As before a byzantine warehouse inside this historic place are two companions (sahaba I qiram) of Prophet Muhammed s.a.w and a Tabiin. Their names are Wahb bin Hushayra r.a. (real maqam) , Amr bin As R. a. (honorary maqam) and Sufian bin Uyayna r.a. They came with the Hazrat Ayyub al Ansari r. a. For the first Islamic siege of Constantinopolis. They were captured and imprisoned here. The byzantine left them to die here without giving any food and water but a miracle happened here as there is a well behind one of the Graves (I drank from it, we are close to the sea 50 mt. It is fresh and pure like bottled cold water.) Allah the most merciful granted them water from this well.

(Translated by Google) It is written as a dungeon, so it does not resemble the mosque or the mosque we are accustomed to. Low, dark, too often have colon, the congregation can not even keep pure. It is very nice to have Companions, there are Muslims from every nation coming with respect, there is indeed a very nice feeling in the rooms where the Companions lie or there is peace. If you haven't seen it, go for it, feel that spirituality. You know there is no distinction, but I feel that there is a terrible strong feeling next to the single companions, sit in your room, sit in a different dimension, as if you were in your presence when you lived, as if you were listening to you, I never took pictures of this, so you do not evaluate the mosque, our ancestors have a known, mosques said mosques, but the Companions to be there as the mosque is very beautiful everywhere, customs, grandmothers, who can not read the inscriptions hanging on the wall, the horul in the mosque sleepers awful, out of the snoring prayer, making no worship . We Turks did not sleep in the mosque, where it came from.

Very beautiful underground mosque, very clean and old you can enter from 2 gateswhich lead to a short tunnel down. You can come from the sea side or from tophane side The space is dark, illuminated with just a few lamps and some strident green fluorescents that illuminate the ancient tombs of two Muslims (Sahaba) .Maqam When you come out you can find a very delicious sweets track an old helpful man who sell a delicious rice pudding y( Sütlaç) You can pass by and try it.

This is a really unique underground mosque. We felt completely at peace here when we entered. The place is very quiet and intimate, with dim lighting and some green lights in the areas with the tombs. It's a completely different mosque than the ones we had visited and it's a charming and beautiful place.

The mosque was unique. The design was nice and rare compared to other mosque. It has the vibe of a underground mosque. Felt like praying in Al-Marwani mosque in Al-Aqsa.

(Translated by Google) The Yeraltı Camii mosque is located in the Karakoy region, dating back to the year 570, and it is said that it was used as a store by the Byzantines, and after a while it was transformed into a mosque. They participated in the siege of Constantinople in 714 ......... A very old underground mosque located in the Karakoy neighborhood of Beyoğlu, it is small compared to other famous mosques of Istanbul but has it's own charm. It is said that it was originally built as fortress to control the acces of the Golden Horn. Worth a visit.

September 2018. Really nice mosque with resting place of some of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), hence making it a must visit. If I recall correctly, there's a small nominal fee for using the wudu facilities.

(Translated by Google) There is a mosque with 3 tombs that I have been going to for 30 years. While the city lines were the business manager, our place was very close. We were working on the sinking pier .. now it was replaced by a very small one. It was a mosque that we visited very often between 2005 and 2008. A place that should be visited and seen.

Used to be a tower during the conquest. One end of the conqueror Mehmed II’s chain was tied to this former tower to prevent the Byzantine navy from crossing the strait. The mosque resembles basilica cistern in terms of its interiors. Also hosts 3 Sahabah in it.

I only gave it 3 stars because this isn't a must see place for tourists. For many this is simply a dark and boring place. It's free to visit, and won't take too much of your time. The choices is entirely up to you, and you may end up being disappointed. The only special thing is that it is supported by a lot of colums because as the name suggests, it is literally underground.
