My family and myself went for food on 17/02/2023. What an experience it was. The food was superb and also the service from the staff. The Caledonian burger was out of this world. Sorry I left 3 chips but thank you so much.

I come here almost three times a week and always get served by Jordan who never fails to make us laugh! He’s brilliant with my dad and they have the best banter between them. Keep up the excellent work Jordan

We visited here for the first time last week, food was delicious and very clean. The gent behind the bar Jordan had a great sense of humour, and is an absolute credit to you.

Absolutely love a Spoons! You get what you see.... Nice and cheap for food and drinks, use the app and get direct service to your table! Lovely staff too!

Every time we visit Aberdeen we go here. Wheelchair accessible with good accessible toilet. I have also gone on my own. I order on the app, which is really good. Great food, friendly and helpful staff. Never had a long wait even though it can get really busy 😉

Consistently good food, very reasonable prices, particularly the ales. I've got too used to London prices! Using the app removes some staff interaction, but all were friendly. 3 snall plates for lunch were more than enough for me...

Always liked this pub. Friendly service. Comfortable atmosphere (unlike Archibald Simpson). Beer as all 'spoons houses excellent. Recommend for a quite drink on ones own or a drink with friends. Good starting place for a night out.

Birthday hangout with friends ruined!!!!!!! Had bad encounter. Had to call to make enquires to have a birthday hangout with about 8 friends. Time to go was stated to them. We got there, found our seats, and were ready to order our food. Got to the counter ordered the first meal and was ready to pay where one attendant told us they will need to inspect our ID cards after 8pm. Meanwhile, we called the previous day to make enquiries and if that is the case, should it not be better to be told before coming? This ruined our day and we had to settle somewhere and frankly the birthday ruined. was never happy with that.

Not too sure of current laws, but staff not wearing masks, some wearing below the chin, including table service. Service was awful. Not like it used to be. Used to be great here. I will not return, and that brings my friends too. Good loss of near 800 quid a weekend to them. Their loss. Goodbye. Worst of all, WHY WEAR A MASK IF YOUR NOT WEARING IT PROPERLY. SHE SHOULD BE SACKED.

Typical Wetherspoons, my only issue was the first night we went there, the staff didn't uphold the Covid rules for Scotland. Allowed a party of more than 12 to sit together, less than a metre from where we were sitting. Kept bumpy my partners chair and were not always wearing masks as depicted in the rules when they walked past us.

Plenty of seating available. Downloaded their app to order food. Easy to use, service was brilliant. Received my drink whilst meal being prepared. Ordered baked potato and 5 bean chilli. Meal portion was very generous! (Not like Wetherspoons' servings in England which serves a very meagre salad portion; take note English pubs!) Could actually see 5 different beans in the chilli (again, take note England!) Staff polite and friendly

Had to wait here for my partner, had unlimited coffee for cheap and we had a big lunch before we took the train to Edinburgh. Good place and large, plenty of seats, breakfast is good and the bacon tastes better in Scotland than England.

Great drinks, great prices, great staff apart from one woman who looked incredibly angry all the time. But superb spot vibes were on point

This place was very good for chilling with family. Very reasonable price too and the staff were very friendly. We made this our local the two days we were there.

You can get a decent and affordable meal here and of course, the drinks are cheaper than most pubs.

Came here on my own, it's 1 of 2 Wetherspoons in the heart of Aberdeen along with The Archibald Simpson a short distance away. It's another decent Wetherspoons, staff are being attentive & the food quality is great.

Updated review from 6 years ago, first time in a long time since I've been here, still feels the same, good mix of ages, some cosmetic upgrades but still a good meeting point to kick-start a night out. Usually very busy at the weekends, which is a good sign, getting a table is a hit or a miss, got to be in sharp. Waiting time to be served at the bar can be lengthy on a busy night unless you catch the eye of the bartender, but understand that they are exceptionally busy serving other people, but you will get served. Staff are friendly, and the door stewards are friendly and chatty.

All good and fair. Decent prices and at least transparent regarding nutrition info, allergies, etc. They could improve the amount of vegetarian/vegan dishes and put more greens on the menu, however, maybe people just want regular pub food anyways. Great variety of beverages (non/alc) is offered. More desert options would be a nice improvement. There is no direct service at the table, one has to order by app or at the bar. The service staff is very friendly and I hope they get paid well.

Visited for breakfast, good sized portion, great flavour, unlimited coffee an added bonus. All at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this start to the day..

I had a good time here. This is a very commendable restaurant. It is conveniently located in the heart of Aberdeen's commercial activities (Union Street) and has wonderful atmosphere. Ordering food was very easy, as I was able to just scan a bar code on a menu and order through my phone. The waiter was very polite and professional, and the food was tasty. I recommend the medium rare steak. I also found the prices to be very reasonable. There is no parking outside, however, as the entrance is located right on the street, so that might be an issue for some people.

A decent pub. The food isn't haute cuisine, but it is spoons and you aren't paying for haute cuisine, so price vs quality it's completely acceptable. Service is good, have been going there for a couple of years now and it's nice to see that a lot of the staff are still working there. Overall, I'd give it a big thumbs up especially when as an Englishman, I ended talking with a couple of local guys as though I'd known them for years - no amount of money could buy that kind of vibe. Love it and Love Aberdeen.

worst spoons breakfast I’ve ever had by a mile, mushrooms weirdly dry and almost plasticky. Tattie scone sort of bloated and sweet, bacon cold and pale. Spoons breakfasts are usually pretty reliable, but this one was awful

  • 5/5 Robbie H. 7 months ago on Google
Collin gave excellent service. Brought my food to my table in such grace and style, and ensured that I was catered for in a way I've never seen in any other Wetherspoons before. He brought a smile and a laugh to a quiet day, and it's something I'll remember 11/10

  • 1/5 Margaret E. 1 year ago on Google
Service was terrible they could have least smiled. The food was disgusting plate of chips and cheese where was the cheese what there was wasn't even melted and no cutlery for it. Small brunch beans were cold could have bounce the egg off the wall had to get our own condiments. They couldn't even get those for us and 2 of us were disabled. We will not be returning any time soon .

Up in Aberdeen for a few days. always have a look at the locals Spoons. Popped in for breakfast and to meet up with some friends. The Justice Mill was friendly and clean. Asked a couple of locals for some directions and all were obliging. The full Scottish Breakfast with Haggis was fantastic. Nice to get a breakfast in Spoons where the beans are still hot. Filled us up for a day exploring around the area. Of course, we couldn't be rude and waited till 10am to try the beer the Belhaven 80 Schilling was fantastic, nice head on it that lasted down the glass. Spoons need to get this beer down south. All in all, a very nice Spoons and when up in Aberdeen again will definitely visit.

Excellent evening here. Place was bouncing and MUSIC 🎵 on. Not a spot of bother. Everyone enjoying themselves. Possibly because of Scotland football win! ⚽👍

Had a great breakfast in here . Was nice to see loads of sectioned off areas to help with COVID restrictions . The staff where friendly able to order and pay via the app is amazing no waiting at the bar . The food took no time at all to arrive and an excellent price and free refills on the coffee always an advantage more caffeine the better 😄 . Good job guys keep it up

Not sure if it wasnjsut post pandemic pint but this was one of the best and coldest pints I have had in such a long time. From (covid-19) checking-in to all staff who attended with food and drink they were welcoming and suck quick service. Great wee place to visit for drinks and pub food.

Great atmosphere.. company was great .. where we were sitting at the back of the place was cold. I would mention that the food itself was good . Steak was a little fatty and overdone as we wanted medium .. the food was not very hot but we enjoyed it just the same..

  • 5/5 Jonathan T. 2 years ago on Google
All excellent except two out of 3 waiters who served us did not wear. Masks and spoke over our food. They were all wearing gloves, so not sure why not masks. Apart from that, all was great.

  • 5/5 Laura D. 2 years ago on Google
Ate here this morning with my wee girl and it was great. Had a Scottish breakfast and juice, was tasty. Defo not freshly cooked to order much like all wetherspoons I would imagine but decent all the same. Staff were just lovely and so accommodating. Thanks so much guys xxx

I love this place. Simple but effective. Lots of variety on the menu. You get just about everything and the food is good too! Orders arrive super quickly even when busy. Great place

  • 2/5 Eck Z. 1 year ago on Google
In serious need of a refurb! Just popped in here for a pint whilst visiting Aberdeen and one was enough! Friendly bar staff but the place was dirty, carpets and seating stained and unwelcoming. Atmosphere was dark and dingy and tables lying uncleared from previous guests. The only good thing so that the drink is cheap but that wasn’t enough to tempt us back during our three day stay.

  • 2/5 Vicki S. 1 year ago on Google
The bar was very obviously have MAJOR understaffing issues during our visit! We visited for lunch on 13/8/22 approx 12.30pm, maybe a touch after. The were a good number of free tables but they still had breakfast dishes on them. We cleared the dishes off ours and sat, realising quite quickly that if we were waiting for the tables to be cleaned first that we’d be disappointed. We ordered through the app; my sister ordering for herself and her daughter a few minutes after I’d ordered for myself, son and daughter. After half an hour we received our drinks. Over 50mins after ordering, my sister and niece’s food arrived. You’d have thought the waitress would have wondered about the fact she was delivering only two meals to a table with five people sitting at it but she bustled away, beginning to clear away some of the breakfast dishes which were still sitting out. Five minutes later and still no food for myself and kids, I managed to catch her attention. I was told quite cheerfully that they were busy with food so we could expect a 40min wait. I explained that we were well past that mark but by this point her attention was on other things. Five mins later, our food arrived. On the positive, it was hot and presentable. The kids enjoyed theirs, I left half of mine. My sister had a bit of a hoohah trying to gain access to a toilet with a baby changing facility too, but I don’t know enough detail about what happened to expand more. By that point I was just wanting to get out. I will not be rushing back, that’s for sure! I get the impression that nobody will be that fussed though.

Nice meal for the price, hot, tasty and quite large. The only let down was the wait for dessert 20 minutes, however I had pancakes with a tub of maple syrup and ice cream which was greatly.

Standard Wether spoons. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff in a great location on Union Street. Good beers and cheap food . A good starting point for a bit of food and a night out . Kept warm in here during my rain sodden Aberdeen city break last week lol.

Visit here while on a city break, and was close to our hotel. Food was amazing. Friendly atmosphere and staff friendly. We ordered through the app and was a fast speedy process.

Too much hassle for the chef to make us breakfast 4 minutes after 11:30 on boxing day, the place was packed with about 8 people total. He said he would have done it but because it wasn't a normal scottish breakfast and 3 breakfasts in total it was far too much hassel as he needed to prep the eggs and sausages for brunch. Talk about customer service... thanks.

Usually have a great meal here but had the haggis pizza this time and it was a big letdown. Soggy base and a bit cold. Felt undercooked. Might have been a one off mistake as I haven't experienced this in the past. Always been really satisfied with their burgers. The girlfriend loves the veggie wraps. Wouldnt recommend their pizzas but the rest is great.
