👍👍 Excellent ancient wat about 700 years old. The ruins are have been unearthed and kept in good condition. It’s an essential stop when touring Wiang kum kam, the old capital of the Lanna Kingdom.
Update: in late 2022, there was severe flooding, which has left the ruins somewhat submerged in a swamp....

Ruins of Wat E-Khang

😐 Excavation of this site occurred in 1985 to reveal the current structures. It's believed that heavy flooding at some point in time deposited 2 meters of sand and soil in this area which was removed during the restoration. Nice spacious grounds.
