We arrived on a very warm evening and were welcomed by the staff at the gate. I have read other reviews, luckily there was no cover charge when we visited & since it was Eid, the place was quiet. We were allowed to choose our own seating and chose a large booth. We did not expect this place to be as large as it was. They have done an exceptional job on the décor, the mood lighting, the comfortable seating with cushions. We were all pleased with the ambiance with exception to the music. We even asked if we can request the DJ to play anything else. Since it was a quiet evening, we were attended to quickly. Came here to try the hookah and drinks. Overall, pleased with the hookah. We did have to request a few times to replace the coals. Overall, the washrooms were clean (iykyk) & the service was pleasant.

Very relaxing place, good atmosphere and very relaxing deco! Very good for your afterworks, your friend gatherings... Very well situated in the Hivernage area of the city of Marrakesh.. Easy to reach... The food is good, the bar also with a variety of drinks and cocktails. Definitely recommend it 👍🏼

We visited 10/9/23. Our experience started friendly entrance from door staff then eventually someone sat us down for food. The menu is of Japanese type dishes supposedly! We tried few items the starters where actually nice. Sadly from There it went downhill….The sweet sour shrimp had nothing about it just prawns dumped in sweet sauce. The sushi was ok average at best nothing amazing expected to be executed better! They served sushi without wasabi and ginger had to keep asking for chopsticks. *The service was mediocre at best! First time ever we didn’t leave a tip during our years of travels! Kept asking for basic stuff then asking again and again! Those things never came. I think the staff either forget as the chap who took our order didn’t write anything down. All the waiters seemed to be running around and paying more attention to certain tables where they might thought they would get tips! We asked for mint tea and waited over 30 mins! They charged 170mad odd for the tea! Anyway even getting the bill kept hearing it’s on its way…. 20 mins later it’s coming! There is no urgency I am bit lost with this place! They can’t execute a simple small menu! It’s all glorified wannabe spot. Maybe it would be better if they did tapas style food and changed the menu! The food is not what they market it as! And I feel the place is slightly confused to what it actually is! I hope management read this and sort these issues out!!

Disgraceful service! Don’t get served. Request have to be made several times. Waiting for drinks for over half an hour! No point ordering shisha they don’t give you new coals. Don’t waste your money! Haven’t got too much patience for English felt totally unwelcome from the off set. Sick to the Four Seasons or La Mamounia if you want top draw service

Came here to smoke hookah, did not know this is a night club vibes type place as well. Entry fee was $50 to get in which is outrageous. Nice vibes though if you plan to party I just don’t think it’s worth it for the money and pricing.

We came to Marrakech for the first time and stayed at Sofitel Marrakech. Then we found their awesome lounge spot called So Lounge. Overall I had the best service experience out of all the places we went to eat (and for shisha). Ayoub at So Lounge is AMAZING. He’s attentive, friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure you’re comfortable (one of the nights where he wasn’t our wait staff, he came over to ensure things were going well). Whether or not you decide to stay at Sofitel (note Friday/Saturday non hotel residents pay a cover) - make sure to check out So Lounge and ask for Ayoub.

I was asked for 300dhms each just to come in! And their was 6. What kind of joke is this? Why would I pay you, just to come in and take a seat to spend money and pay your establishment? We wanted Shisha, food and drinks and for wanting such a ridiculous amount of money you lost customers for life. We went to Buddah bar which is by far a better restaurant for food and shisha for that matter. Sort yourself out, look like beggars. Must be a Moroccan thing, am used to seeing this from Moroccans. I'm sure they'd sell their own mothers for an extra bit of money.

A lousy experience. It took them 45 minutes to bring us a bottle of jack daniels. Total disorganization among the waiters. We asked to speak to the manager and he did not help us in any way. Won't come back never

Entrance fee of €30, followed by exorbitant prices: €19 for an ordinary cocktail Service is mediocre, with a cold welcome and no smile. It feels like a factory Visited on a Saturday night at 11:30 p.m., no atmosphere with only a hip-hop sound system. You can find much (much) better in Marrakech

Cosmopolitan didn’t taste good, nor didn’t look. Alcohol is hardly noticeable. Weird questions about the alcohol ban on Moroccans even we’re Europeans. Shared seats, despite many available tables. I mentioned that we wanna have some privacy as a couple. Generally disrespectful. For an evening drink I expect a bit more from a 5 star hotel…

The atmosphere was nice outside, although it was dreadfully empty. For no reason, they decided to sit us inside because it was “going to rain.” They asked nobody else to go inside, just us. The shisha we ordered was more expensive than what we would pay for in europe! The drinks were 30% drink 70% ice. For the expensive price of the drinks, we definitely expected more. Our advice, dont go here. Go to nobu hotel or somewhere else.

SCAM: Beware of entrance fee scam. At the gate, they asked us to pay MAD 300 person saying that it includes drinks. When we wanted to pay the bill, they claimed it only included one drink, something they failed to mention at the entrance. I didn’t expect this kind of scam at a brand like Sofitel, but I have learned my lesson about Sofitel Marrakesh!

I did not expect in 2022 to have dress code in order to enter a bar. And I was not dressed like going to the beach. They do not allow shorts. I wonder what they expect to wear with this hot weather.

I often frequent the Sofitel Hotel and I recently rediscovered the So Lounge. The manager Souhaila and her team made us especially welcome and comfortable! Our waiter (Abderzak) learned our drinks for our next visit and the whole experience was just so seamless. Thanks to Souhaila, I honestly feel like going here every time I’m entertaining friends because she made us feel like such “VIPs”

The place looks beautiful with the lights and the garden. The service was good and they even took us with an umbrella because it was raining. I just think they could use the space better because it was empty when the restaurants nearby were fully booked. Food was good too!

The Sofitel Marrakech Discotheque is a fantastic venue with a lively ambiance and captivating live acts. The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, making it an excellent choice for a night out. The live performances add an extra touch of entertainment and excitement, creating a truly memorable experience. The combination of great music, friendly staff, and a stylish setting makes the discotheque a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a fun and enjoyable night in Marrakesh. 🔥👏🏻

Great lounge, good drinks, good service. We went on a Tuesday evening and there was a DJ playing good music. Nice way to spend the evening or wait for the club to open next door. We didn't eat there so I can't comment on food.

Nice place to visit. Great atmosphere with great shisha. If not for the food it would be 5 star but beyond that, there are no faults. The magician Younes is a good addition and his performances are definitely worth it.

Great lounge. Nice music. Relaxing atmosphere. We were the only ones without smoking and without shisha. Nice open fire. Wine below average. Sorry to say. Food —> not good. Poor fried sushi. Probably never been in Japan of Japanese restaurant. If you order shisha and beer probably a great evening.

My husband and I felt like we were in a lovely atmosphere during our visit to So Lounge. I ordered Thai Chicken curry which was full of flavour but a slightly small portion and not value for money. The shisha was good but again this and the food was slightly over priced. The service was great especially in regards to language, as we English speaking and a lot of wait staff were either French or Arabic speaking. The music wasn’t too loud and so we were able to enjoy the evening. The shisha was nice and was approx. 300 MAD.

Great experience. Very good and friendly and talented Magician on premises. Did really good magic trick was extremely friendly and passionate about magic I enjoyed his short show. Shisha was decent as well.

Shisha was great, staff refreshed coal regularly, drinks were good through on the expensive side. The atmosphere and acts were very good too. Would have been a 5 star review but was overcharged for my drinks and had to argue to pay the correct price. Shame because I would have left a tip!

the vibe was nice enough but we now have food poisoning after eating dinner here!!! i have had to take a day off work which has cost me money and i’m in agony with sharp pains in my stomach and vomiting. i can see another patron has mentioned they had food poisoning a week ago so it’s not just me!

We went here with friends for a night out. We arrived around 1am, at which point the place wasn't very full. Most of the crowd consisted of older tourists. By around 3am the place filled up a bit more, with a younger and more local crowd. The music was average - too many throwback hits like Pitbull and Flo Rida. The service was excellent though. Because we were a large group of friends, we still had fun, but not sure we'd go back.

I came to Marrakech for m’y honey moon with my husband and came to this restaurant the food gave us food poisoning we were vomiting for 2 days straight. The prices were extortionate and the service wasnt great the girl who greeted us was rude, the waiter got our order wrong and the manager was less than friendly and made us feel uncomfortable. I will not be returning again. As I am someone who is Moroccan heritage and I was less than impressed with what I was presented that day with.

Great food, great vibe, but fairly expensive (to be expected when part of a hotel). Limited menu.

  • 3/5 Matt G. 1 year ago on Google
So Lounge strikes the perfect balance between pure tranquility and pure buzz. The atmosphere is sublime and the lounge is complemented by a dusky hue paralleled by no other shisha bar. There are two reasons why I knocked two stars off: Firstly, the price of the beer is outrageous. It was going to cost us £30 to order three small beers, and it was almost £30 for a half-bottle of wine. The shisha was reasonably priced, but I wouldn't recommend the Love 66 because it was fairly tasteless. We switched it for the apple shisha which was much nicer. Secondly, the service was below average and our coals were not topped up at regular intervals like you would normally expect. Overall worth visiting, but be prepared to spend a lot if you want to drink alcohol.

One of the beautiful places in Marrakesh to visit if you don’t mind spending some cash 💰, bare in mind the place is restricted 🚫 and they might reject your entry base on their likes or dislikes. In general the food is good, the shisha is the best and the performance is great. Definitely give it a go

  • 3/5 Kirsty W. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing atmosphere, music and looks but it lost 2 stars as waiting over 20 minutes for drinks isn't good service. Lady in all white heels and short dark hair was very lovely!

Went there for dinner after many recommendations but had the worst experience and will never recommend to anyone. Had the worst service, food served without plates. When asked for plates, had to over 15 mins for plates whilst all food went cold. Not one apology from waiter (apparently his name was Mouji but then manager Mehdi said waiters name is actually Soufien, his name changed twice in one conversation and so have added photo of waiter) Service fee of 5% was added to bill, asked to take it off and the manager refused. Basically avoid at all costs, we left after starters and went Buddha bar which is way better!

Celebrated my birthday here. Only went for a meal and drinks. The live band sang happy birthday too me unexpectedly, I was caught off guard but loved every second of it. The staff work very hard to keep their customers happy. Everything about this place is 10/10

I personally did not find any wow factor in that place. Food was not that tasty for the price they offered, I was expecting better . Singers were like those in the all inclusive hotels. Got bored easily and had to leave early around 11pm. Staff were very kind and nice to deal with. They really could do better if they invested in a very good music band.
