I just stayed at this hotel this past week for two days and was very disappointed. This may have been a four star hotel in the distant past, but it is no longer. It appears that very little maintenance is being done. When we arrived, the thermostat in our room did not work. The air conditioning was either all on or all off. I pointed this out immediately (it was night time) and they sent a maintenance person to look at it. He said it had to be replaced and would be replaced the next day. We slept with the a/c all on and the room was very cold, but it was impossibly hot with the a/c off. The next day we went on a day tour of the city and did not arrive back at the hotel until almost 10:00 PM. The thermostat had not been replaced. I asked again to have it changed, but was told it could not happen until the next day. The next day we left the hotel at 9:00 AM and returned at 2:00 PM. The thermostat had not been replaced. As we were leaving that night on a plane at 11:30 PM, I asked if we could have late checkout and was told the only way to have late checkout was to pay for another days charge. So, we had to sit in the hotel lobby from 2:00 PM until we left for the airport at 8:00 PM. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel.

Really disappointed with this hotel! Holiday inn generally has high standards and to experience something like this is horrible. On the first night of our stay there was no parking available. The bathroom tub was full of grime and so slimy!!! This morning there were drilling sounds in the building which woke us up earlier than usual and now there was a horrible sound coming from the room next door. Truely dissatisfied with this! False advertising, not a four star hotel...and the most they can say is SORRY!

The hotel is beautiful, nice rooms clean. the staff is very friendly and helpful and quick to reply. Reception staff is excellent and specially the breakfast buffet was awesome along with the service rendered to us by Ms.Amina. she has been a wealthy asset for this hotel. keep it up Ms.Amina and all staff.

I stayed there for 1 week. 1- Expensive 2- Walls are so thin even when you talk normally. Neighbours can listen you. 3-Washrooms necessary items like towel, slippers weren't available. 4- Hotel main Lobby is too small it has total 6 pairs sofa chairs having capacity of 2 persons on each. 5- Windows are permanently closed you cannot take breath in fresh air from room. 6- The most important thing hotel management disturbs your privacy they come in the room in guest's absence to check the room goods. 7- Breakfast buffet do not have sufficient varieties. It was happened 2 different days that hot milk was finished. They didn't bother to refill it. (Management's Poor Performance) 8- I will not recommend to anyone to go there.

Great Hotel at a top location, has seen better times though. Perhaps renovation is the solution. The staff is friendly. I always liked the breakfast.

Excellent service and staff. The manager Ahmad gave us a special deal and was very co-operative and understanding towards our needs. This hotel is called The Excelsior Downtown now. The kitchen staff at the breakfast buffet were very kind and polite. Service was impeccable. In particular Vijay made sure we were served with extra hot fresh paratas everytime . He also made us feel very comfortable when we requested for anything , he would also make sure that the fruit was refilled always. We were very impressed as he was very professional. The rooftop swimming pool was clean and the showers were all in good condition. The room service was also very efficient. Overall we had a wonderful stay, location is excellent, would recommend to anyone.

Good but not best

I would say I had a good stay here. Staffs are helpful. The double room is big and comfortable, tho old. On the first night, we can slightly hear the noise of the club at midnight but that doesn’t bother us very much. The aircon however is not cold enough, I don’t even need to use the thick comforter. Tried to adjust the temperature but it seems like the temperature is controlled centrally. Very near train station so it’s very convenient. Breakfast is good. There are a lot of eateries outside the hotel.

I Had Bokked A Room On Booking.com . The Price Was Really Good For 2 Bedrooms On That Day Because It Was The Weekends . The Suhoor Is A Large Quantity Product. Tye Srvice Was Good.

Receptionists are helpful but the housekeeping or room service not up to the expectations. Suggestions and complain also didn't work. Most of the gym equipment were out of order. I stayed for 15 days on 5th floor room.

Neat and clean room. Feel like in your home.

The best is his location. Near Riqqa Metro Station and beside lots of shops selling variety of stuffs.

This hotel is superb and staff is very cooperative specially Ms. Mehemish and Mr. Najil. Room was excellent.
