I love cachapas so stopping here was a no brainier when visiting Sawmill Market. My husband and I shared a Pernil Cachapa with cheese/green chile and plantains. I got talked into adding the green chiles and I don't think they added anything. I did enjoy the dish as a whole though. I was a bit surprised how much it cost though. I'd avoid any upgrades if you're worried about the price.

Ordered a black bean arepa with rice and potato salad sides. Wasn’t thrilled that it seemed to be just a can of black beans inside, with plain white rice and flavorless potatoes. Was hoping there was more (any!) flavor as advertised.

The food is AMAZING here! Me and my family always get some empanadas and arepas. The people who work here are also very nice and helpful. Me and my family are gluten free and dairy free and are able to eat the empanadas and arepas!

Latin Flavor could be named Latin Comfort. No one in Sawmill Market does it better,l. Don't waste your TIME in any other LINE. Let Rosa hook you up. To help keep the line moving, let me order for you- PORK CACHAPA!!! (with all the extras). Imagine the best corn bread you've ever had, stuffed with barbacoa goodness. If I could write a sweet sweet love song 🎶, I would write it to this CACHAPA. Summary: Pull your head outta your burrito 🌯 and order mais cachapas.

Food is GOOD! Solid 9 outa 10 all around! Customer service is excellent. Beans were done perfectly. Steak Arepa was flavorful and memorable (recommend to get with pickles)!! Green Chili is a medium kick, so not going to burn you up!!!

It was so wonderful to find this Venezuelan restaurant in Albuquerque. The food is amazing. I loved their cachapas and tequeños! I will definitely be returning!

Nice food. Sadly yesterday though, when I asked for two boxes to take home some left overs, a "blonde" woman who works there replied: "That is why I asked you at the beginning whether you wanted the food for here or to go" She was also wearing earphones all the time, which is not polite, but her answer was the worst part. For a moment I felt like I was in Miami or Hialeah. New Mexicans are not used to such bad manners. Still, because the food is nice, it is worth it to buy from them and I hope other employees are nicer

First, let me say that we were very happy to have found gluten free options. The arepa and empanada we had tasted good, but the servings for the price are very small. We felt that the sides were extremely small and had hardly any flavor. The "potatoes" are actually potato salad and the "cabbage" is cole slaw,so they definitely should be labeled as such. We have eaten at other Venezuelan restaurants quite a bit, and always had excellent flavor. The potato salad had no taste at all, so we took one bite and left both servings. We were very disappointed, however if we do come back, we won't get the sides at all. We really wanted this to be great and sadly it just wasn't.

We've only been to Sawmill twice & keep thinking we'll try something new, but keep coming back to Cacho's. The beef & pork arepas are absolutely delicious, a generous serving size, and gluten free. The price feels a little high, but one order amounts to two meals for us, so that helps a bit. Looking forward to our next visit!

Overly expensive Venezuelan food, it is like going to Chipotle to eat Mexican food, it definitely doesn't have the real flavor from Venezuela

The most delicious empanadas! Their empanadas are always fresh, juicy, and flavourful. I constantly crave them and I've never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and the service is good.

Delicious! I had the empanadas and my husband had the Cachapas. They were both yummy! Great atmosphere with nice weather!

I tried a couple of things, an arepa and empanada...staples of Latin America....it was well presented and tasted fantastic! Now I have to go back and try other things! Really tasty! The service was really friendly too!

I was disappointed with the vegetarian arepa. It was just beans and maybe a tiny piece or two of green pepper. And it was more expensive than the pork sandwich! The side cabbage salad was very good and the pork sandwich was tasty. I love arepas but will not order them here.

Loved talking to Cacho and his wife from Caracas! My dad was a petroleum engineer for Texaco and we lived in Caracas, Maracaibo and the Interior when I was a kid, the ladies who took care of me spoke to me in Spanish---what a gift!!! So Cacho's arepas and emapnadas are the best!!! The Sawmill District is wonderful as well as Cacho's!! Gracias, amigos!!!

The Arepas were OK.Perhaps a little pricey but overall the whole place (Saw Mills) is pricey. The food was well presented.

I had an areepa (which is dramatically bigger than the ones I would get in Colombia) and some beans and cabbage. Everything tasted really good. I would eat here again.

My friend wanted to show me Sawmill Market with all of the different food options. We went in with an open mind and immediately gravitated towards Cacho’s when we saw the big “Arepas” sign. We were so happy to have made this choice. Everything was fresh and delicious and full of flavor. I ordered the sirloin and grilled veggies arepas which came with rice and beans. It was so good and satisfying. And the folks who owned the place were delightful to speak with. Definitely try the food here!

So happy with all the gluten free options! Everything was very yummy and the staff was so patient answering all my questions. Was nice to get a little taste of Venezuela here in New Mexico. Had the cachapa with beef and cheese and a chicken empanada. Definitely recommend :)

Great place at Sawmill. So many options here, but we decided on this one. Not disappointed. My empanadas were wonderful. Chicken & chicken, cheddar & green chilies. Red sauce 🔥. Green 😁. Wife got zucchini arepa and it was stuffed with goodness. Filling & friendly.

I had the Arepa twice in February and plantains, they were delicious and I raved about this place to Many people. I just dropped by today and of course ordered an arepa, with plantains; this time they changed the type of shell (yellow instead of white) and the stuffing doesn’t taste fresh. I was very disappointed and they were nice enough to switch it out for me but the new shell is really just ruining the food experience for me. The plantains were delicious and the beans as well, but the rice wasn’t my thing either. Bring back the fresh food please!!!

Amazing! I loved this little restaurant sooo much! My wife and I ordered a sirloin cachapa with gouda cheese and 2 empanadas—1 chicken/cheddar/green chile & 1–beef/cheddar/green chile. I thought everything tasted so good. The chachapa was definitely my favorite. The flavor of the sweet corn was on point. I wouldn’t have minded if the sirloin was cut into smaller bite sized pieces for the cachapa, but either way it was really yummy. The empinadas were cooked to perfection. The crispy outside pastry was so good, the hot sauces for it were yummy, but the red sauce was very spicy! I could eat these things every day! The empanadas were very hot temperature wise, so we had to wait a little bit to have them cool down to really get the flavors! Overall, one of my favorite places in ABQ!

The sandwiches barely had any protein in them. I ordered one for me and one for my partner. Literally stuffed with green chili. I added cheese for both sandwiches which came out a total of $8 extra. I also ordered potatoes and was given a tiny potato salad portion. I'm definitely never coming back. $60 worth of that? I could've made a whole banquet for 5 people.

The food was delicious! We were on a 10 day western trip, and this was one of my favorite places we ate! The gluten free options were amazing. I wish this was closer to our home state!
