I needed a bed for the night and these guys were the only ones that answered the phone and also, importantly, they didn't require a Vax pass. Lovely man who was the concierge, great room at a reasonable price. Really appreciate you guys! God bless your

No complaints! Staff were super lovely, room nice and spacious and well appointed. Clean and tidy. Breakfast was also really nice and this was the perfect location for a city getaway with our three teenage boys. We will be back

I last stayed here 2 years ago. This time my partner and I stayed. We chose it because of the location and the good price. We used the AT public transport this time and there is a bus stop across the road, which was handy. Room was clean and bed comfortable but the pillows on the bed were way too fat for a good sleep without waking with a sore neck. Room service said unfortunately they only have the one size. My wife used her rolled up clothes as a pillow in the end as we stayed for 3 nights. I would likely stay here again though, but if I can I may bring a pillow, or hope their pillows have squashed down a bit with time.

It's doesn't not look much from the outside but don't worry it's a great place to stay! Behind the old facade there's a quaint hall with a Bar and Restaurant, it's the original Trades Hall from 1914 that's an experience in itself. All the rooms are large and modern and have a kitchen area should you wish to eat in. Buffet breakfast is a good call at 30 NZD, as much as you eat everything imaginable you could eat for breakfast.

BEST GIRLS WEEKEND GETAWAY!! Perfect location, scooters outside took us down the the wharf to the bars and restaurants. A good quality karaoke rooms for hire just a minute walk from the hotel. Love the buffet Breakfast and but the best things was the service form the staff. They were so understanding with our luggage and were very kind and welcoming! 5 Stars!!

Enjoyed the hotel. Tidy and convenient at a good price. I did not appreciate reception calling me at 4pm to tell me to keep our son quiet as his playing on the floor was disturbing the next room. If this was an issue I would suggest investment in better soundproofing! Apart from this I would stay again.

Newer hotel in the top end of Auckland CBD. Close to Sky City, Event Cinemas and Sky Bus pickup stop to Auckland airport. Check in and out was super easy and quick. The staff were quite pleasant and helpful. The large studio with kitchenette is quite spacious with separate dining area. The room is modern and functional. The bathroom and shower was great. Water pressure was therapeutic. The only comment I would make is this room didn't seem to warm up enough. While there is a large wall heater in the bedroom, I struggled to keep warm when a cold southerly blew in. All-in-all, still a good stay and value for money.

Room was clean and tidy, however it was freezing and only had a small 4 bar fin oil heater. No face clothes provided, so might want to bring your own. Water pressure was good, but they obviously have turned the temperature down so shower was Warm not hot. Room was cleaned but didn’t empty rubbish or refresh linen. Price was great but would rather pay a bit extra for a hot shower and warm room

Great hotel room with nice and polite staff. The bathrooms were good as well. The only downside was that the AC is extremely loud. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a proper and reasonable place to stay in Auckland.

Beautifully decorated historic building. Clean tidy and comfortable rooms that are at an adorable price per night. Staff are friendly and helpful. Security is very good throughout. Parking is where u can find it but never had a problem getting one close by a few buildings away on same street.

This hotel is great. It's close to the shopping area. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean. The bedrooms were upstairs and the living and kitchenette were downstairs. You even have a washing machine that is also a dryer so you can do your laundry and don't have to worry about bringing dirty clothes back home. The hotel has a restaurant and if you are interested, you can pay $25 a day for breakfast or there is a small shop where you can get breakfast if you don't want to eat at the restaurant. Also, it has a parking garage which is a little small but workable. There is also a small gym situated in the parking area. I didn't use it since it was outside in the parking garage and it was cold in the mornings. All in all, it was a wonderful stay at the hotel.

My stay was good for the price, although car parking is expensive. The breakfast is above average. The biggest thing I believe that needs to be done is to have a welcome /information book in the room. It is crazy that an inner city hotel catering to international guests has no such book. How on earth are guests supposed to know the reception number? I had to guess. The TV evidently only works with Chromecast, but the linking system they use is proprietary. No information anywhere. The staff are brilliant. 10/10. The service excellent. It's a pity that the management overlook what should be essential for any accommodation business, let alone a inner city hotel. Please, get a book into every room. Apart from that, I fully recommend the hotel.

A gracious, olde world and slightly quirky place. Somehow guests immediately relaxed and chatted as we bumped into each other in the lifts or around the piano. Clean and well maintained, with a friendly and efficient staff this was the ideal start for my first time trip to New Zealand.

The hotel was good value for money. The check in process was straightforward, we arrived after midnight and the person on reception was very friendly. The room was clean, with a good amount of space in it. There was an iron and ironing board as well as a mini fridge. The shower had good power in it. The hotel's location was very handy for getting in and out of the city. The only minor issue we had was that the walls and doors were quite thin, so you could hear everyone arriving and leaving as well as the lift overnight.

Room was clean and accommodating. Didn’t use their gym, but it was a nice space. Their “green refuge” was a super cool spot to stumble upon. Breakfast buffet was really great. The location couldn’t be beat either! Very happy that I stayed here for my night in Auckland!

Stayed for 2 nights in room 613. We are an elderly couple.Room was big, sort of a suite with a microwave, hot plate and spic and span. The sky tower and Weta workshop are in walking distance. So are all type of restaurants. Breakfast spread was awesome. Thank you

Overly long check in and check outs. Room had no air con, just an old school unit that didn’t cool the room. No mattress protectors on the beds Or pillow protectors ekkk Relatively clean though which we appreciated.

We were a family of five and there was only one bathroom. Two bedrooms upstairs and a bed in the living room. If you are a big family make sure you check the number of bathrooms. Besides the cleaning service didn’t come every day.

It was clean , tidy room with all the basic stuff we needed for 3 nights stay. Staff's were very friendly and professional. We were been given unlimited internet access which made our boys super happy. It would be nice to have reusable plates and bowls when pple stay more than a night with family. Overall value for money and location was handy for everything which made it easier to walk around the city.

Auckland city hotel was a great hotel that offered just what we needed. It was clean and comfortable in the rooms and at a very central location. Walking distance to Sky Tower and the shops. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Overall a great stay in Auckland

The location was perfect, we were able to secure a carpark, which was great. The room had everything we needed. The remote didnt work so we had no tv, but when i rang reception, the person who came up to check it out was lovely and came quickly, the problem was sorted by maintenance the next day. On getting in to the single bed, i noticed it was extremely uncomfortable, so i checked if it was upside down, which it was. Once i flipped the mattress, the bed was comfortable. It was a bit odd, but rectified. Also there are no face cloths provided, but again, once requested they were brought up to our room. Again thought this was a bit odd, but was sorted quickly. I also had to pay a bond on our room, which seems unneccesary when they have my credit card details, then they physically went and checked the room before returning this so i had to wait for this when checking out. Ive never had this before so this seemed quite odd aswell, but again, not a big deal and if i knew all of this before, knowing what to expect it would be fine.

Great experience overall. Could have done with a bit more soundproofing on 2nd floor; but not enough noise to noticeably disrupt my sleep. Minifridge was set a bit too cold on arrival; froze all of my drinks overnight. Everything else was perfect; impeccable service. Recommend this place. Complimentary drink sachet collection included hot chocolate which is always very nice.

  • 1/5 Marcus W. 8 months ago on Google
Disappointing! Avoid when cold as unable to warm room up and windows let in significant Draught and wind which keeps the rooms VERY cold. No extra bedding available to help with getting warm. Carpets need a clean as decor overall is ‘tired’ at best. Breakfast was disappointing as well as hot plate wasn’t working but baked beans were still offered but as COLD baked beans! Parking was also charged on top of rate so check beforehand. Good location to Sky Tower and Power Shower was warm and powerful. Not recommended!

Nice room, nice staff, good breakfast, gym, parking. Very nice. To mention something negative - after 32 hours of traveling to get there, they didnt have our room ready, and it was about 15:30. They gave us a free drink to compensate for the trouble though. Pool (the game, not water pool) area closes to early to make use of it. 4/5

Our tour operator fell short and we accidentally arrived here. Although we weren't booked in and were moving straight on the team there assisted us locating our tour guide this side. While waiting we were kindly allowed the use of their bar, excellent staff, and allowed us use of their facilities when they had no need to. If I were to return to Auckland I would stay here on the strength of the assistance that the staff supplied when they did not need to. Thank you again for your help

We spent 4 nights in room 113 and booked via Airbnb. We had a lovely stay - the room was great, staff were very helpful, and it's location in the CBD made it easy to walk to the main attractions we were interested in. Would definitely stay here again if in Auckland.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this outstanding hotel where every aspect exceeded my expectations. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the room service provided was impeccable, promptly catering to all my needs. The exceptional staff, who even allowed me to check in early, truly made my experience memorable, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The incredibly reasonable cost was a pleasant surprise given the high quality of service and comfort offered. Situated in a great location, this hotel is a gem that I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone – a perfect blend of affordability, exceptional staff, and prime location that guarantees a fantastic stay.

We appreciated the facilities in the apartment a lot.. surely a value hotel, a little dated and not outfitted to impress but it kept it's promise and made a convenient base for two days in Auckland. Plenty of good restaurants in the area. Washing machine in room was a very welcome surprise

Thank you to Garfield who checked me in, very professional and service was great. Location is in a good spot, it’s only 5mins walk to Skycity and easy access to all restaurants nearby. Room is spotless and very well cleaned. Thank you to housekeeping team for their service. Will be visiting again😊

Awesome Stay! 10 out of 10 I was contemplating to stay in another hotel before deciding to give this hotel a go. No regrets at all. Room is clean and spacious. Everything was working as it should be. Very nice ambience and decoration with a piano for you to play your blues away :) Restaurant is huge and classy. Ms OKI, the duty manager was great. She was very accommodating with my requests. Very warm, friendly, helpful, giving tips where to eat and shop. Hotel is about 10mins walking distance to SkyTower and Queen Street. Parking is 30NZD per day if you are driving (multiple in/out allowed). Will stay again if in Auckland.

**Restaurant experience only**- Staff were lovely and the pizza & fries we had were enjoyable. However the cheesecake I ordered for $15, was not worth it at all. For the size, quality and taste, I felt terribly ripped off.

Checked in late at night to be told our room was cancelled, even though we've had 3 phone confirmations in the afternoon before we left for the airport. We were told by Kim (the hotel ambassador) who was checking us in that there was only 1 room left if we wanted it (they had given our room to someone else), but that room had an odour (which they had been trying to rid off for the last 10 hours)! They refused to upgrade us to a bigger, cleaner room despite this being their fault. They offered us 1 breakfast instead.

The beds were super comfortable, the room was clean, and the young woman at the front desk was very polite and helpful. However didn't expect the fan and the lamp lights to not work in our room. Our room also wasn't ready when we showed up. They gave us a complimentary cocktail as we had to wait about half an hour, which was a kind gesture. Usually I stay in hostels when traveling, decided to spend quite a bit more money for something decent, and wasn't too impressed

Located near the Sky Tower in CBD. Good location near shops and bud stop but must be aware of all junkies who are concentrated in the city center. Mattress in my opinion was very soft and queen bed was moving so not that comfy. Bit noisy from the street due to thin walls. Overall clean hotel with nice staff. Breakfast 30 NZD per person can be bought right in the dining room.

  • 1/5 Brian B. 5 months ago on Google
We found the room clean but that was about all. 1/.The TV was not in good order, several bright spots made viewing impossible after a few minuets. 2/. The fridge was noisy. 3/. The shower head had to held in place while showering. 4/. Had to call for shower face towels. 5/. Advertised, there was a restaurant, this was closed, with no prior warning, we needed to find at the last minuet a venue for a family meal. 6/. I am in need of mobility parking and was told there is mobility space in the carpark. Yes there is but you cant park in it as it was used for hotel carts. So use a regular space which is very tight for me. In all believe this hotel does not deserve it's 4* rating sad to say.

I was there with work and stayed 3 nights. I had difficulty booking even though I had a booking reference handy. The staff were pleasant but not overly helpful. No restaurant evening meals because they did not open. It seemed short staffed. Staff not overly helpful. The room was clean and Tidy. Location was good for work purposes.

Hotel is great for its price! However, make up room service is no good. In my 3-day stay, my room was never cleaned and had to request for new towels in the reception. Despite that, still a great stay :) . Excellent location in Auckland CBD. Would recommend for short stay then you don't have to worry about room cleaning service.

I really didn't mind this quaint hotel. It is about 1km from the viaduct and the waterfront so a bit of a hike if you're business is down there. But only a block or so from Sky City, which is convenient if you're coming in on the Airport bus. The bed was comfy, and the room well-stocked. The shower was ok. What was great were the cooking facilities, so you can self-cater if you are there for a slightly longer stay. There are better hotels in Auckland, but you'd be hard-pressed to find one at these rates. The staff were friendly enough, but check-in was slow. The dining room was empty both nights of my stay, which may have something to do with post-COVID travel.

  • 3/5 Ian S. 1 year ago on Google
An average inner city hotel. At little bit away from the centre of town, so expect a 300 meter walk for any restaurants. There restaurant is closed for evening meals at the moment. However, the breakfast was one of the best presented and tastiest I've had in a hotel in a long time.

  • 3/5 Timothy B. 2 years ago on Google
The room itself was nice and large, with spacious bedrooms and living space. It would be great for the cleaning staff to check under furniture. We found a lot of rubbish when we moved a couch, including a small bag of drugs. There were also at least two glasses with large cracks in them. There is a spa bath in the room that has no plug and no power which was a shame. It would have been nice to unwind after the 6am fire alarm woke us up and we had to walk down 10 floors and back up. We also had no staff supporting residents during the drill and nobody even mentioned it when we checked out. There is also a lot of Christian propaganda in the room with a bookshelf full of bibles. This was offensive to me and hotels don’t really need to push the beliefs of management on their patrons in my opinion.

Booked for 4 nights B&B The female staff were all lovely & very helpful, couldn't do enough to help. We discovered that -: The chef had left the previous week, so no dinners or room service. House keeping doesn't visit until the 3rd day, but so had to ring up for fresh towels & they don't provide face clothes. On the 3rd morning interrogated about having booked. Plus you can't order just toast, you have to order eggs with toast without eggs. Very noisy due to the apartments next door. Nil pois Housekeeping don't visit until the 3r

Very professional staff, great decor, excellent breakfast. The room had an aircon unit on wheels connected to the wall with a hose which is not something I've seen before in a hotel. Bed was comfortable but mini fridge only a metre from the bed was a bit noisy overnight.

Room was spacious and clean. Bed wasn't the best, but was not terrible. Location is great and close to lots of restaurants. Did not really have any interactions with the staff to comment on service. Served its purpose as a one-night stay between stops.

  • 3/5 Catherine T. 1 year ago on Google
Reception staff were accommodating and friendly. Room was ok, bed soft with roll together. If you're wanting to kick back and watch movies you will be disappointed as the TV channel options are not very good. Location is great with a small walk to the Sky Tower and Queen Street.

Central Auckland location, very near all essential services and the Auckland university. The flat had beds for only three and the fourth person has to sleep on a bed sofa. Essential utensils in the kitchen was missing or only provided as disposable items. Stairs connecting the two bedrooms with kitchen downstairs.

Good budget hotel. Excellent location just opposite Sky City and very close to the harbour. Clean room and bathroom. Minimalist, so bring along some of your basic toiletries. A little bit of street noise but you are in the middle of the city and the windows can be opened/closed (instead of fully fixed windows), and I didn’t spend much time in the room anyway. Friendly service, and the hotel gave me some good recommendations. A minor suggestion for improvement. My room was next to the laundry room, and as the laundry room was busy, the opening/closing of the laundry door would cause my room door to vibrate. Could prevent or improve this by repairing the laundry door or leaving it permanently open so the door doesn’t keep moving.

A big crowd of us arrived altogether. It must have been a nightmare for the staff! Edwardo was calm and charming as he worked with us and the rest of the folk. This was at 10.30 pm and when we got up to leave early next morning (ie 6am), he was on the front desk again - still smiling and helpful. What a guy!

We had an amazing apartment with everything you are likely to need, including a washing machine. Great, as we're on the road for over a month in NZ. It is a shame that the Art Deco theme stops at the ground level. A little more attention to detail would make a difference as curtains creased and ill-fitted and furniture tired.

The hotel is short on staff so we had to wait a little before we could check in. The staff they have is super friendly. The room has a good space. The pillows could be softer but that's just our subjective opinion. Overall very good experience :)

The hotel and location exceeded our expectation. It’s value for money as it’s well equipped with a kitchenette with all we need for a short stay. Staff are polite and helpful. We would recommend to anyone who visit Auckland.

Our room was great, 2 king singles & kitchen area. Location was also very good. Short 5 minute walk to Intercity Bus Terminal & Star City. 10 minute walk to downtown shopping strip, Queen St. 20 minute wate to harbour & ferry's. Minor short coming was inner city traffic & inner city apartment population noises. Our room was on first floor with no lift access, we had to use stairs.

Wanted to dine and dance and stay the night. Booked in fine. Notified of dietary requirements. Got a call back, Chef refused to make a vegetarian meal. I Asked just to make something easy and simple or if we could eat off main menu, chef still said no. Gotta wonder who's boss! Manager was polite and just offered a refund. Went elsewhere for nye. Head chef that can't make a salad, what a joke 😂

Rooms were spacious and clean. Disappointed because there was an early check in fee. Yet, our friends did not have to pay it. No wash cloths in the room, we had to go and buy some. Convenient coffee/sandwich shop in the lobby. Conveniently located and within walking distance to the downtown area. Frustrated because the front counter could not print an invoice out. They did not close our account until they went and checked the rooms to make sure nothing was taken or damaged and then they emailed the invoice to us. We would stay there again.

The outside suggests an older property but connrcts to a modern block. The location was excellent for Sky City. Not too far from the wharf with the restaurants and bars. Check-in and staff were great. The room on the 10th floor had a full kitchen / laundry. The lounge area was slightly tired, and the sofa was uncomfortable as the seating sank. Upstairs, the bed was comfortable, but the curtains need attention. Overall, it was a positive experience, but attention to detail would significantly improve the rating.

The location of the hotel is extremely good. That’s the biggest advantage this hotel has. The breakfast is not. that which were shown in the pictures. The only fresh item you would get for vegetarians is an apple and rocket salad. the rooms are spacious, but have old ancillaries in the bathroom. they have a portable air condition in the room which was noisy and not functioning . It was corrected by the personal but was not functioning as per our expectations. The service in total was good as they are not responsible for old ancillaries as well as the breakfast provided by the management.
