Ferruh Kethüda Mosque was built in 1562-63 by Ferruh Ağa, who was the kethüda, or steward, of Semiz Ali Pasha, the grand vizier of Suleiman the Magnificent. The mosque, which is the work of Mimar Sinan, became famous under the name Balat Lodge because it was used as a lodge belonging to the Sünbüliye branch of the Halvetiyye sect during the Ottoman period. Other parts of the lodge were destroyed and disappeared over time. Only the mosque and the fountain have survived from the social complex. The mihrab of the mosque is completely covered with precious tiles produced by Tekfur Palace. Other Tekfur tiles on its walls were stolen and destroyed in the 1940s. The mosque, which has a sundial on the qibla wall, is a modest building with a flat tile roof. There is a small ornamental pool in the garden, which was built later.

It was built by the kethüda (steward) of Sultan Suleiman's grand vizier, as it is known by its name. His grave is located in the burial area in front of the mosque. One of the masterpieces of Mimarbaşı, which attracts attention as it is a work of Mimar Sinan... It attracts attention with its long wooden-looking porticoes on its main façade, it looks really different.

The mosque has a housing problem. It is said that the imam is not coming for this reason. Although the site of the mosque is suitable for lodging, why has this problem not been solved for years? Today, when rental prices are at their peak, mosques without lodgings become orphans. Cleanliness, environmental structure cleanliness is excellent...
