Very horrible hotel! We have van der valk account and for 5 years we visited more than 10 different van der valk hotels, but Van der Valk Ara is the worse even though we had best room: Suite with sauna. First of all socket under the table was broken and it was naked cables which is dangerous for kids. Sauna was also not working properly: door is broken and did not close therefore it was cold air coming in and sauna was not hot enough. Bath is the most worse part: no normal crane, if you are enjoying in the bath and want to turn off or on water you need to get out to do it! Pay such a high price for suit with sauna and do not use sauna because it is broken is not acceptable. We called reception at 8 pm and they could not help, the only thing they said: Sorry our manager is busy at the moment and their no maintenance people to fix it, come tomorrow during check out and we will look into give a discount. In the end during the check out manager again was not at the hotel and another woman at the reception said: I cannot give discount if manager is not here. Front office manager only contacted us after reminder a day after check out and requested us to remove review otherwise no discount granted. He also rejected to provide us contact details of his manager. He is continuously sending us emails and we even stop responding, very unprofessional. Never had such a bad experience.

The location of this hotel is great. If you like nature and have the "river view" room. Rooms are spacious and clean. Restaurant improved in the last year. Service for hotel is average compared to international standards.

The room is absolutely delightful for the price, but the restaurant is an absolute disappointment. Not only the food is below average for the price, damn I had better mussels purchased in aldi. The service was so appalling that my husband decided to stay hungry instead of dealing with the staff that kept ignoring us almost deliberately

The suite is very spacious and overlooking the river, very quite clean. The food in the restais really good and good selection of wine. The staff is young and professional It’s the place to stay in this area

The location is incredible. Watching the boats go by. The dinner service probably one of the best we’ve experienced. Warm inviting and very professional. Highly recommended a stay here.

Nice Hotel with great amenities and friendly staff. The view is great from the varanda.

Quiet hotel. Had a large room with a bathtub big enough for comfortable relaxing time. Great breakfast and restaurant for dinner. Beautiful seating area outside for sunny days. Few good choices in the bar if you prefer Belgian beers. For dinner I tried many different dishes. Cold cuts was amazing with too big porsion, but some other dishes was just ok and little bit expensive to be fair. There wasn't a fridge in my room, so plan for that. Very friendly staff, both in restaurant, bar and reception.

We stayed for 4 nights and used the hotel as a base from which to visit Delft and the Hague, both easily reached by train, though the station is about 7km from the hotel. Very comfortable rooms with large bathroom. There is a gym and pool which were both almost empty whenever we used them. Food in the restaurant is extremely good and the bar has a good range of Belgian trappist beers.

Very nice location in the midst of fields and small canals. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but it is very beautiful and up to date in the inside. I loved big heavy looking doors and how light the moved. I had a huge bathroom with everything include. Breakfast was amazing with everything you could wish for. Only thing I missed was a mini bar of small fridge.

Excellent hotel in beautiful surroundings. Big rooms, professional staff, great amenities including plenty of meeting rooms and a full service bar and restaurant. Spectacular breakfast buffet. Located on a sort of nature preserve along a large river. Plenty of trails outside the hotel for walking running or just relaxing. Very cools views of boats and barges going up and down the river. A small ferry just behind the hotel takes you to a charming little Dutch town so you can even get a bit of sightseeing done in the evening. Van Der Valk hotels are always great and this one is no exception!

Room was clean, modern, spacious. We were in room 202 which is corner room next to the elevator which was pretty loud. But at night as everybody was asleep it was fine.
