    This is the worst car rental place I have ever experienced. We had rented an electric car online 2 days prior to our pick up. We arrived the morning of and it took 2 hours before we were able to drive away in something not electric and more expensive. They didn't even have the car we had rented online or it wasnt even charged, so they decided to give us an "upgrade" in electric that was charged, but then as we did the tour of the damage on the car, one of the front tire was chipped really bad, and it was already written in the damage document and they didn't even took care of it before making it available again for a client. they offered us this really unsafe car saying, "Oh, if something happen, we can tow you... but we only were renting the car for the day and going 2 hours away from the city, this wasn't a safe solution. Then they called another place to bring another electric car in (which took about 15 to 20 minutes), and at arrival, it wasn't even charged enough for us to take. Then they proposed to us a 4th car, gas this time and telling us we have to pay about 60 euros of gas on top of the rental. They didn't even offer us to match the price we were paying originally which is the minimum they could do at that point, we had to explain to them what a waist of time this was, we had to cancel our end of the day plans because on top of the rental, if you bring the car back after 5pm, they are closed and so you have to pay parking for the night for them to find the car the next morning. And because we lost 2 hours, we couldn't visit 2 other places we really wanted to. Then, it was impossible to reach a supervisor. Apparently, she was under training, which means there was no real supervisor formed at the time. All the lady at the counter was telling us was that she could ask her manager to give us the 60$ reduction and that she had to approve, which nothing was cleared out before we left. It's been 3 days now, and I haven't received anything from them, plus I am seeing an extra charge on my card that I don't even know what it is for. DON'T GO THERE, THEIR SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. WAIST OF TIME

    Always great service and very kind staff. I rent 30-50 days per year, no reason to go anywhere else. Still veruy happy with Sixt. My latest experience was early February 2024. Both Staff (Spartak and Ilias) were great: kind, polite, very efficient. After I saw the car (speedy Audi A4) they offered me, I changed my mind and they both were kind enough and helpful to get me an even nicer one Audi Q3 with more space inside and same engine. Much more suitable for our trip. Excellent service! Thanks Spartak and Ilias.

    As a customer of almost a decade with Sixt, this will be the end of our relationship. My last rental collection showed me how hostile these people are to their customers. I booked (and paid for in advance) with my BUNQ MasterCard via the sixt.nl app. A day before pick up, I receive an email saying they do not accept pre-paid credit cards. Thats after they happily charged my credit card for the full amount. At the day of pick up, I arrive on time as they said I have to in their email, or risk losing my reservation. The clerk tells me they don’t have the 3-series I booked, but a Jeep Compass instead. Obviously two very different cars. I was not happy with this choice, and asked if there is any other option. The clerk said no, its the only one available right now, and condescendingly telling me I have a choice (to either take it or cancel and get a refund). I relent, and go in the back to pick up this gasoline hungry truck that I didn’t ask for, which was btw damaged, I notice a nice 4-series among a couple other cars much more similar to what i asked for. When asked the clerk told me I couldn’t rent this to you because of your BUNQ card. I’m not sure what their problem is with BUNQ. They are a licensed bank and where MasterCard is involved I don’t see how vendors are allowed to pick and choose.

    We returned our car & the staff on duty did not note its return/end the rental. I have been continually charged for the rental of a vehicle (now a month on), and have called & emailed countless times with no resolution. They still have not ended the rental or returned my money. Am told “not to worry, it will be sorted” & that they will send me updates/documentation of the process. I never hear anything. Actually appalled.

    Rented specific car that was unavailable, only offered a vehicle that was a 20euro upgrade despite the fact that the car i wanted was indeed not possible... If you drop off here after hours you need to find a public parking spot (not easy) to return it! And pay for the parking until midnight that night. Would recommend staying away.

    I rent from Sixt all the time but most of the time I rent at Schiphol or RAI.. it was a very pleasant experience and Ervin was super professional and friendly.. because of employees like him you really want to rent from Sixt again and again and I hope his management will recognise his personal efforts to make Sixt the only rental we use for our company! Thanks again and see you soon ! UPD: since I can only leave one review even if I real almost weekly, I would like to add my thanks to Neha -who is a great help and last but not least : Iliass -back office employee who is actually taking care of the cars I rent.. both of them are very professional and always going beyond the expectations! Thanks so much guys !!!

    Rented a SUV for a week and the car and the service was very good 🚙 We also needed winter tires and cannot found any of the car rental websites. We called Sixt and they arranged for us. We want to get the car at 9 but there was a delay so they gave us another free day.

    What a horrible rental place. My original booking was for a better car and included higher mileage. They emailed me a different contract after I picked up the car. What they also don’t disclose is that if you return the car after 5pm you need to park ( paid parking at 6 euros an hour ) and do a key drop off.

    I have been a customer of Sixt for since 1998, but recently my experience with the return and check out of vehicle has been frustrated, it was assigned to me a new damage: scratch on the front bumper in reality it was a scratch on the bottom of the front bumper skirt. Where you can find many others scratches and tear use of this part of the car not even listened on the car's damage list. Probable the next customer could be blamed for this damages as they did to me. if you want to rent a car with Sixt make sure you lay on the floor even in a rainy day and check for any damages that are not listened. take you time and go to the minimal details.

    had the worst experience in my life because i rented a full electric luxury car (Jaguar i pace) and i told the lady who gave me the keys that i am going for a 3 hours drive to Germany, so she gave me a recharging card for 10€ and she told me that it will work everywhere for free, and that didn't happen. The car didnt charge by card even once it ruined my day i had to leave the windows wide open the temp. was 2°c because the heaters drain the battery so i had to keep it off, i couldn't reach my destination. Actually i couldn't even reach the nearest sixt branch to get rid of the car. The vehicle shut down at a city i didnt knew. I was left with a dead car a dead phone in a place i didnt know where i was.

    Hi all! After using large number of different car rental services across the world, I would really like to say - this one is the worst experience ever. First of all, specialist told that if I will not buy "full protection", I will pay for any even super little scratch 1000euro, but according to rental agreement there should be scratches at least 10cm to be paid. Besides, you will pay three times more if you will not return car with full tank (also according to that same specialist). However, the most annoying point of using Sixt is that now, it is 11th day now after renting and guys even don't think to return my deposit back, because I they want you to call them, write them, beg them. If you love yourself and respect your time, I would kindly advice you not to use this service.

    Great experience. Picking up the car was super easy and everyone was very nice. I would definitely recommend and will use them again the next time I fly into Schiphol airport.

    I had to wait for an hour after the agreed time to get the car. I took a different car than requested. It was bigger but it was a different transmission system that the one I booked originally. After 2 weeks I still haven't received the guarantee deposit. First time I encounter a customer service system for which there is no agent to respond to you and as a result the call is terminated automatically. Finally, we had some additional charges for crossing the borders that is not listed anywhere in the website. Also we selected winter tires and they told us the car we chose does not have winter tires. My question to them was why the winter tires option was available for this car online in the first place. Sixt has to fix the website and the customer service asap.

    Rented a small car for several days - all went well and the process was very smooth. You can’t pay with maestro card in the app while making a reservation, so I used a virtual master card. But you need a physical card for the deposit (doesn’t have to be a credit card for non expensive types of cars) when picking up the car - that issue was solved easily on the spot - paid the deposit and the reservation with maestro card and the amount paid with the virtual card was refunded on the next day. When returning the car after opening hours you have to pay for the parking until midnight but you get informed about that several times. The car was quite fresh (less than 20k km) and economical (800km on one tank). You’re choosing a class of cars but cannot see what specific models they actually have in this class and what are you getting (would be nice to see both, but not a biggie). I was offered some additional protection/insurance but wasn’t pressured into buying that. The deposit was returned within a week or so. No issues

    We always rent our business cars via Sixt. In my opinion, the team is really really helpful! There is a lady called, Sanne. She always makes my day with her beautiful smile and helpful character. Behind the scenes you have Ilias. This guy is always laughing. I mean, have a bad day, this is the place to be happy again.

    Overall it was a positive experience. At the car handover it was not explained that the car is to be parked on the street (at the customer expense...in Amsterdam centre...) when returned outside the opening hours. I think this should have been better clarified.

    We just went there today to return a vehicle. It could not have been better. The employee there was very respectful, and got us through in 10 minutes. I would recommend this place. Also Sixt overall, they are very easy to deal with and their process is very smooth. I will dealing with Sixt only from now on.

    Reserving the moving van online was easy and the pick-up was even easier. The guy was working alone so maybe that’s the reason we didn’t get a full explanation e.g. about the scratches and returning the van with a full tank. Do keep in mind that the gas station nearest to the place was inaccessible by car (around end of June 2022) due to construction. Also keep in mind that you have to park on the street when you bring back the car, which you have to pay for until midnight. For us the parking cost just as much as renting the van.

    I recently rented a car from Sixt and had a really nice experience. The car itself was in great condition and I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complementary upgrade when I picked it up. The process of renting the car was easy and straightforward, although it was a little slow at times. However, it was not frustrating and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. One thing I really appreciated about Sixt was the easy access and parking. The rental location was easy to find and there was plenty of parking available. The staff were also knowledgeable and were able to answer any questions I had about the car or the rental process. Overall, I had a great experience with Sixt and would highly recommend them for anyone in need of a rental car. The car was nice, the process was easy, and the customer service was friendly and knowledgeable.

    At pickup I was helped by Victoria, who is a friendly lady. She explained everything well and even suggested a better car than I initially rented. She was helpful in everything and gave clear instructions for check-in and check-out. At check-out I was helped by a young man called Reza, who was also friendly and professional. He checked the car for damages and parked the car in himself, which saved me the hassle. I even forgot my phone in the car and Reza came back running behind me to return it to me! I had no random expenses. Top service & cars! Thanks Victoria and Reza!

    Professional and welcoming employees at the Sixt Autoverhuur Amsterdam West. The process was very smooth and fast, they also upgraded my rent to a larger car without asking or charging extra money. I've been served by Mr. Karam a welcoming enthusiastic employee whom I envy the company that they have such an employee.

    I had fantastic experience. Pick up was fussy free, the service is friendly and considerate. Go above and beyond to find options for me. The car return is also superb. The check out stuff was so friendly and make me feel very at ease. Easy to find and highly recommend.

    Edwin was wonderful. We rented a car very last minute as our travel plans changed. It was a very stressful situation for me. When I arrived at the car rental facility, I was not expecting much as the businesses in the service industry sector in Amsterdam seem under staffed and a little stressed out (pandemic continues to haunt us) - as is the same in the states. Anyway, Edwin was friendly and took care of us quickly. Thank you Edwin.

    Support team doesn't help to understand rules of rides. As a result I payed double price for it. Horrible client service. Be cautious about booking a ride for a fixed amount of time, they write additionally number of ml/km included in 1 hour. So even if a ride takes 2 hours, but the mileage exceeds what they mention in rules, you'll pay ~1.70 EUR per each additional ml/km.

    The worst experience of my life renting a car, which is something I do quite often. I was the first customer in the morning, took them more than an hour to provide me with the car, which had scratches (with photo evidence). When I returned the car, they charged me 700 euros for scratches. I will never use SIXT again.

    The worst service. They're trying to find some problem to cancel the booking or upgrade the car, because if you have the booking before it's cheaper and they're trying to make you pay extra. Not recommended!
