This whole market is managed my Tibetans. Every shop is owned by them. These shops are small and cute. Most of the items that you get here are woolen clothes, caps and socks. One good winter shopping could be done here.

It's nice market. It has lots of small stores selling good quality woolen garments. Prices are genuine and the shopkeepers don't bargain at all. You will find lot of varieties of woolen garments and jackets as well. There is also ample 2 and 4 wheeler parking right in the market. When coming to the market, you may come across a few people who run their own paid parking lots. They will tell you that cars are not allowed in the Tibet market. Don't listen to them if you wish to avoid unnecessary walk.

Its very near to the botanical garden.. Nothing very special about this place. Just an ordinary market most of them selling locally made Tibetan crafts and cloths. Also local vegetables and flowers are selled here. U can have a small purchase from here if you are visiting the botanical garden..

Tibetan Market place you find all types of jackets, sweaters & pullover (don't look for brand) with my experience here you find good collection for ladies rather gents.. You find same kind shops more than 25 around in one place and they have same products with fixed MRP... How much ever you try to negotiate it will not work in reducing price because there prices are fixed by community... Happy shopping

Its a small market mainly dominated by Tibetans staying here in Ooty. They have a good collection of sweaters, jackets etc for everyone. Its definitely not as good as some big brands but its not bad either. Shopkeepers are generally very friendly and try their best to get you what you are looking for.

It is runned by Tibetans whose are settled here for very long time. They are selling sweaters, jackets, mufflers ,hand caps etc., There prices are fixed but if you can bargain you try your luck. They are having ample car space and it is located to the gate of the botanical garden . For shoppers you can try this place.

The Rates here are 10-20% higher than Ooty market. We bought 4 sweaters assuming Tibetans won't cheat. While exploring the otty market we found the same product 20% cheaper. Please don't cheat , you actions has made me loose trust on Tibetans.

Good place to buy warm winter cloths. All the products are on sale with fixed price. Bought a blanket of very good quality at reasonable rate. A must drop in when you are visiting botanical garden...

Good quality winter wear. Great pricing as well. Fixed prices but could get crowded as botanical garden nearby

It’s been run by Tibetan community. The price is fixed and they have a wide range of collection which are trendy. The quality is also good. But you will get cheaper price at market (commercial street). But the collections are trendy here when to market.

There are many shops, but prices are not negotiable as they are proud of the quality of what they are selling. It's a nice place to find many varieties of sweaters and winter wear.

I have been to multiple tibetan market in multiple cities but haven’t come across this kind of market. The quality of woollen might be good but I observed a weird sense of arrogance in most of the shop keepers which was quite the contrast from my previous experiences of shopping in tibetan markets. The parking was Rs. 80 which was way too much in comparison to any other place in entire ooty. Very average market, in fact would suggest you to go and checkout the complex right in front.

A small market outside the Ooty botanical garden meant only for clothes that too winter wears. One or two shops will have some toys, keychain and wall hangings of Tibetan culture. Almost all the shopkeepers are Tibetans and there is absolutely no price bargaining for the products, fixed price only (take it if you want). Don't know whether the products are hand made but they are of decent quality. Sweaters, scarfs, shawl, skull cap and all the woolen items you can buy from here. Even though there are many shops present all the shops are having same type of collections and can't see many varieties. Felt little bit overpriced but I expect the quality to be nice and long-lasting.

There is nothing inside the Tibetan Market except for Clothes that too many Shops were closed when we went don't know if they are open other time. But you can definitely find Stalls outside Tibetan Market which are worth trying.

It's a hyped place, nothing much. 75℅ shops are yet to be opened and shutters down. Only thing different is that you can see some tibeban people sitting on shops with not much enthu.

Bit pricy.. But u get good stuff there. Especially ponchos and Jackets. Better u first check the price in two or three shops and then buy.

Went here to buy tibetan bowls, artifacts, etc but outlets only selling clothes which was also very traditional. Seems affordable too. Tibetan woven Shawls were so elegant and warm for the climate !

    1. Place is good for shopping. 2. Instead of Tibetian market it should be named woollen market. 3. No bargain in this market. 4. Materials of the items are really good. 5. You won't find anything regarding Tibetan items. 6. Food is not available here but outside this there are plenty of shopkeepers.

  • 4/5 Ajith 1 year ago on Google
There are many shops inside this market where Tibetans sell the items. You can get dress, accessories, blankets, other cloth items. They don't entertain much bargaining. Parking inside this is chargeable and is 80 rupees i think. People here in the shops know multiple languages.

Fixed Price and not every shopkeeper will be polite. Parking is not free but people will guide you well. All sweaters can be easily Available with the same Price in big cities . Gave 3 stars because of people in parking area and their collection.

👍👍 This gorgeous Church built over 124 years ago (June 1897) by the French Father Foubert , sits atop a hill in Ootacamund or Ooty. All right. What is so special about this Roman Catholic Church - you might ask. The answer is it is both simple and magnificent. From the outside it looks mystic - typical...
