Absolutely the best place to stay in Victoria Falls. This place has got a new owner, Fergus, who is very generous and friendly. Since he started running the place it has been done up with great bedrooms, bathrooms and even cool art too. One of, if not the, cheapest place as well! The location means you can walk to the falls for bungeeing and gorge swings etc. Also it seems to be a good place for a Friday/Saturday night!

Best value for any accommodation I have ever experienced! Myself and my three friends absolutely loved our stay here. We were blown away by the terrific service, both in helping us book activities as well as the everyday help while staying at shoestrings. With three dogs and a goat as well as a lively bar and restaurant, the atmosphere at shoestrings was exceptional. The food was quite good, and the accommodations had all the necessities and were very clean. Would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting Victoria Falls! Very budget friendly, but I would still choose to stay here even if I had a larger budget!

classic backpackers hostel. offers a lot of the typical hostel stuff like pool tables swimming pool, restaurant, bar, tour desk, social vibe, etc. it does have a bit of a party vibe on some nights though, esp. the weekend when there are actual party nights. facilities are fine, normal hostel type stuff. it's cheap, well located and the staff are nice and helpful.

Went there for lunch... We had Grilled chicken platter with fries. And sadza with beef stew. The sadza was hot and fresh but the grilled chicken to our disappointed was cold out of the fridge, probably heated in microwave and not made warm properly. That's how we knew it wasn't made fresh. It was just reheated again inspite of bringing to their attention.

Location, food and staff is really good. The area to hang out is great and it overall has a good vibe. The 6 bed dorm is extremely small and has no space to put anything. The mosquito nets are almost not usable. Better take the bigger dorm where there is actual space to put stuff or a room.

Very near to Vic falls and the touristic area, very socializable place with bar and tv to watch football, cricket with others. Great garden with mango trees and lots of birds awaking you up. Lot of activities to do and with negotiation you can get good discount since Vic falls is expensive. Try the tents experience it's really wonderful. Must stay place.

Excellent accommodations for those on a budget or for those who are traveling solo and want to meet other solo travelers. This hostel is a 5 min walk from town. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The staff are AMAZING!!!!!!

Food was great and very attentive staff on the food side. No waiters on the bar side but barmen efficient until the place is full. Music played via Bluetooth but very casual vibe. Music to be lower when there are not too many people.

I stayed in Teak room which has a spacious bathroom and comfortable bed. The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and well maintained. The whole hostel in refreshed, full of colours, kitchen serves good and staff overall is very friendly. Even the baboons will become more social with time. 😅 Congratulations on renovations. 🇿🇼💪🏼

Had a fun night out with friends. Music was good. Drinks nice and cold. Management may need to do something about the men lingering around thinking every unaccompanied woman is looking for men.

Very well located. Everything just perfect quality /price steongky recommended. We had a room that was located next to the tent. So was a little noisy during the night. But still would go back. TAKE NOTE: Zimbabwe only take USD or Euro but mainly USD, if you have to pay tour Visa need to have cash on you

Ideal place for bachelor trip or as the name suggests for the back packers. You can get a tent with 2 single beds for about $16 pp. There's a pool and sbak bar and a play area for kids, too. Great place to hang out

I loved my stay at Shoestrings. Conveniently situated, lively atmosphere, beautiful garden and amazing pool. Of course, chicken the goat takes the trophy as VF mascot!

This place gave me a home in Vic falls. I met the most amazing people here. They helped me put together some activities, the location is close to everything (walk to falls, shops, restaurants). There is a bar and a restaurant too if you don’t want to leave the premises. Superb!

The bed sheets were dirty, the pool was dirty, the night security guard was trying hard to get us to go to his shop, the tents are so close together that we could hear the neighbours snore during the afternoon and the icing on the cake was the loud banging music that went on into the early morning so please don’t expect to get a good nights rest. I strongly recommend you stay somewhere else!

The individuals working at Shoestrings were great! Amazing service. They came by and cleaned our spot everyday which was very nice. It just sucks that on Friday/Saturday night they basically turn into a club. The music gets so loud and you cannot sleep. They also kept the music going until 2am one night when I was staying there. And I had to up the night morning for a tour really early so I got no sleep.

This is a very nice hostel! Stayed in private room which was a great value. Bed was very comfortable and hot shower. Free water and felt very secure. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially reception and cleaning crew! Would highly recommend!

Shoestrings Backpackers Lodge is a budget Lodging facility in Victoria falls that is more popular for its hot dishes, affordable and wide alcohol selection as well as chilled atmosphere. Shoestrings Backpackers lodge has a wide menu to choose from as well as a wide range of both local and imported alcoholic beverages. The staff is friendly and always happy to serve. They have a number of dogs that run freely at the premises and seem not to mind anyone. They also have a goat, named chicken that is a resident there and is super friendly. Periodically they have musical performances conducted there.

Great value, solid restaurant, nice pool. Oh and the staff is terrific—Angela is amazing!! What could make this place better? Maybe strong AC in the rooms, but you can't find that in Zim at this price point. Can't wait to come back!

The gold things first. The place offers good food, is quite cheap (at least for vic falls) and the area is nearly perfect. Everything is walkable and the food is delicious. And now the bad things: Loud music until late night, like really loud at least during weekend. The bedsheets had lot of unidentifiable stains on it, and the Mosquitoes nets are full of holes, we are not picky at all, but for 50bucks it should improve a little

They were our first place to stay after our flight to Zimbabwe. First night we stayed in their 2 person tent with beds then next 2 days we camped in our own tent. Wifi was available throughout the place. They helped us arrange activities such as swimming in the Devils pool and Canoeing in the Zambezi river (which includes a safari). We are very grateful and had a great stay. On our next visit to Vic Falls, we will be coming back :)

My partner and I stayed at Shoestrings Backpackers for 4 nights during our stay in Victoria Falls. We enjoyed every moment. Angie was so helpful with orgasing our day trips. She went out of her way in making sure that we are organized. The environment at the backpackers is friendly and safe. I strongly recommend this place. A goat named chicken was the highlight 🤣
