Found a lucky park right outside. Had a lovely meal for dinner there at the German cuisine restaurant called Berlinchen. Huge share platter was delicious and they have a self serve salad bar which was cool. Beautiful surroundings, the restaurant is in the centre of the building with a huge high glass ceiling. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Returning to Auckland and wanted to stay in out favourite hotel. But we read such bad reviews. Ignore them! We checked in early and our favourite room had been reserved for us and was ready. We decided not to have daily housekeeping as I do know how to make a bed ! We just made a list of what we would need, towels, coffee, toiletries etc and these were dropped off in the afternoon by a very pleasant lady. She even checked to see and noticed we had run out of milk. The staff were tremendous. We had continental breakfast on our last morning now there is a restaurant again. Pool area clean and I swam several times. I would say that some of the pool furniture had seen better days but that didn't hinder my enjoyment. Ignore those bad reviews the heritage is as good as ever. Glad we returned to an old friend.

We stayed in a private apartment which was lovely. A bit if a walk to the roif top pool but worth it. You can take your food and beverage with you but no glass aloud. We made a nuce big salad, took our wine in our chiller bottle and took our own chiller goblets, and a small cloth to set up the table. Best views ever

Let me just preface this by saying I usually don't leave reviews for many things. This hotel was the last stop for my wife and I before we leave New Zealand, and it has definitely soured the end of our trip. Squeaky floor boards in about 4 different places inside the room itself. And it is immensely noticeable just casually walking into the room for the first time. Not really a massive deal, but it is mildly irritating. Our "view" looks out into the restaurant in the hotel with no view except directly into other peoples' rooms (you can see a little of the sky tower if you look directly up), some of whom have not drawn the blinds, we could see a couple having intercourse in a room across from ours. I wasn't too worried about the lack of a view until I saw how much you can see into the other guests' rooms. Shower has this weird glass panel that only covers half the tub, sprays water all over when my wife and I tried to shower. As a side effect you get a lot of cooler air coming into the shower, which does ruin the experience a bit. The bed we have is actually two beds pushed together and they slid apart while my wife and I were sleeping. Not a sheet holding them together, nor a foam piece to help bridge the gap. And to much less effect, the in-room TV looks straight out of the early 2000s and based on the quality of the picture, I don't even think it supports 1080p. The only part of this hotel that I think is even remotely worth the money is the central location. But location, location, location does not make a $200/night hotel. While some people have left good reviews, it seems extremely dependant upon which wing of the hotel you stay in. We stayed in the hotel wing, not the tower and it was a dreadful experience. With this hotel being the last hotel before we leave New Zealand, the trip is ending on a very bad note. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the quality. I don't believe I would return and could not recommend this hotel unless you exclusively need an overpriced place to sleep for the night. Probably would have been better finding a $60 motel.

An excellent hotel. Great historical providence & a room for different types of people. Excellent parking & business friendly. Excellent pool & spa facilities. Staff were friendly. Rooms are excellent. Indoor pool & spa/gym if weather is bad. Convenient location for the cbd & the viaduct. Thanks, Charles CJ's Junk Removal Service, Auckland CBD.

It was an ok stay. It’s not like it used to be. Breathe some life back into this place! The reception area needs some brightness and life. The room was very dated and has definitely seen better days. It was clean and the bed was comfortable so that was good. Don’t think we will be returning in a hurry though.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a friend for the weekend. The room was amazing, so large and we had access to the balcony from the bedrooms and dining room. Was so lovely having our own bathrooms as well. We did not want to leave! Will definitely be booking those room type again as its awesome having the huge lounge dining kitchen area as well as having our separate space!

Dirty, run down and disappointing. The pandemic is no excuse for missing the basics of maintenance, cleanliness and service. Old milk spillage on the kitchenette bench, hair strands in the fridge, fridge door cannot close because of ice buildup. Toothpaste in the basin from the previous guest, soap build up. Dirty and mouldy silicone around the bathroom fixtures. Shower doesn’t work properly. Shower handle still had soap from previous guest. Dirty hand prints on the glass, stained bed linen. If there was a bar (which there’s not) I’d drink enough to not think about whether the sheets were changed. $45 per night for valet parking, confusing to know where you should go or whether you’ll get your car back. No concierge - haul your own bags. $200 bond chargeable in case you drink the mini bar (but there’s no mini bar) or trash the place (but you really wouldn’t bother).

The hotel was ok. The service was ok. Nothing was exceptional. We stayed here for 3 nights and I had to ask 3 times if we could have another couple of tea bags and sugar. The pool was really nice, the gyms were good and well maintained, everything was clean and tidy. It was very central and only a short walk to the viaduct. One thing I did not like was my room did not have any natural light. There was a window that looked out over the closed restaurant and the whole thing was covered in. I could not tell if it was wet, cold, etc didn't know if I should take a jacket or what weather to dress for. I personally wouldn't stay here if It was a personal trip.

Try To Book a room for 3 Nites Prepared to spend $900 the Booking Service was Terrible Couldn't understand the Mans Accent and after giving him all my Relevant Details He said he would Need to check Me out and he would ring Back Well he Rang Back one Hour Later wouldn't tell me why I had to wait an Hour and wouldn't give me a Price or what was Available while he was being unhelpful I book in Down the Road at a Better Hotel with a Great Reception Staff and it was at a Better Price sadly I will Never Ever have anything to Do with the Heritage and I will tell everyone to Go Elsewhere.

Great place albeit a little old fashioned. Roof top pool beautiful with great views. Clean, tidy, 100+ yards to the roof tower, 300+ yards the other way to the harbour where there are loads of beautiful restaurants and bars.

Located right in the heart of town, this is as close as you could get to the hustle and bustle. The very attractive room rates are also a tribute to the Tang family's charitable and generous spirit of giving. The hotel is overall, well maintained, and the rooms are clean and in good condition. Corridors are neat and tidy. Followers of Jesus Christ be aware that this is a Christian owned concern, and in some ways, a house of God. The late Mr Tang Wee Cheng will always be remembered at Newton Life Church. Praise the Lord!

The first time I've been in a hotel room that was taller than it was wide. On the plus side, it was reasonably clean and came with a kitchenette with cutlery and crockery for 2 people. On the negative side, there was only a single small table that was mostly occupied by the TV and a single chair that wouldn't fit under the table. The only flat surface available to pack/unpack bags was the kitchen bench - and the overhead cupboards blocked properly opening my bags. I found the bed uncomfortably soft. I had to ask for hand soap in the bathroom.

For a birthday trip, this was a truely disappointing experience from the start. The receptionist checking us in was rude and unbothered, despite no others in the reception at the time, no greeting was offered or even a hint of a welcome. Then onto the rooms - dated, dusty and not what was listed when booking. The soap holder in the shower was completely rusted and the shower glass streaky and almost greasy. I booked a suite with two queen beds and even confirmed this with a member of staff when booking - however, this was not the case. 1 queen and two singles. The only perk was the swim we had in the pool that evening. However, fitting it with the hotel experience , when we went to swim the next morning, the spa was out of order and the pool maintenance crew were vacuuming the pool - which was odd considering we had waiting until long after the pool was showing as open to go, so as to avoid this situation. This hotel is advertised as 4*, but it is very far from it. This has made for an extremely disappointing experience and I will be making sure not to return. The staff made us feel like a total inconvenience. Also, when having the bond refunded, it will take 3-5 working days. They will likely neglect to tell you this at the time.

Stayed here after a long flight from the UK, absolutely exhausted. Brilliant location, only 5 minute walk to viaduct and main shops and highstreet. Beds are super comfy, probably one of the nicest hotel beds I’ve stayed in. Room was large but a bit dated, found it odd was no bed side table so was unit behind the bed with everything so having the lamp on meant having it glow over your face and tv on the side wall is a bit awkward. Nice hot shower bath, really clean, although could do with water in the fridge on arrival, we had to buy our own as was no room service when we arrived. Husband used the gym which was nice, wish it was a nicer day to use the roof top pool. Staff were friendly and helpful and suggested where to go for food! No complaints really, just a few little things more thought out and would be perfect.

Our family loved our stay at the Heritage Auckland. The roof top pool is an absolute treasure and the pool was heated enough that our kids enjoyed a swim in July, with a warming dip in the spa afterward. The hotel staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was very spacious and had a real charm to it, far better than some of the bland, tiny rooms that are common with hotels today. Our room was very clean, the only negative was the water pressure in the shower but that is a minor and as we explained to the kids, that's how showers used to be when we were young. Highly recommend this hotel, we will definitely be back to stay again.

Great place to stay, nice size rooms with high ceilings, the staff were brilliant and helpful.👍 and with the valet parking it made our trip all that bit more relaxing. Also within walking distance to some of the best restaurants and plenty of activities. We would definitely stay again.

Speechless - used to be so much better but the quality of the staff is letting it down, downright rude front desk today. Second stay in 3 months and never again. Both times had issues. Was told booking included concierge service to park our car, waited 20 minutes with car as needed to let taxi's through, only to be told after being abused by a taxi driver, they did have enough staff to offer this with no apologies? Today the front desk would not hold onto a small bag for 10 minutes until the other guests had come down!? Stupid little things that left us fuming..

Such friendly, helpful staff. We had a great family trip. Great location. Beautiful view of the bridge. Loved the pools!!!

This hotel has everything! The location is walkable to the Harbour and Britomart rail station/CBD. Room was HUGE (we had a double queen). Beds were comfortable. Kitchenette and laundry were major added bonuses. We had a balcony that had views of the Bridge. Nice and quiet atmosphere. Restaurant on premises. 2 gyms, 2 pools, and 2 hot tubs (rooftop was spectacular). Would stay here every time I'm in Auckland. Right around the corner from our favorite breakfast spot, Federal Cafe. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

The hotel, while having an aesthetically pleasing appearance, falls short in certain aspects. The staff, although seemingly lovely, cannot compensate for the glaring issue of inadequate parking facilities. It is unfortunate that such an essential amenity is lacking, as it significantly impacts the overall experience of staying at the hotel.

  • 5/5 Pauline O. 7 months ago on Google
Great stay with every amenity needed after arriving from London via Singapore. Ideally located for both walking to the harbour to enjoy a drink and meal and also Queens Street for shopping. Sky Tower is close by.

when we checked in it was like,, really old and outdated, but I didn't want to complain. After the showers, it became obvious , water was escaping the shower booth to everywhere. Complained to the service desk and said no maintenance tonight. Eventually, took 2 calendar days to fix the problem, and it too more that once for the service man to come back. Spoke about this at a the oust, I asked for a 10% discount and was promised that a manager will get back tome. it happens, that our house key were left in a room. asked to send them back to me. Promised, by Doreen T to do so, but no communication/action from Heritage .Sent numerous emails. No response. still waiting for some help and action from Heritage, and now think now 20% discount is just generous. Don't do Heritage until location Vlad

Brilliant location practically next to the Auckland Sky Tower. Walkable to the harbour, central shopping areas. Hop on n off bus stops just nearby. Our room was a great choice with a small kitchenette, balcony and bathroom with washing machine and dryer. Ideal if on a long long journey .. you can wash everything and reset. No bad thing to have your breakfast etc at leisure . Swimming pool on roof and tennis courts in complex.

Loved our stay, Beautiful rooms, great service and the rooftop pool and spa plus the gym, are amazing. We will absolutely stay here again, plus just across the street from the sky tower. Awesome hotel

  • 1/5 Lisa S. 2 years ago on Google
This Hotel was such a disappointment! The rooms were tired and sad, it was a rabbit warren of empty rooms and lobbies and super confusing with 2 lift towers which was not explained on arrival and meant 30 mins wasted trying to get to the rooftop pool. Pool was ok but would not stay again. We paid $45 for Valet parking even though we hard to park it ourself due to Covid. Seemed way too expensive.

Pretty good. The location is great and the rooms are nice. The ladies on the desk were really good. However, there were two Indian blokes on the counter that let the service quality down.

We just went in for breakfast. It's a nice looking restaurant in the atrium part of the hotel. The buffet was nice with plenty of options. It's good value anyway, but if you are able to take advantage of their two for one deal, it's great value! I'll be back!

Just wonderful! Titoa provided absolutely excellent service - she was friendly, accomodating and helpful. That kindness really impacted our stay, making us feel so welcome and comfortable. Loved the big rooms and the pool & spa :) Also, the beds were incredibly comfy - best sleep ever!! Will definitely be coming back again!

This is a hotel that was last renovated in the 90’s. It has a sort of 90’s charm about it. When we visited, all of the food and beverage was not operational (no restaurant, no room service, no mini bar). The “tower wing”, where we stayed, was completely unstaffed. The hotel is clearly renting many of the rooms to full timers, some of which then sublease the rooms, which makes for a “colourful” collection of folk at public areas like the rooftop pool. I would have given it two stars, but frankly, the room was neat and tidy, and room cleaning impeccable and daily (which made up for everything else). If you want to reminisce about black steel and glass furniture and 90’s style developments of excess, stay here. Otherwise, book a room at the better located “holiday inn express” which is newer.

Desk staff didn't know what they were doing or communicate well when taking deposit and payment. Very confusing and odd "policy" for payment. No bar, restaurant, room service. Place pretty tired, scuffed and bitsy. Pools not heated enough. Show signs of under-management and lack of asset management. Beds comfy and rooms reasonable. Washer and dryer didn't work properly. Found a pair of someone's underwear in the unit. No venting for dryer so nothing dries despite trying for 6 hours (thank god their power not ours). Wont be going back. Shame as we have stayed many times previously and have had a good experience. Wont be fooled into "we will try harder next time" copy and paste responses. Would require a miracle for this place to improve.

Worst experience.. fixated on us dropping our bags off befor we checked in seemed normal for a place like that. When we arrived. We witnessed people pointed to there bags in a room which they could collect like if it was a air port.!!! If you are asking for bags to be drop off befor stay. Why ant they already in ur room waiting. And why did the people have to grab it.. We are standing there this 2 other separate people. Clearly from over seas .. 1 is asking why they have lost personal docmiants that were dropped in and the person behind the desk is saying it didn't happen. Then anther comes ford . Complaneing of the same issue. 2 separate people.. Then we get to our room. No towels or tolet paper .. our scaning cards randomlystop working. We have to leave our rooms and go and fix it at reception. . Almost like the room hadn't been turned over. .. almost felt like once payment it was the end of it. Verry strange place. I would be verry carful there. Please don't stay if you are young and from over seas. .xx please stay somewhere eals. From anther kiwi telling that. Verry odd place. I wouldn't book and I would be verry verry careful of personal documents and passports. Going to report what we witnessed and experienced.

Check in where confusing took 25min . Temperature in the rooms kept changing. They offered us a free upgrade on one of the 3 rooms we booked and then charged us the full price also said the hotel was fill but how could it be if you offered a free upgrade.we had water overflowing from silly shower over both impossible for a 85yr old lady to have a shower in her room . And y are you charging a $200 no d which was not refunded as you took it as well as $220 for the so called free upgrade. We will NOT be back will stay somewhere where they tell the truth and doesn't cost me my life savings for the night.

when I made my booking, it said check in time is 2:00pm. when me and my friends arrived at the hotel, they said my room (and about 3 other of my friends rooms) weren’t ready yet, at this stage it was 3:00pm and I was slightly frustrated but not the end of the world. The lady who served me was a trainee, but her customer service was poor at best and probably requires a lot more training before let loose on customer service roll. offered no explanation on why our room wasn’t ready, made no effort to apologies for the inconvenience etc and offered no alternative solutions. I told hotel reception that I’m leaving at 5:00pm and NEED to have my room before then, which they said they’d make happen. well what do you know, 5:00pm comes around and my room STILL isn’t ready??? what was someone doing in this room that takes 3 hours to tidy up??? I understand staff were probably doing their best, but unfortunately on the other side of this, check out is 10am, and my room wasn’t even done by 5pm, so there’s no excuses that will suffice as to why this wasn’t done, you can blame staff shortages if you like but that would be a poor cop out, if you knew you had a lot of bookings you guys should have organised appropriately to accomodate. went down to reception and no real explanation was offered or an apology either. I’d traveled a long way to Auckland and to get there and not even be able to have a shower or unpack our bags and relax was pretty frustrating. Overall had a terrible experience and was never offered compensation for the troubles they put us through. I would enjoy hearing back from someone on this if possible.

It hasn’t even been 24hrs since leaving here and for obvious reasons it wasn’t a good experience. So we have a family of 3 adults 7 children ages 5mnths 1/3/7/1/10 & 12yrs, we planned this staycation for them. They were so excited. Prior to making the booking I made numerous calls to have my 2 rooms and my sisters 1 family room as close to one another as possible, in which receptionist ensures me this was possible “please make note in the notes” and so we did, then I called 2mins prior to arrival. Once arriving at check in, this was by far the case. Rooms were not even ready for a hour and a half 🤯 and on total opposite sides of the building, me on west wing (beautiful views I’m assuming) and my sister closer to reception. Not what I requested cut a longer story short, I’m annoyed, kids are restless we’re still sitting in reception at this point 330pm check in is 2pm. Room smells old & musty. Views of carpark, toilets have trouble flushing, tv does not work at all. 1st night, after some beautiful site seeing, dinner at Denny’s the kids then enjoy a swim in the indoor pools and by 10pm waters cut off unable to shower, but most importantly unable to feed my 5month old (goats milk formula) she’s screaming/crying her head off for what feels like forever, partners downstairs at reception trying to find water for not only my baby but my sisters 1yr old 😤 Day #2 we’re out all day, sky tower, Aotea square arcades and kids are looking forward to a swim, kids head down to reception for towels & are told there are none 🤔 so between both rooms we rummage and make do with what we had wet/damp coz let’s face it kids don’t care they just want a swim, again not the case due to the water cut off the night before all pools including spas are cold 🤯 and that sucks coz this is mainly our reason for staying. RIGHT??? Checking out I inform the receptionist of the no water situation and the inconvenience it caused and he refunds one night valet for both cars. Grateful for anything but would rather not have stayed, it was such a headache. I’m still disappointed. If my request couldn’t be fulfilled y’all should’ve told me when I made the first call instead of selling me dreams because now the kids will never forget this.

My wife & I stayed Queens Anniversary weekend ( Sat & Sun ). We checked in the Saturday afternoon. Over the next 12 hours found the heating in our room wasn't working as we were in & out of the room and keep adjusting the thermostat. Long story short is no one could help and the management claimed the hotel was fill. So we checked out as the room temp was 15.7 degrees at 3pm (Sunday afternoon). We have over the past 2 years stayed around 4 times. The lack of service or care for this issue we wont be back. Heaters were offered but this room is 96sq a felt these wouldn't work like heating a car with a candle. Now waiting up too 2 weeks for a refund.

The room was nice but because they have two towers it’s very confused where you need to park then you choose to walk a long distance on a dark street or get lost inside the towers to get to the other reception because the reception you are now no one works there. Then you got to go back to sleep on the other tower again. In the morning please walk back to check out then walk back again to the other tower where they will bring your car to you. Was like playing a game but when is late and you are tired you don’t really want to keep waking. Good side of it, you can skip leg day at the gym ;)

As business owners ourselves we realise how invaluable reviews are and we like millions of others need honest authentic reviews, here is ours... Last month we stayed three nights at the Heritage at 35 Hobson St, we encouraged 8 other friends to book and stay at the same place as us (so they cancelled their booking at sky city and followed) as we were all attending the same event and they absolutely loved it. Firstly what a beautiful hotel and very well appointed, the rooms are grand and clean and fairly priced, the location is perfect and the staff is professional, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is worth every penny and delicious! So don't leave with out visiting the restaurant. My friends and I would like to mention a special thanks to the Manager Pawan very kind and professional man, also Ronald on the desk helpful and friendly along side Vicky. (these guys and other staff we encountered made sure we were looked after). Keep up the good work guys.! Regards Shannon & Dave
