Stayed here as part of a package tour. The main lodge area is pleasant enough. The rooms are rustic but adequate. However, they lack safes to store valuables which I find unacceptable in 2019. The rooms also do not lock. The staff was pleasant but not well trained. I need to maintain a gluten free diet. I was told by the tour operator that the hotel was aware and could accommodate. That was not the case. The kitchen staff sent us out for a game drive with a picnic. The only thing I was able to eat was the potato salad. On other drives there was nothing gluten free. The lodge does not have a lot of competition right now, which is probably why they feel they can be so non-service oriented. That will change in the future, however. I would not stay in this hotel again nor can I recommend it to others.

I had one of the best holidays of my life at my 3 night stay at the Khulu Safari Lodge. Michelle was an excellent hostess and Brightwell was a really exceptional guide. The service was excellent, the knowledge of the guides second to none and the people are so friendly and welcoming. A big thanks to Sharon, Phil, Khulu, Gay, Brighwell and Michelle - already recommended to others and I will be back to visit again.

Amalinda, if you’re reading this… Everyone at Ivory lodge deserves a big raise. Including the branch manager. Absolutely amazing all around…

It was an enjoyable experience with particular highlights being the Sundowners Game Drive and the lodge itself with its unique touches. I especially enjoyed the lifted cabins. I hope to one day come back again for another stay.

We were absolutely amazed by the hotel and it’s staff. They are extremely flexible and well trained. Our game drives were superb and the rooms and food at the hotel were very good. We would surely be back. There are many 5* hotels around the world that could learn from Ivory Lodge when accommodating to its guests. Thanks again to the whole team!

Our last stay in the bush at the Ivory Lodge in Hwange National Park was beyond expectations. Hosts and staff were amazing. The accommodations were similar to a bush camp in that the thatched cottages had open air windows with shades that could be rolled down. It is not air conditioned but tolerable during the heat of the day due to fans in the rooms and their swimming pool provided relief. A thatched viewing area overlooking a water hole brought us within 5 feet of a herd of elephants. AMAZING!. On our last night we were fortunate to see a pride of 16 lions, multiple zebra, herds of elephants, and multiple giraffes. Food was fantastic and we had a surprise lunch cooked and served out in the bush complete with linen, wine, and dessert.

Amazing, stunning and overall just has to be one of the best places I have ever stayed. We took over the whole lodge and booked all 6 rooms for a family reunion with family coming from the States, UK and Zim. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the game rides, excellent food and just relaxing around the lodge. I thoroughly recommend visiting Khulu Bush Camp!

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon in September at Ivory Lodge and it was fantastic. The location is glorious, with animals roaming right up to the fence around the camp - we had a herd of buffalo sleep by us one night. The rooms are very comfy and the staff are amazing; when they found out it was our honeymoon, on our last night they set up a special table for us by the pool for dinner, threw in a bottle of fizz and even made us a cake, it was very special. The chefs do wonders with the food and Zeb was the most brilliant guide. A big thumbs up!

Of the many lodges we stayed at this was unquestionably the best of the top three. Terrific location, lots of game, solitude, great food, and the best staff ever who understood customer service. Top marks all-round

We had a fantastic stay at the lodge with great service and a fantastic guide on the game rides. We experienced amazing wild life encounters, including lions, giraffs, and elephants.

Had a wonderful experience here. The staff take great care of you. We saw about 20 elephants come right up to the pool one night. The chef created excellent gluten free options for me and sent a variety of gluten free choices for lunch as well. Would stay again!

No words can describe the experience we had at Khulu Lodge. Sitting in the pool surrounded by 🐘🐘🐘 drinking water from the pool while drinking a 🍻 absolutely priceless. Rooms, food, service all excellent. Staff super friendly and go out their way to make your stay memorable.

We stayed in this wonderful hotel for 3 nights and had the best time! Being able to see so many elephants playing right in front of the lodge is truly a one of a kind experience. The people working there are all so nice and friendly! The food was always really tasty and varied. Our guide during the game drives (Patrick) was really interesting and having a little drink with him during sundown in the wild was one of the best part of our day. Obviously, we saw plenty of animals thanks to him! The lodge is in front of a big water point and animals come there often. We saw hundreds of elephants, some girafes, baboons and more. This lodge is the place to be if you want to have a wonderful safari in Zimbabwe !

Ivory Lodge is dated, and would require some maintenance. The service was friendly but not very good. Ants in food, supplies missing, bathroom needs repairs. We were very disappointed. On one of the game drives we got a flat tire, and between 3 vehicles they could not get a spare tire which fitted. One of the customers (!!!) found a solution, else we would have been in 38'C for hours. Terrible customer service. Management just said "welcome to Africa". Would definitely never recommend this place.

A great place to relax and watch the animals come down to the water to drink. Advertised as being kid friendly is perhaps a little generous. The staff are wonderful with the littlies but there are lots of hazards such as a high balcony with no rail, an open swimming pool a rickety fence at the animal hide etc. There are also no high chairs for meals and no play area so it's hard work keeping the little ones entertained. A few adjustments could go a long way. On the whole though, a good experience with great food and friendly staff.
