared toilets and shared showers were never too crowded. I never had to wait so it is very nice! You can just wake up at any time and be sure that you'll be able to take a shower :) The bed are very comfortable and rooms have an air conditioner. Which is very useful in summer! They also have heaters for winter. In addition to all of this, the location is next to all the major tourist attractions. The personal is very nice. If I come back to Istanbul, I'd book this Hostel again. No regrets.

Firstly the location is fantastic, you're 5-10mins walk away from Haga Sophia and The Blue Mosque. Also lovely restaurants nearby, the first restaurant around the corner from Agora is Rainbow Restaurant (best restaurant in Istanbul!) Secondly the breakfast is wonderful, buffet style, with quality freshly made food with a wide selection. The fact that you can enjoy this on the balcony whilst seeing the tops of Haga Sophia & Blue Mosque from one side and the opposite side the beautiful sea! Wonderful start to every day. Beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are clean, shower works great too (nice pressure which we loved). Just wanted to say a massive, massive thank you to Alper, who was happy to help on my first trip to Istanbul with various things (airport transfer, Bosporus cruise, top locations to see etc). But what topped it off for me was when my wife had forgotten her phone in the taxi on our departure from Turkey. I called Alper and he called the taxi driver immediately and we thankfully got our phone back within 15 mins, he handled this situation of panic for us so calmly and swiftly. We can't thank him enough as the phone had all our holiday pictures and videos. This was all after we had checked out. We really were treated like guests rather than just customers. Wonderful. Thank you so so much Alper and all staff at Agora for such an amazing experience, it was my wife and I first holiday together, which was such a great experience because of you all.

Have spent a wonderful week here. Superb location, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar all within walking distance. Surrounded by restaurants all within a few min walk. Staff are wonderful and the owner Alper, nothing is too much trouble. Such good value for money. Highly recommended.

Good location, nice rooftop terrace, free breakfast. Most staff are friendly and you can enjoy a simple breakfast every morning. However, they overcharged us, by having us change from a female room to a cheaper mixed room last minute and still charging full original price. (They refunded us at check out.) The room was very dry and probably full of dust; everyone was coughing all night. The room is way too quiet, so you can hear every single noise anyone makes. The lockers are loud, with locker pin code buttons making a loud beep. The cleaning staff starting around 8am is very loud, voices clearly audible through the door. Didn't sleep well because of dry air, coughing and snoring, loud beeping and loud cleaning staff in the morning.

  • 4/5 Eliott W. 1 year ago on Google
Restrooms were kinda wet all the time, not sure if it was from cleaning or not. Some of the staff were no help chilling on phones while I waited, and gave poor directions. While I had issues with some workers there after I left an initial review someone (I think the manager) came to confront me, and he resolved most of the issues I had and was very pleasant about it. Overall it was a nice stay, but if you plan to have any laundry done bring it EARLY in the morning because I tried to do mine around noon and and it was simply impossible.

We loved this place! Clean, comfortable rooms in a perfect location. The guesthouse is walking distance to all the historic sites or to all public transportation. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff was very friendly and professional. The best part was the 2 dogs that live in the house.

I really love the hostel, the staff is super nice and helpful, the breakfast is delicious, the location is great also. Location is awesome, 5 min walk from Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. They also have lunch and dinner which you can have for a fair price. I cant tell abut the other rooms, but my room was clean and beautiful. Very much worth it for the price. They also have a cute dog named Dinis, she is the sweetest! Thanks for the great stay, Agora Hostel!

I seldom make google review but I think this hostel deserve a credits. I think they are by far the cheapest and best hostel in Türkiye. It’s surrounded by tourist attraction. Metro is nearby. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Deniz (golden retriever) is cute . Breakfast is fantastic and the room is quiet at night although is just few steps away from the busy streets. Overall I give 100 for this hostel
