Someone suggested this restaurant as a really good “dive” sushi place. The location is dated but far from a dive. Very clean, with friendly service. Great sushi, gotta try the Smoky roll! I was very impressed with watching a new employee being trained behind the counter. Trainers were very patient and complimentary to the young guy. ( sorry I’m a trainer so I appreciate seeing good trainers at work, Lol.)

This place was excellent! I had the Beef Udon noodles while my guests had the New York Steak bento box. We all shared the Shrimp Tempura Roll and Spam Musubi. The food was delicious and portioned well. We also had the Cheesecake roll for desert. There were no leftovers. Hahaha. Service was wonderful. We enjoyed this establishment whole heartedly and we will return again.

This place is fresh and delicious... And they have little boats that deliver your smaller sushi rolls to you. The fish and rice are on point and they are not super heavy on the sauces. The service is excellent. We felt welcomed the entire meal by everyone and our drinks never dried. My only complaint is they are closed Sundays... Which is my main sushi eating day. I will try to go back on Saturdays when I can!

I LOVE this place we have been in ABQ a little over a year and had a horrible time finding a good sushi place. We finally tried this one and fell in love we will never try another at this point. The staff is great and attentive. The sushi chefs like to have fun while giving you a great presentation. The little boats are fun and people often put cute notes on the. Our favorite roll is the Sunrise , it is awesome. The prices are fair too for the quality and quantity. Great gyoza too.

We really appreciate the great service and delicious food! The restaurant was packed but the service was attentive and prompt. The atmosphere was pleasant and casual. Ate 6 different rolls, loved each one!

I've been going here for 15 years off and on and love it. Would like to see new boats though. Tasty and novel food, friendly staff, good cold beer

Consistently yummy sushi! I enjoy sitting at the sushi bar and picking my order up off the boats! Was here when they were busy and they surprised us with a complimentary dessert! We will keep coming back!

Although the steak in the Bento box was a little dry, the Sushi rolls were delicious, as well as the Teriyaki chicken, and an unexpected delight of the deep fried Oreos! The solicitous waitstaff was very patient with our small party. But the best part?- when the sweet woman reminded me to let my family treat me to a special occasion, visiting them & my 10 mo grandson. Thank you for making our evening.so wonderful.

Okay, so generally I would never order sushi in a landlocked, desert location. But I was feeling risqué here in Albuquerque. And so, I'm pleasantly happy to report that 4 hours later not only an I not dead, but the food was amazing. 1️⃣ Order the boat / platter thing. It cost $90 bucks and is definitely a 3 person entree. 2️⃣ The grilled eel on the platter is fabulous! The rest also melt in your mouth. 3️⃣ Not sure what is in the Money Balls but it's fried deliciousness. So all in all, immediately impressed by the freshness and selection of the sushi. Wasn't what I was expecting here in the inland desert of New Mexico.

First thing you do when you walk in the door is order some green muscles (4/$7 IIRC). They take about 20 min to cook, so call it dessert. Excellent food, service and ambiance.

Even the basic sushi rolls here are head and shoulders above your average sushi place. They have a circle of cute floating boats that go around the sushi bar and bring you your rolls. And of course they've got some creative offerings such as the flaming crunch sushi rolls, which use flaming hot Cheetos as the topping ingredient (which works pretty well!). Their prices are also pretty reasonable for sushi. Will definitely return! Oh and they gave us complimentary miso soup and deep fried Oreos.

My second time coming to this place was such a bad experience I got together with some friends of mine so it was a bunch of us and a couple of us couldn’t have certain ingredients that were in some of the sushi rolls. We asked a simple question to the waitress about if we can split our tabs and explain to her why and she got mad and became extremely rude the whole night. Then she had the other waitress step in and acted the same way we got treated badly we also were being talked about and getting bad looks every time they would pass through I was even hesitant about tipping because how we we’re getting treated. Sushi was Mid too it wasn’t the best in my opinion and not just saying that because of the experience!

Another gem in Nob Hill. Been coming here for years. The service and food remain the same, excellent. I'm glad they survived the ART project and covid closings. Will be back!

I go here a lot because the sushi is good and the servers are always kind and relatable. It gets busy but never a line. Rice is never dry and meat tastes fresh. I've been the last guest to leave twice and each time they gave me with friend Oreos 😊

The roll I ordered was prepared with different ingredients than what was specified on the menu and online which was a very unpleasant surprise. I would have easily scored Shogun a 4 or possibly even 5 stars however not being accurate to the menu honestly made it a 1 star dining experience so I'm trying to be fair with 3 stars. I think most people, like myself, are reluctant to ask a sushi chef to make exceptions or substitutions on sushi rolls so we look for whatever roll has exactly what we want; therefore when you bite into a roll and taste an ingredient that shouldn't be there its quite frustrating and, in my case, just honestly kind of gross because an ingredient i strongly dislike was added to the roll even though the menu says otherwise. And if you get an ingredient you don't want in your sushi roll the whole meal is basically ruined because you can't pick it out without destroying the whole roll itself because of how sushi is made. Aside from that everything is great. Visually it looked better than other sushi places I've been to in abq. The rice to protein and rice to tempura ratio all looked great I just couldn't enjoy it because after biting into it I realized it contained an unexpected ingredient that I dislike. The restaurant itself was very clean and the staff was pleasant. I'm sure they would have refunded my order or re made it but I didn't want to make an issue out of something that probably isn't a very big deal to most people. In summary, Shogun's discrepancy between what the menu says and what the chef serves turn what would have otherwise been an excellent dining experience into a poor one.

This had good sushi. It looks so good and tastes wonderful. They have a good selection. We loved it. If you go during the lunch hour they don't put sushi on the boats. If you want that experience is not lunch. The service was great

It is a very fun place to go for sushi. Watching the boats go around the sushi moat was entertaining, and the sushi was very good. My only complaint would be that the atmosphere could have been a little more comfortable.

Filthy and disgusting. Went there for the first time and was so grossed out. The oil used to fry the food was black and old. Sent back the fried chicken bites (my kids appetizer) 2 times because it was old and hard. The sushi was awful and not fresh at all. Never coming back. And would NEVER recommend.

Extremely delicious. Great quality sushi. Would definitely come back. This is more of a sushi restaurant then a sushi-Go around though. There is no colored plates with different sushi on it and you just grab.
