The playground needs urgent attention as some of the slides and swings are unsafe for children to use but nevertheless, my daughter Tanya enjoyed playing there and we had a good time time in the picturesque park.

Well maintained nice, quiet and peaceful environment. Watch and hear plenty of birds chirping and singing for you. A place to be away from the hustle and bustle of city activities. Take a lone walk and enjoy peaceful meditation.

The place is a rainforest at the moment. Landscaping necessary for a lot of sections

The state of the park has deteriorated for the past 2 decades. Little maintainance, litter by people and air pollution from the sewer flowing through the park. Lastly Thieves too much

Great picnic spot for family. Attracts quite a crowd on weekends, otherwise quiet on weekdays. Has a pretty water fountain which is a fav photo spot for many. The park has Carolers, Nativity plays and many other beautiful displays over Christmas time, however, you dont want to be isolated in the evenings, several people have been mugged here.

Bulawayo City Council is really doing a good job keeping this place clean. Not much to see, the fountains are no longer working and lights need servicing

Quiet and relaxing place to be ,more of nature life

It's not as clean as it once was. The Harare bound and the Masvingo, Beitbridge, Mutare bound buses have made it noisy, dirty and unsafe

The park needs to be maintained with water Not impressed. I have seen it in better days. You need to get busy to keep up

Lately the City Council has been maintaining the lawn and cutting overgrown grass. The park is home to the Centenary fountain which is to your left when approaching the CBD from the Eastern suburbs along Joburg Road. It can however get crowded over the weekend as it is frequented by school children and students from the Bulawayo Polytechnic, which is a stone's throw away. Newly weds come to have photos taken at the Centenary fountain and within the verdant park itself.

I have never seen the place in the pictures but yeah it's quiet and there is definitely not a guy who sells weed who always sits at the park benches wearing a grey hoodie 😂

Good place to unwind and go for picnics etc however it needs a bit of more maintainance, provision of litter bins and cleaning.

The place has been neglected for a while now. Its former glory days need to be brought back

    My favourite place ever

  • 2/5 Jack Thulani M. 2 years ago on Google
It was once a glorious place for picnics, studying, dates and all with its well kept vegetation and plants and the general infrastructure. Now it's not even as safe as it once was and hasn't got much to offer as far as activities are concerned. It needs to be revamped and restored to its former glory and even beyond it.

The place has now dilapidated! Serious work from the council needs to be done. The benches are no longer functional, the grass is just too long 👎🏽 no longer beautiful especially the side where the theatres are and the area behind the museum.

Best place to be....u could go there for photo shoots especially by the fountain u ll definitely love it

The place is quiet, jus moderate in terms of security, not up to standard in terms of cleanliness, no food outlets, not being maintained well, a museum within the park with live snakes displayed in that museum, not enough seats to seat. Broken branches not fixed, walkable distance from CBD. In conclusion, it is not being maintained up to standard these days but a good place to spend time if everything was to be put in order.

t was once the epicentre of entertainment and relaxation in Bulawayo with scenic views and lush lawns for people to unwind during their spare time. There was a miniature train that would move on scaled down rail tracks taking passengers around the park so that they could view the park. This is the Centenary Park in Bulawayo, a place that was once the epitome of picturesque and pride of the city. To show that it was a viable leisure spot, there is a tuck shop there (or what looks like one) where various snacks would be sold to the general public.

Maybe it was a mistake going back down memory lane, because although it's nice by the fountain the rest of the park has sadly been neglected with so much rubbish everywhere.

This used to be a great place. Not so much now. The potential for recovery is there.

A good place that needs to be taken care of, a lot of youngsters frequenting the place are disrespectful and noisy. A lot of littering is now common. It has become a hideout spot.

  • 3/5 Joe M. 1 year ago on Google
Christmas and new year deco is super, besides the lack on maintenance the lights give a new feel to the place

  • 4/5 Future M. 1 year ago on Google
It's not that bad, they are maintaining it well. Last time i checked public toilets were not working.

  • 2/5 John C. 2 years ago on Google
So sad the park is so neglected with rubbish everywhere, glass plastic food containers etc as far as the eye can see.The only area worth looking at is the fountain no further than that it's too sad.
