DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Terrible stench present on all but the first floor. The hallways from the second floor to the top all reek of spoiled food. It was such a detestable stench that by the time I made it inside the room I was literally gagging and dry heaving. Had there been anything in my stomach, I would've vomited it all out right there. Inside the actual room the smell was present only around the main access door. The room itself also had hair in the sink from a previous guest and a single hair elsewhere in the bathroom. Even though the smell was only present inside the room near the entryway, I still had to leave the property after ONLY eighty minutes due to my absolute intolerance of the horrendously stinky corridors that I would've been forced to utilize to enter and depart the room. It's such a revolting and pervasive odor that it just takes your breath away and definitely not in a good way. The location is decent. The one positive aspect of the property was the extraordinarily kind receptionist at the front that I spoke with before departing. Sadly, there was nothing that the receptionist or the staff could do to eliminate the caustic smell present in the corridors. I think if they replaced all the carpeting on the second floor and above as well as also stripping and repainting the walls, the smell would go away. But this likely needs to be done no less often than every fourth year in order to keep the disgusting odor from taking over once again. I do hope they will make these changes so their future guests will not have to endure the sickening stench.

Had a really lovely stay here. Was close to everything we needed. Booked the spa suite and was not expecting a park view. Beautiful! Carpark was easy and a handy assest. Staff handled my request in a timely and efficient manner. Overall am I very happy and will definitely book future stays here.

A nice clean, quiet hotel. It seems as though guests can smoke on balconies which meant that smoke wafted into my room. The room was clean and well setup for self catering. Location and park view is nice.

Location was good and within walking distance to the city centre. Steep uphill walk back though for those who have mobility issues. Bus stop virtually 20 mtrs from the door of the hotel. Lady on reception was just doing her job and there was no extraordinary service there as far as making you welcome etc. Music in the waiting part of the lobby is loud, jerky and annoying. Rooms were good with great views. There was an issue with bathroom where the water ended up all over the floor as the small screen over the bath leaked. Beds were very comfortable and the small kitchen well equipped with everything you need. Only there for 3 nights and it was a pleasant stay overall.

Has Ranchold your spa pool is green again. For the 3rd time in 6 weeks. This is a 2 star motel at best. I told your staff it was green and they proceeded to say it was OK to swim in with my 4 year old daughter!!? Do you have any pride in working here? Does your staff have any pride?? Why someone would pay to stay here a night is beyond me. Look elsewhere people this place isn't maintained well and the rooms are outdated and haven't been refurbished in over 15years since I lived here last time. New manager should be hired. Or green pools are hospitality standards!?🤣🤮

I previously stayed when this was the Amora. It is now hotel rooms and apartments. The rooms are ok, comparable to a 4* hotel. BUT.....there is no restaurant or bar...and room service is optional. It is in a reasonable central location but you have to walk up to K Road for any food or corner shop or bottle shop. The few staff were friendly and helpful. But otherwise there is no atmosphere. I didn't choose to stay here as it was booked by my employer and I probably wouldn't make it a first choice if I was booking myself.

Awesome customer service from front desk. However the room had 2 dark hand prints on the wall by the bedside table, the shower was dangerous with a metal pole where I presume was where the old shower door was, as well as dark mold and pink mold on the inside of the shower. Also no towels had to ask reception for some and no body soap or body wash, had to ask for that also, last gripe is mold in the fridge...won't let my wife book this place again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Friendly staff, nice room with a comfortable bed and good AC, no issues... We're glad to have chosen a room with a spa - used it multiple times, and the room layout doesn't isolate you from the rest of the room while you're in it. The kosher deli just outside does incredible bagels.

This property was well situated for our visit. Very clean and comfortable. The view over the park was a bonus. We will return I have to acknowledge the manager of this property. I did have an issue with my booking, but the manager called me, and my situation was handled very professionally. Thank you

Location is good, however there's development construction sites opposite the hotel. Making street parking a challenge. There is hotel parking for $35, it is very tight parking, not suitable for big vehicles. Overall the accomodation is a "love" for us. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel with perfect location near to queens street and from balcony we could see sky tower. Rooms and washrooms were clean. Beds were of good size for 3 people with nice kitchen and possible facilities including pool, spa and Gym. Though parking we could not get due to pre booking required but got near by Wilson parking for $24 for 24 hrs with code provided by hotel. Overall very good experience

I had a very enjoyable stay at Parkside. The staff at check in and check out were friendly and helpful. I stayed in the penthouse suite which was clean and comfortable it had awesome views of the sky tower. The pod coffee machine was a nice touch. It was good to have a nice coffee on my balcony looking at the view in the morning.

Comfortable one night stay. The room showed it's age with some paint chipping and older style bathroom (high step-in tub). Modest outdoor swimming pool and hot pool was a nice perk.

Edit: We didn't even go back to the hotel our last night. Paid for another one. Dear management, please fix the air conditioner problem so your employees don't have to spend so much time apologizing. It's been at least 23 degrees in our room for three days. We have already switched rooms. We have overheard others asking the desk how to cool the rooms down. Beds are comfy, and the shower has good temperature and pressure. Employees are friendly. Wi-Fi is fast. It's just hot in the rooms . We will book a different hotel next time in Auckland.

Location is central and superb - alongside Queen St and a street below K Road. Also next door to the Kosher Bakery that makes the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever tasted (beating Levain in NYC). Staff are attentive and the rooms get cleaned daily. Rooms are super spacious and well convenient with kitchen, laundry and balcony. Rooms come with Google Chrome if you’d prefer to cast your own (i did). Not noisy, has a perfect view out to the city. I stayed for a week and wish it was longer - will definitely come here again and again

Reasonable location, rooms were a little dated but otherwise fine. Service at reception was lacking - staff were inattentive and appeared oblivious to the guests waiting at the desk. This was particularly irksome as it took three visits to get a working keycard for our room. Parking was quite dear. Ok for a major city for the price, but I would expect that better options are available - would likely look elsewhere if staying in Auckland again.

Hotel was very nice but the asain lady at the reception that was working in the afternoon of the 23/2/24 was very very rude and unhelpful. Asked for parking which there was none and she was very rude about. When asked about alternative parking she sent us the complete wrong way. Will not be back due to the horrible service.

Pretty disappointed in our experience here. We booked the King Spa Studio for our honeymoon, based on the pictures on the website. The pictures make it look quite nicely decorated, with flowers and a duvet topper. These weren't present in reality. We also encountered the following issues: - Housekeeping didn't come until the third day of our stay and didn't restock the toilet paper until we had asked 3 times meaning we had to go and get our own. It wasn't replaced again at all during our stay. - The air conditioning didn't seem to work properly, as despite us changing the temperature setting the room stayed the same temperature. - The kitchenette tap started leaking during our stay. We informed reception but nobody came to fix it. The fridge cupboard door was also loose when we arrived and the top hinge eventually fully came away. - When we arrived there was a strong food smell in the room and a large patch of the carpet near the kitchen was very damp and didn't dry fully until the last day of our stay. - A more minor complaint but in general it just felt quite dated and not the 4-star experience we expected. We ended up checking out a day early and wouldn't choose to go back. The experience was not worth the price.

Honestly do not waste your time and money on this hotel/apartments! Spend a bit more money and stay somewhere else! My Partner bought this room for us as a surprise night away for me, what a big mistake that was! The reception and nice lounging area is promising and nice but dont let that fool you as soon as my partner and I walked out the lift the corridor stank of smoke and the interior was just awful outdated carpets and yellow walls… As soon as we opened the door to the room i was shocked lots of marks on the walls (can tell the rooms are very old) outdated furniture old carpet and weird smell in the room. We left there faster than you can say Parkside Hotel Apartments. You also need to leave a $100 deposit for the room which is just crazy considering the state of the rooms. My partner was so upset and embarrassed that my surprise night away never went to plan since the state of the room and hotel had let us down big time and he could not get his money back only the deposit :( PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! I wish id taken photos but we were in shock and left instantly!

Not happy with this experience. Location is good but I’m leaving the hotel checking out the bond isn’t refundable immediately and every time I ask what’s happening I’m told out of there control been 2 weeks nearly. Won’t recommend this place to anyone. Easy to take money from people but won’t return it.

Our stay during April this year (2023) at the Parkside Hotel was pleasant. The room, a Superior studio, was well-appointed with convenient amenities, such as a washing machine/dryer and a fully equipped kitchenette. The staff were fantastic, incredibly friendly and always available to lend a helping hand. The hotel's location in the heart of Auckland's central business district made it easy to get around the city. Overall, we had a fantastic experience for 8 days at the Parkside Hotel and we would highly recommend the Parkside Hotel when in Auckland next.

Solid, spacious room with everything you need and a great view of the city. A free washing machine in the room is also included. For the price, you can't really fault the room. You can walk to the city center in 5 minutes. There is also a small pool, but you shouldn't expect too much. However, it is a little disappointing that breakfast is only available until 9am, which is clearly too early.

Love this place, definitely coming back, tree-lined, overlooking park, walking distance to everything downtown, yet slightly to the side making it peaceful. Love the facilities and rooms. Feels like quality, but reasonably priced. Looking forward to more time here.

The photo of the room itself may be misleading given the wide view the phone camera took - it does look bigger than it is in reality. This has been the worst stay I’ve ever experienced in my travels. We were in what they termed a Family Room for 4 adults but upon check-in, it was obvious that the space was for a double room at best. There were 2 Queen beds squeezed into the tiny room, the bedside lights on the wall indicated clearly that it was meant for just 1 Queen bed, maybe a King. The tv was placed on the study table and so yes, there was a chair right in front of it as well, cos there was no where else to place it. Were we expected to watch Tv at a 15” distance?? The doors to the drawers in the kitchenette were also falling off. The 4 of us ended needing to eat/drink on our bed cos there just wasn’t enough space. And you definitely cannot possibly leave anything more than 1 luggage opened on the floor without tripping over something. The toilet is another huge issue. It looked like it belonged to an old hospital from the 70s. There was no vanity area, the tiles were grimy and greyed from age. The shower curtains were also disgusting and dirty. The toilet and shower were also in the same room. So imagine 4 persons needing to take queue numbers just to do a no.1, 2 or shower. This place made our stay in Auckland uncomfortable and dreadful, at best. It was money wasted and a much looked forward to travel experience to Auckland ruined. Thanks for nothing, Parkside.

Enjoyed our 4 night stay here. Good location, 20 min walk to britomart train station. Right in centre of town but easy to get to from the motorway. Plenty of eateries close by. Room was clean and tidy, rooms are nothing flash and a bit old but do the trick. Bonus having a washer/drier in the room, didn't have to take dirty washing home from holiday.

Great rooms, great crew! It was an amazing stay for our little family. Great proximity to all the happenings in the city. Special mention to the Parkside team who were always ready to help with a smile and so gracious in answering our boys’ curious question. Bring on next school holidays.

My partner and I recently treated ourselves to an early Valentines night away at Parkside Hotel and Apartments. We loved it. The receptionist April was very welcoming and professional and the Executive Suite we booked was better than expected. The room was immaculate with a fantastic balcony view overlooking the city. Wish we could have stayed another night to enjoy the heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Would highly recommend!

Loved the location, very central but also tucked away behind the park so you get the peace and quiet without having to travel too far. Their room was spacious and well kept and all for a good price. Highly recommend!

We were excited to stay here after reading others reviews. Unfortunately we had ongoing trouble with key cards and when we first arrived we were sent to a room that someone else was already in. Major breech of privacy and security for the other guest and we weren't impressed. We booked a deluxe spa suite for the sole purpose of using the spa and it blew cold when going and made horrific knocking noises and needed a proper detailed clean. The staff were lovely but unfortunately we were disappointed After leaving this review the reception emailed promptly and offered a refund on one of our two nights stay. Happy with result and happy with their prompt communication and willingness to fix the problem

A hotel I have visited twice already on my trips up to Auckland! Excellent rooms, spacious and comfortable, would highly recommend. Love the walk back to the hotel after meals, don’t miss out!

Avoid room 906. We checked in and this room hadn't been cleaned properly. Most notable was toothpaste on bench by bathroom sink and splatters of something? On wall beside bed. Checked the sheets after seeing this and saw that they had black marks on them. Looked like maybe mascara or something. Notified reception and went out. When we returned the sheets had been changed but had to clean toothpaste myself. Other things we have discovered during our stay and noted to reception is that there's no latch on ranch slider door and the auto close on main door does not work properly so you think door is closed but it isn't. Also remote for TV doesn't work. Bed was comfortable and it was handy to town. Staff were nice. Sorry it's not a more positive review.

Great location, great service! My husband and I had our first night away with our baby (4 months old) for my husband’s birthday. We stayed in a Penthouse suite and enjoyed the view from the balcony, the tv in the lounge AND in the bedroom and the convenience of the kitchenette. We were within a stones throw of some great restaurants and walking distance from Queen St which was ideal!

We had a fantastic stay here this Easter. The hotel was full but Charlie, the Guest Services Manager, proved to be very accomodating and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic stay. This kind of employee is an asset to any hospitality establishment and would definitely have us recommending a stay at this hotel.

It was fortunate to booked my stay while I was in Auckland in Parkside Hotel, I was lucky through location wise where it is in central of Auckland so I took advantage of the downtown location to walk to dinner, chaos of city life, accessible for everything. Every staff I encountered, from check in till check out as receptionist, housekeeper, General manager (Desmond) were delightful and eager to help ! They were extremely accommodating and allow us to check in early and kept our luggage for a while even after check out so this was a big plus. Early view from room was Mesmerising. The service was exceptional as well. Would definitely recommend everyone to keep this hotel on your top of go to booking list while you want to be in Auckland. Thank you so much for hosting very well. See you soon. 😊

Very nice rooms. The location is a bit uphill but mangable. They didn't clean our room although we kept calling and reminding them to do so. The answer was the same: we will get to your room later. At the end the answer was changed to: the staff already left...

  • 2/5 B B. 1 year ago on Google
I had booked a two night stay direct with the hotel web site during Easter weekend. Charlie at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and relatively clean [except for the bathroom floor]. The real issue I had was with the washing machine. It ruined my new hiking pants, changing them to muddled gray color from black. When I reported this to the front desk and asked for reimbursement, they claimed the washer worked fine and offered to wash my clothes for me [not sure how they were going to put the black back] The hotel was short staffed all weekend, with no one to refresh the room or remove trash. This is a three star hotel that could become a four star property with more attention to detail and better customer service.. Steer clear if you are looking for a good customer experience.

We stayed here with my one-year old, and it was great! The location is fantastic (close to restaurants that are open late and walkable to the downtown area). It was clean, and the staff was efficient and friendly. I would stay here again!

Simply loved our stay. The apartment was very comfortable, spacious (which is so rare in the city center) and clean. Bath tub was a plus and our wee lil one enjoyed his baths. The hotel staff were very professional and polite. Special thanks to Desmond (the G.M.), who was very thoughtful and helpful which made our stay extraordinary. On top of that, the location of the place is spot on. Right in the heart of city center, so wandering around the city was easy as. All in all we had an amazing overall experience. Would definitely stay there whenever we are in Auckland.

A beautiful spot to stay with all the amenities you could ask for. The staff were lovely. A special shout-out to my man Charlie for catering to our groups every need and being a hell of a personable chap while doing so. Thankyou Charlie.

We had a wonderful stay. We were upgraded to the Exec suite with a lovely view of the Myers Park. The room had a well equipped kitchenette. Prathmesh was very helpful as was his colleague in getting us rooms serviced and organising a very relaxed checkout. Pretty close to Queen Street and all that the CBD has to offer. Recommended
