Avoid avoid avoid! Myself and my husband carefully selected this 5* based on reviews and photos. The hotel itself was nice, however, fairly basic considering it’s a 5 star and the high price we paid compared to the much lower price we could have paid for most other hotels in the area (eg, no conditioner or shower gel or free drinking water!) but large comfortable bed and room well tidied / bed made every day. Our issue was with a scam being operated by a member of staff. Whilst in the jacuzzi the waitress took our drinks order; we requested Havana rum and coke. She told us that they did not have Havana and that there was a similar local rum. She did not show us menus/prices, but you would assume it is of an average cost…..the bill was 660q / $85!!! She chose the most expensive rum in the hotel (without telling us!), and in doing so also increased the mandatory 10% tip. We complained and were offered a breakfast box as an apology…and were provided with out of date yoghurt! Thankfully we noticed and avoided food poisoning. I cannot explain how bad this hotel was in managing the incident. Avoid this hotel - there are much better and more professional hotels in Antigua.

Didn’t stay here BUT when I needed a Covid test last minute on a Saturday, the Blue Medic inside the hotel premises was open and available. I got my results sent through email within the hour.

Loved my stay here. Jacuzzi and gym were great! The staff is so helpful and the grounds are lovely to walk through and experience. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend! Convenient to have parking and close to all the fun things to do in the area. Loved everything about my room too

Best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff is the most attentive. The entrance guard made my tie for the wedding I attended. The food on the restaurant is very good. My girlfriend and I ordered several room services amd everything came perfect. If you are thinking of going to Guatemala book here. You will not regret it. the rooms are very nice and the garden is superb.

Excellent hotel providing luxury ambience that somehow fits in well with the 1700's vibe of Antigua. No pool, but the Jacuzzi does the trick. Hotel staff provides oustanding service.

The pictures do not capture how beautiful this hotel is. I almost didn’t book this hotel because their website pictures didn’t show the size of the bathroom. To my pleasant surprise, the bathroom is quite decent in size with a walk-in shower! The facility and rooms maintain its historical charm with added high quality from every angle. On top of it all, service is 10/10. We will be back.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The location is great and walking distance to the town square. There are a fair number of good restaurants nearby. The property is quaint and is decorated tastefully. They definitely have the property a pleasant vibe. Rooms were nice with a safe and roomy.

Our stay from beginning to end was magnificent. The staff was friendly and helpful. They kept in contact with me when they found out my son was sick checking in on us. The rooms were clean, comfortable and just beautiful. The hotel in its entirety is beyond beautiful.

This hotel is beautiful. The landscape and flowers are well maintained. There is a rooftop bar and nice hottub. Great location, and it's all secure, so I felt safe. I gave it 4 stars because the restaurant was so slow and unorganized. We had to ask 3 and 4 times for sugar or cream or more coffee. Everyone was friendly, just a tad unorganized. I'm not sure if we weren't being heard or if they were all scattered brained. I'd go back regardless. It's beautiful.

Hotel is fantastic. Staff and room are wonderful. If your a light sleeper ask for a room where there isn't high traffic of people walking by. We didn't eat at restaurant but they were friendly and helpful. When we checked out we left iPhone headphones in room. When we back to get them Leslie at the desk was so helpful in retrieving them. Beautiful grounds well maintained. Would stay here again.

Outstanding hotel, the decor and attention to detail is impressive. The food at the restaurant was slightly pricey but very good. The staff are amazing! The gym is good enough, cardio machines, but no resistance machines, that being said they have a few benches and the doubles go up to 50lb. I highly recommend this hotel.

This was one of the most beautiful hotels in which I have stayed. You truly feel transported to colonial times. The architecture is gorgeous, the gardens are beautiful, the service is superb, the staff was so polite and accommodating. They have fresh coffee and water throughout the day in one of the corridors. The location is perfect. We walked everywhere and felt so safe. It was worth every penny! They went the extra mile in assisting us in delivering my husband's passport and $300 to the capital after we had left Antigua. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hotel Camino Real was more than we (group of 8 friends) expected. We were all very impressed with their location, size, cleanliness, services, quality and a very helpful and pleasant staff. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone who wants to visit Antigua Guatemala. Their rooms are of a very nice size with comfortable beds and pillows, delightful shower. Their grounds and pool very pleasant and relaxing. Restaurant service was outstanding as was their staff. Staff is so helpful and friendly, always willing to help. Beautiful Hotel.

It is a quite well located hotel, with the magic and colonial charm of Antigua, but the comforts of a modern hotel. The level of service is high and the collaborators are very friendly. In Antigua Guatemala there are several good options to stay. This is a very good alternative. Recommended

Absolutely enchanted and luxe spot in beautiful Antigua. Upon arrival into Antigua, you’ll be mesmerized by the colors and the vibrancy of this special city. You’ll be blown away as you arrive to the Real Camino Antigua Guatemala! It’s absolutely perfect. The many, many fountains coupled with the incredible tranquil hideaways for sitting and relaxing as well as the perfect placement of candles - it’s delightful. The rooms are super. They currently feature Bulgari products and are perfect for washing away a day of exploring. The coffee is strong, the restaurant is super and the welcome drinks make you feel so connected to this historic city. This is the place to stay! I am enchanted by this property!

Very disappointed that this Hotel hit me with a surprise and unexpected "RESORT FEE" of an added $20.00 US per day at time of check out....Most unfair to add additional unlisted fees and costs at the end of one's stay....Had I known in advance at time of booking this hotel the total real costs I may have chosen another hotel instead 😢...

I do not feel this hotel management provides the value to match the price and grandeur of the facility. The restaurant food and service was terrible, and the room design is empty and outdated. I didn't feel comfortable here. It's not worth the splurge.

I am incredibly frustrated with Hertz in the hotel at this location and will never be using them again. I made a reservation directly through Hertz on July 24th (1 1/2 months ago). I arrived today with the Hertz representative telling me there are no cars available. I was not able to find another rental car last minute, and it has completely ruined my vacation for the week I had planned to travel around. The representative also did not provide good customer service and did not suggest any alternatives or let me know when they would have another car available.

Nice California king bed. Bathroom a little tight. Jacuzzi is hot and nice, just make sure to hit it early so you can get a nice spot. Coffee and water table in the middle of the walkway is legit (probably the highlight for me). I would just make a nice coffee, then sit in one of the random set up chairs and enjoy the artifacts. The other highlight for me was the breakfast buffet. Do not sleep on this, make sure you try it at least once. Fantastic.

My husband & I stayed at Camino Real Antigua Guatemala from 5/07/22 - 5/14/22 in a Virey Suite. It was by far the best customer service we have received in a while. By the next morning after our check in, the staff was calling us by name. The room was beautiful & very clean. I loved the details left in our room - flowers & chocolate covered strawberries to make our stay more special. Thank you Camino Real we will definitely be staying with you again on our next visit to Antigua.

Beautiful hotel & easy walk to local shops, food joints, and more. The breakfast buffet & room service is AWESOME! Only complaint was that going through the breakfast buffet was hard to hear the food servers & most didn’t speak English (but wasn’t a problem).

Poor customer service. They do not respond to emails and have no phone number expect international number. I was there in January at the end of a medical mission trip and somehow booked the wrong night of my stay. They absolutely refused to work with me on the price and charged me an entire night stay. The place was not full so plenty of rooms. I literally was only there for less than 12 hours as I had an early flight but they still charged me 2 nights. I have tried to contact someone at hotel and they disregard my emails and never respond. I will not stay there again and will only tell others of my negative experience.

Lovely spot, second only to the Casa Santa Domingo. The rooms are more luxurious but the Casa has more history. Still place provides very gracias accommodations in Antigua. Don't hesitate to book it.

This place is beautiful and really well located. The room was large and comfortable. The only things I can suggest to improve would be 1) heating the hot tub to be very hot (was warm) and 2) bring back the breakfast buffet rather that just 2 plated options.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this beautiful place for 1 night after we did the volcano hike. It was the best decision we’ve made in terms of accommodation during our travels in Guatemala! The property and the rooms are amazing! Really spacious rooms and bathrooms and super comfortable beds! The gym is well equipped and the saunas (1 male 1 female) hot and clean. In general the hotel is really clean and the attention to detail is great. Everyone from the personnel we encountered was very friendly and welcoming. You have to book the breakfast buffet as it offers plenty of local and healthy food and I had the best espresso of Guatemala 🤩 All in all we loved every second of our stay and will come back for sure! Muchas gracias Camino Real Team 🙏
