I booked a room for one night. First I found one cockroach, well that happens. Personnel gave me bug spray. Then I looked under the table, there was four more cockroaches. Also there was some under the chair, behind the wooden board in the wall and under the bed. I sprayed the room, but I don't think it helps that much when the infestation is this size. I am sleeping under the mosquito net but it does not feel nice to sleep in the room full of bugs. This whole place should be fumigated. Common toilet & shower were not good. Floor was flooding with water, toilet did not flush and it did not feel clean. Only good things with this place were the location, friendly personnel and the price ($15 per night). Would not recommend though.

There's not too much choice in the budget range in Masvingo - this simple place is in reasonable shape and is very centrally located. They have dorms, singles and doubles; the double I stayed in was huge, clean and quite comfortable. Communal bathrooms (also very clean) come with bucket showers, and the ladies running the place are very friendly and quite professional. Btw, I didnt see any insects, and there's good WiFi. You could definitely do worse than stay here.

Don't expect anything out of this place, it costed me and my husband 10$ for a room. The bed sheets aren't exactly fresh. It's full of various insects. You need be VERY OPEN minded!!

It's what I would say the most financially convenient lodgings that I have discovered so far in Masvingo.

Backpackers Rest in Masvingo has just been refurbished throughout. All bathrooms have been completely renovated and the refurbishment includes new furnishings in the bedrooms along with new beds, mattresses and linens. If you are looking for quality, budget accommodation in a central location, this is your best choice.

Friendly staff, good facilities. If you're a fan of firm mattresses though you won't find these beds so comfortable.

its a restplace for the night.the rooms are standard.just had a challenge when there was a powercut intown and there was no way to heat up the bath water

Room was cold and too basic. No TV, no heater, no wifi

Avoid at all cast. The staff is insanely rude, I be asked for a simple spray for mosquitoes and the girl told me that I should call the manager to provide me one or buy it myself. Kitchen was disgusting and infested with cockroaches and what not, they were even on the ceiling, rooms are no exception they are an the walls and floor, but not as much as in the kitchen. No water and no electricity which apparently it’s not the first time and won’t be the last. They kept on telling us the water will come back, but we were naive. To be completely honest, not worth a dime, but we had no choice because in Masvingo everything is overpriced.
