Nice big location lots of parking. Prices are high and it is always busy. The place gets super crowded and you need to wait for a machine. A bit more cleaning would be great. The place gets cleaned once only and cleaning machines is not enforced.

Nice and new gym. It's one large open space that has tons of cardio and weight lifting equipment. Even though the place is large it feels crowded between 3:00-5:00PM. All the equipment is new and the place is well kept. I just wish they had split the cardio and weight section to make it feel less crowded.

I go to multiple good life locations in Ottawa and this location is consistently the dirtiest with regard to the workout area. There is always thick layers of dirt between, behind and on the equipment. The image I included is the hip abduction machine. There squat racks are dirty with hair and dirt on and around them. The Hunt club location is 100x cleaner than this location.

Nice sized gym, you can find most of the equipment you need here. The for women section is neat. I always encounter a particular employee at the front desk when I come in. She never smiles, borlerline rude, never say please or thank you, and appears that she's better than everyone else. The gym is supposed to have a welcoming environment and I don't feel it when I come in for a workout. I just moved here from Kingston, their staff at Goodlife are so much better in every way compared to this one, there is no hi and bye here, staff are always chatting among themselves. Very sad.

Esthetically, the nicest GoodLife in Ottawa, but staff is the worst. With the exception of few employees, most of the frontline employees look like they don't want to be there, with the worst attitude. Replacing them with a brick would be better for the business. Almost every GoodLife allows personal training area to be used on weekends as it's empty. This location only allows it to the employees. Nobody can walk around maskless, but the employees can. Talk about preferential treatment. Ultimately, management is to blame for allowing all of this to happen. The staff at this location gives GoodLife as a brand a bad reputation.

Rude customer service, my boyfriend and his brother went in to get a tour of the place and he was extremely rude to them. After receiving this treatment, we have found another gym else where with much better customer service. Customer service rep had long hair and i believe his name was Al or Ali not sure but we are super disappointed as usually they are super friendly here.

Gym spaceitself is good(spacious, adequate machines), however staff really need to pay closer attention to cleaning and sanitizing machines. I always clean machines very well before and after, machines are disgusting covered in dust, particularly in women’s only section. Expected to get a “sorry this was your experience” response with little change. Probably won’t be renewing membership, staff are often seen throwing a ball around by the front desk rather than cleaning. Hate to complain but this has been going on for too long and people need to be aware. So much pride used to go into regular cleans of machines, not sure what happened.

Were at the gym today (10:30 pm). There was no announcement of early of closure. One of the staff members came and said, “are you trying to comfortable or something… I have to go home now…” How the hell are we supposed to know that you are short staff and are closing early today. The guy made us feel super uncomfortable and was really rude. It shouldn’t be like that. A gym is supposed to be a place to work out and relax and not a place to be harassed by the staff members.

Great open space. Lots of equipment. Centrally located so it's very crowded during peak hours and tough to find squat racks then. The receptionist(s) often never pay attention to the members. I don't really care if they greet me but it's nice to feel valued when they do. The members don't do a great job of putting the plates back in their appropriate slots so that's always annoying but that's not the gym's fault.

Hot saunas and cold showers are a mandatory part of my exercise regiment. Time management is also extremely important to me. Karen has poor business/gym etiquette. She told me I could only have 1 towel due to a towel shortage. I explained to her that my membership covers 2 towels. 1 for the shower and one for the sauna. I explained to her that I would have to put my clothes on and walk back to the desk for my 2nd shower towel. She told me that she had to ration the towels for all members. Long story short, after my cold shower i dried myself with toilet paper😆🤦‍♂️Seems to me that they were not up to par with their laundry which resulted in a towel shortage. That's a goodlife problem that members like myself should not have to deal with. 1 more thing, the sauna had mold and ants in it. I will not be going back to this location.

Only gripe is they occasionally hire less than pleasant staff, and there's only one power rack... which no one uses for squats and it's really annoying.

Spacious and very clean gym. Lots of machines and lots of free weights. There’s a few studios including a hot yoga studio (extra charge). The only thing I would change is the size of their towels. They’re very small

Best GoodLife in Ottawa, Good spacing between machines, Lots of natural lighting helps you wake up in the morning! Fairly busy between 3-9pm but the staff do a good job of keeping the gym clean. If you’re a person that sweats easily, I recommend a long sleeve or sweater since the big fans here are pretty strong

Very spacious gym, a lot of different workout sections. Particularly like the yoga room as its more quiet and can do couple HIIT workouts 💪🏻

This gym is packed. You want to have a proper workout, you have to spend 2 hrs at least. They should put live counts on how many people are inside the gym so we know when it is less busy.

Started my Pre authorised membership without any notification. GM claims email sent bit no email was sent. Membership was little higher where we could stop and start as need be. I tried to reason with GM at the Heron Gate Centre without any reasonable customer service. Will not be going to this location.

There are 5 squat racks (2 of which have dry bases to properly do deadlifts). From 9am to 12 am, they are ALWAYS busy. If you ask to use the "Personal Training" rack when no one is using it, some of the fitness trainers yell at you. There is limited space between the treadmills so you are literally breathing in the air of the person beside you. They have ellipticals and other skiing cardio machines WHICH NO ONE USES !! Those machines just take up space. The water fountains are literally button activated like this is 1873. Planet fitness has sensor activated water fountains where you just place your bottle and the water comes out. The water fountains are also on the other side of the world from the weights so you have to charter a flight to refill your water bottle. And unless you've engraved your name into the machine you were using, chances are someones taken it!! The TVs are running channels that barely fit the screen, so if youre watching an important NBA Finals Game, you can only guess who is winning. All this for the lovely price of 35$ BIWEEKLY!! 70 FOR THE MONTH!! WHAT A STEAL!

Newest facility in Ottawa, but the staff with whom I signed my membership with, forget about my cup, my free personal trainer trail and my face in about a week! His name is Aria or something. If you want a membership in this Goodlife, better find someone else

Member for over 5 years. Decided to try a few sessions with a personal trainer. Best decision I made! I’m training with Jake Rollings, what a solid guy. He listened to what I wanted to gain out of it, and delivered. The weights and diverse training are right on point. The key thing for me is when I’m mentally and physically exhausted, he says the right things to keep me going. 10/10 I’m definitely going to keep going with him till the end of the year.

Signed up for personal training for 6 months, one of the best decisions I made. Rami, is amazing; everything I was looking for in a trainer. He encouraged me when I thought I couldn’t do anymore reps, helped me to have a healthier relationship with food and always kind. Thanks Rami for everything!

A solid 6/10 gym. First, the gym is very compact and everything is closely in proximity with another. There are many benches and squat racks but this doesnt apply to other machines/equipment . This raises a problem, I went in at peak hours and had to wait at least 5-10 mins at every machine since they only had one of each. Speaking of peak hours, be ready to workout with at least 100 other people with very close proximity. Not to mention that the people that go there are mostly “gym bros” that hog machines forever and chat with their friends while others are waiting (this can apply to any gym), but becomes severe with the lack of equipment. lastly comes the price you pay, for almost $90 a month, just go to the fit4less down the street for $15 bucks a month, with more modern equipment. Big mention, they do have a wide variety of cardio machines. Overall, not the worst gym out there but definitely not worth the price you pay.

I had a bad experience with Tyler the front desk person. He has been making disgusting comments about me and has told his coworkers these comments than eventually made their way to me. I reported this to Chantal the assistant manager because there is no general manager. She told me she can’t deal with it right now and was dealing with another issue I had reported that led to me having to leave the gym. My friend had left the gym with me because Tyler had made unpleasant comments about her too. Keep in mind I have been attending this gym since June 2022. Before that I would go to lansdown, Orleans, and Kanata goodlife and I didn’t have any issues arise there. Overall, I’m happy with the end result of me attending another CLEAN gym with respectable workers who care for my safety and concerns. Unfortunately I have received messages from friends at goodlife that Tyler is making many rumours about why I left, sorry to say this but that guy is very disrespectful when people don’t entertain his comments. I’m not the only girl. But one of few who’ve come forward. I felt the need to make this review due to the fact hearing from numerous people at the gym that Tyler is spreading rumours. I wanted this situation to be private not escalating to review this gym but I am left with no voice as I can’t attend that gym so I will be leaving this review.

Family membership is a scam. If me and my gf got individual memberships it'd cost us $458 each or $916 total for the year for both of us. Now thinking we could save some money and go to the next plan up which includes filler services and "NO Pool" as they don't have one.. Now if we were to go that route to "Save money" itd cost me 510 on my own and than adding her to the plan (+$412) for a discount would be $922 $922-$916 So if you want to save money and get the family plan you'd actually be spending $6 more for the first year so not saving any money and the services you get well again it's filler meaning there's no value and the one thing that is somewhat of value is non existent at this location.. The following year you'd start saving since I imagine you don't have to pay a yearly enrollment fee. but who knows their maybe other hidden fees. But what you save the following year is $816-$792 So that gives you a 2% cost saving for the following years provided you spend more the first year. That's laughable Otherwise the gym is cleaner than movati and more spacious. Could use more water fountains and a few more squat racks. Staff is friendly & welcoming

Large open space with plenty of weights, bikes, and machines for your exercise needs. If you are a member there is a dry sauna, a standing or lying down tanning bed, and towel service. Many classes going on constantly like yoga and CrossFit. Trainers are friendly, but not as crazy to push you into paid training sessions as some gyms (that is a good thing). Still very helpful if have a question or need a spot. Plenty of lockers but you need your own lock if you enjoy keeping your things. 24 hours, can get pretty full during peek hours so go early or later in the night if you don't like waiting.

Misplaced my headphones and noticed within 12 hours. Staff said they put them aside for me, and when I go to pick up, they look at me like I’m dumb and can’t find them. Won’t show me tapes, can’t access anything until Monday, and the guy working the counter didn’t even know the managers name. Waiting to hear back from them, could update my opinion on how the handle the liability of $400 headphones. Update: was told they couldn’t access the managers office on the weekend, and they “found” them on a Sunday. Very interesting story considering I watched the other employee tell me he looked in there. Got them back, so I’ll update to 2 stars. Second edit: Manager was nice so 3 stars.

I usually only like to leave good reviews, however, this is one of the dirtiest GoodLife Fitness locations I’ve been too - I’ve been going here for months and the women’s change room and washroom are always a mess and very very dirty, regardless of what time of day it is. The customer service is also very weak, as I never get greeted while entering or leaving which is not a big deal but very different from what other locations do. It’s hard to receive help for problems or questions. Sanitation bottles are always empty. However, I come to this location for the women’s only section and the large size of the gym.

ABSOLUTE BEST gym in the city! Anyone who would complain is either not gym person or just likes to complain. Plain and simple.

This is my overall experience with this goodlife fitness since it was opened. Staff was pretty nice I can say, towel always available if you need it, I barely use their towel tbh. Biggest goodlife gym in Ottawa I guess, a lot of equipment and space, and they did a pretty good job at keeping the gym clean. About personal training, well it is expensive, no matter what level of trainer. I have sign with a level 4 trainer for 6 month and get some incredible result regarding to muscle gain, if you looking for a PT here, sign with level 4 or 5, below that is just a waste of money and time. Remember to ask before sign, take your free trail to judge if the trainer is good or not, and say no if you don’t want the person or sign for such a long term contract, you always have the choice. Covid 19: Reason of 3 star for all goodlife associations. No membership fee reduction for canceling hot yoga, towel, sauna and shorter workout time. Staff not aware of wearing face mask, and causing several infection of covid 19 of associates (2 times since reopening).

Been a good location for workouts. Would be 3.5 stars instead of 4. Reason why is a couple years ago, I suffered a foot injury from dropping a weight plate on my foot (injury was my own fault). While the managers were good and helped provide first aid, they failed to follow up with me when they said they would. You would think a place would want to follow up when someone gets hurt and see how they were doing.
