Maiden's Tower (Kız Kulesi) is a small tower on a small island at the southern entrance to the Bosphorus, about 200 meters from the coast of Uskudar in Istanbul. It was said about the reason for its construction, that there was a sultan who loved his daughter very much, and he had a dream that on his daughter’s eighteenth birthday, she would be bitten by a snake and take her life. The father did not find a way to protect his daughter except to keep her away from dry land, as he blocked part of the Bosphorus Strait, and built a tower for her in an attempt to eliminate the possibility of any snake reaching her.

"Maiden's Tower: A Marvelous Experience by the Bosphorus" My visit to Maiden's Tower was nothing short of enchanting. Perched gracefully at the meeting point of Europe and Asia, this historic tower is a true gem nestled in the heart of Istanbul, Turkey. I had heard tales of its beauty, but experiencing it firsthand exceeded all expectations. Approaching the tower by boat, the silhouette of Maiden's Tower against the backdrop of the Bosphorus is a sight to behold. The play of light on its ancient stone walls adds a magical touch, especially during sunset when the hues of the sky dance in harmony with the tower's architecture. Upon entering, I was captivated by the rich history that envelops every corner of the Maiden's Tower. The knowledgeable staff shared fascinating stories and legends, immersing visitors in the tower's past as a lighthouse, customs station, and even a quarantine hospital. The panoramic views from the observation deck are unparalleled. The Istanbul skyline, with its mix of modern and historic structures, creates a mesmerizing tapestry. It's the perfect spot to capture breathtaking photographs or simply lose yourself in the beauty of the surroundings. The Maiden's Tower also boasts a delightful restaurant that offers a culinary journey reflecting the diversity of Turkish cuisine. I indulged in a feast of flavors while enjoying the warm hospitality of the staff. The combination of delectable dishes and the serene atmosphere created a dining experience to remember. What makes Maiden's Tower truly special is its versatility. Whether you are a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or someone seeking a romantic setting, the tower caters to all. It serves as a symbol of Istanbul's rich cultural tapestry and stands as a testament to the city's timeless allure. In conclusion, a visit to Maiden's Tower is a must for anyone exploring Istanbul. It's not just a historic landmark; it's a living testament to the city's past, present, and future. My experience was nothing short of magical, leaving me with cherished memories and a deep appreciation for the beauty that Maiden's Tower adds to Istanbul's captivating skyline.

AVOID!!!!!! It's a rip-off. 600 Lira and it's totally empty inside. After the renovations, they removed the tower bar, no place to sit except outside, restaurant and souvenir stand is gone. Zero value. Do not waste your money.

Sieht schön aus von außen. Leider sind wir nicht rein gegangen, da wir nur einen kurzen Aufenthalt hatten und zusätzlich den Eintritt zu teuer fanden.

Nice historical place... I recommend visiting on weekdays to avoid crowded queues. It will not take you more than 30 minutes to see the whole location before you return to the shore. P.s. boat scheduled every 30 minutes, not every 15 minutes as you might find during your online search.

The Maiden's Tower is a true Istanbul icon, and after its recent recreation, it has become even more enchanting! Google Maps made finding this gem a breeze. The blend of modern amenities with the tower's historic charm creates a magical atmosphere. The panoramic views of the city skyline are simply breathtaking, especially during sunset. The attention to detail in the restoration is commendable, and the interior showcases a perfect fusion of tradition and contemporary style. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Maiden's Tower is a must-visit spot, easily accessible through Google Maps. A timeless destination that beautifully bridges the past and present!

The boat ride to the tower is nice. The tower is impressive since it has a history behind it. My advice is visit in good weather so you can sit by the sea for a cup of coffee also.
