This review is specifically my experience during managed isolation and quarantine after entering NZ from abroad. The MIQ check in procedures were long due to the number of travelers arriving, but worked efficiently and all hotel staff have proven to be polite, helpful and caring during a difficult time. Any time I have called reception with a question I have been greeted with a cheerful hello and my questions have been answered politely with no hesitation. The food has been excellent and I have joked with family that I may never eat this well again. The room is comfortable, well supplied with everything needed and if I need anything extra I just call and it is sent up within minutes. The speed of room service is truly impressive even when family dropped off a care package at reception for me. In the first few days I found the outside noise a little loud at night, but I am used to it after several days. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel to other travelers, hopefully in less stressful times.

Excellent stay with this hotel! Stayed for 2N3D with 2 little ones just for a staycation. We got a nice twin room at the 15th floor with a nice view of the SkyTower. Clean room and very comfortable beds. Very good room service --- cleaning staff, food, and in-room dining services. The kids enjoyed their Kids Menu. Buffet breakfast serves a good variety. I love the location coz we can walk around Queen Street and is very close to lots of food shops. Lastly, I would like to commend Sarah from the reception for being friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It was raining by the time we checked out; Sarah went out of her way to hold out the umbrella for me and my baby on our way to the car. And did the same thing for hubby while he was loading our luggage. Now I am writing this review because I remember her kindness and cheerfulness. Great staff you got there Four Points Hotel! Only thing that needs improvement is to organise and check regularly the number codes for the CarPark if they are updated or working. The codes we got did not work and hubby had to wait around outside the building for a couple of minutes whilst raining. The receptionist helped us contact the 3rd party carpark personnel to investigate why the codes didn't work. The gates got remotely opened by the personnel eventually. Other than that, it was a great accommodation overall. So, I still give them a 5 star review!

I just completed a long stay (28 Nights). Had a nice time. The hotel is clean, neat, and well organized. The rooms are very nice an spacious with comfortable beds and pillows. Nice facilities and a good location. I will say this hotel was so pleasant with the number of outlets to plug in chargers. The rooms are well equipped and mine had a lovely balcony. All of the staff are professional and friendly. I do have to say that Harry particularly stood out as very helpful and a really great attitude. Can’t wait to come back! 😀

Modern hotel that is conveniently located. Close to Queen Street and High Street where most of your shopping needs will be served. Also close walking distance to the Sky Tower, Viaduct Harbour and the Auckland Art Gallery. Lots of restaurants and eateries in the area. Our room was small but clean. Breakfast buffet is a bit small, selection is limited but quality is decent. Friendly staff.

Clean, quiet and comfortable but a little far out from the central areas and Marina unless your younger and fitter. Reception staff were great helping me order taxis when my phone broke. Rooms adequate but a little small for 2 people on stays of more than 1 or 2 nights

Great rooms, service and meals. Breakfast was consistently one of the best I have had. Bed was very comfortable and I actually used the bath tub which is rare for me. Now I want the same at home. Staff were excellent and very friendly. I will be coming back here for sure

Didn’t see much reviews containing information about gym so here it goes. The gym is amazing. Fully finished with Technogym equipment, nicely located and with fully functional WC (including shower). There’s even machine with some fit snacks and drinks, as well as free tap water. Apart from that, the hotel is nice and comfortable.

I had a great stay at the Four Points. The concierge was helpful, and check in and out was seamless. There’s nothing particularly exciting in the direct vicinity of the hotel, but it is within walking distance from most places we needed to go to in Auckland. The room was comfortable and generally quiet (though you could hear if someone was shouting outside). The bed was a little too warm for the season but comfortable. Worth the money. Also the Churchill bar is quite nice. Would definitely stay here again if I find myself back in Auckland.

Fairly standard modern room. Nothing too fancy had it had a lot of charging ports. The buttons for Do Not Distrub and Cleaning Requested are a nice touch. The towels were a bit scratchy but that is the only real negative. Hotel is located about 10 mins away from Sky Terminal so it is convenient for getting to and from the airport. They do not have an airport shuttle. Service was really good, hotel staff was able to fulfill all my requests promptly.

The hotel is modern, offering many amenities, it’s a short distance to many attractions. The bed is more comfortable than ours at home. We had an upper level floor with views of the skyline, very nice to have.

Great rooms, fantastic food. Small outside area. One of the best in Auckland under MIQ support. If travelling and returning home, you'll want to be sent here.

We stayed here as part of MIQ. We are a family of four. Two adults and two kids (2 year and 10 months). On arrival we were given two rooms and able to request a cot and highchair for the baby. The meals were delicious and plenty. They even asked if we would like anything especially made for the baby. We had one room with a bath and one room with a shower. We enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light and the kids were able to look outside all day. Rooms are on the smaller side but if i was staying for a holiday and not quarantine i would definitely be happy. The reception staff was fabulous. Everytime I rang with a request or question they were helpful and reacted quickly. We ordered a couple of countdown deliveries and they were brought up to our room within 5-10 mins of arriving at the reception area.

Stayed at Four Points a total of 3 nights during our trip to Auckland. Clean rooms, great location and amazing staff. We had just arrived after almost 30 hours of travel from the US, and were greeted by Harry, who was extremely helpful, friendly, and started taking care of us as soon as we drove up to the property. While we checked in, he took all the bags out of the rental car we had and parked it for us, then helped us carry it up to our rooms, which we appreciate so much given how exhausted we were. Only thing I would point out is that the rooms are on the smaller side, which makes sense for a hotel in the city. We were in a basic King room the first night, and received a Bonvoy Elite Member upgrade to a Premium King the other two nights.

Was able to check in early after a long overnight international flight, which was amazing. Check in was painless and the concierge gave us a great recommendation for a local cafe for breakfast. The room was clean except for some stains on the towels (which did appear freshly laundered, just perhaps in need of retirement). The view was wonderful. The room is teeny-tiny: with a king sized bed there's a small walkway around the bed, a tall wardrobe, desk and mini fridge tucked into a small alcove, and the bathroom was the most compact "full" bathroom I think I've ever seen. But the bed was luscious with an incredible pillow-top that was soft and supportive. I cannot stand firm beds and need a mattress that will let my chronically injured hips and shoulders sink properly so that they don't have a lot of pressure on them. This bed was heavenly, truly the best hotel bed I've ever slept on. 10 stars for the bed. We did find ourselves accidentally pushing the bed several feet by leaning on it as it was on wheels (twins pushed together) and didn't seem to be locked in place. In all I would rate the room as 4.5 stars but rounding up to 5. Very conveniently located just off Queens which is lined with restaurants, bars, and shopping. Quick walk to Sky Tower, the wharf/ferries, and more.

Great Marriott property in a central location for exploring the city with friendly & prompt service. We stayed one night upon arrival to Auckland before flying to the South Island for the majority of our trip. Got upgraded to a larger corner room — everything was modern and new. Breakfast for 2 was included —very good with omelettes made to order & a varied buffet. Solid business hotel, perfect for our needs.

Great hotel with friendly staff. The room was clean except for a few carpet stains. The staff were professional and friendly, who made us feel special. The restaurant was great and so was the breakfast spread with hot and cold items. We didn’t see the Churchill but hopefully next time. Our room view was beautiful and we wished we stayed another night!

Great hotel with large rooms. The location is pretty central, but the walk to the harbourfront can take up to 20 minutes. So if you’re looking for something close to the harbour, I’d go further down Queen St. The service was amazing and the view well worth the price. Large bathrooms in the rooms are always appreciated! Also, there is a rooftop bar that I highly recommend trying if you’re staying at the hotel.

Central location, fairly comfortable/modern, reasonable prices/points redemptions. Just a few small things which could be improved. The recommended parking is hard to find and they give a paper map but no address, so a driver needs a passenger or to look at the map rather than using voice GPS. During our stay room cleaning/towels missed two days in a row. The light switches in our room were weird and not intuitive at all, so it was hard to have reading light before going to sleep. Finally the lobby has a weird smell. Overall this is a solid hotel in a central location, but don’t expect to be too wowed.

So pleased with this wonderful hotel and the great service provided by such dedicated staff. Had an upper-floor room with a great view, modern furnishings, and washing machine (available in some but not all suites). Kitchenette was impressive. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Located nearby many excellent sightseeing destinations such as Sky City. Harbor is within walking distance. Hotel gym has everything that's needed for an excellent workout. Definitely recommend this hotel.

This was in the heart of the city, about 15-20 min walk to the wharf. However you will be entertained because of the many stores and restaurants around. We arrived at the hotel on a Friday around 1130p. We asked if they knew any restaurants that were open, and the front desk said the only one that was open was the restaurant in the premises. once I checked in my room, I just went on Uber eats and found a Thai restaurant that was able to deliver within 15 to 20 minutes. The next day when we walked around I saw that Thai restaurant around the corner. We literally could have walked over to pick up the food. We were given a room on the 14th floor with a view of the sky tower, which was so pretty at night. On our last morning, we were awaken by the fire alarm which directed us to evacuate the building. I literally thought I was having a bad dream. Everything was well, we ended up retiring to our room within an hour. The complimentary breakfast was great with scrambled eggs, chicken sausages, beans and porridge. There is a small salad bar with cheese and sandwich meat.

Sanctuary in the city! The corner room has floor to ceiling windows on both sides, with a luxury loft apartment vibe. The view is just as spectacular from the bathroom, with a stand alone bathtub complete with adjustable shutters for privacy. Very quiet, with a comfortable bed. What sets this gem of a hotel apart from other hotels in the area is the impeccable, professional and friendly staff.

Great service by all of those working while we were there - shout out Ethan at the front desk. They read our mind anytime we needed anything, no matter how busy. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would recommend staying here to folks visiting Auckland.

The check-in process is smooth and you can have a cup of iced pineapple tea when you are waiting for the check-in process. The room is well-stocked and the lighting is sufficient. Also, you would have enough power socket for charging your electronics. The walk to the Main Streets of Auckland only takes around 5-7 minutes, which is quite good.

Thank you so very much Kate for your sunny smile and kindness. We had an unintended visit to this hotel under unfortunate circumstances but after interaction with Kate turned our bad experience to a rosy experience. Kate is an asset to your Team. Kate is very knowledgeable about the hotel menu and knows how to get repeat customers. Thank you for dinner reservations and excellent dining recommendations. We will be back and tell others about the fun experience. Thanks 4 Points Team for a good night’s stay, job well done.

EXCEPTIONAL PROPERTY. I feel like the folks at this hotel exemplify the very qualities inherent of Auckland, warmth, courtesy, and respect. What a treat to stay at this magnificent property. The customer service exceptionality exhibited by all staff here makes this property shine!

I couldn’t fault this venue. The staff were fabulous from checking in to the bar and , restaurant service. I was there on business and utilised the convention room, restaurant, bar and accommodations. The food was great! Concierge. Valet parking was excellent. Room and views, top notch.Thank-you to your amazing team.

The basic rooms are on the smaller side (if you're coming with lots of suitcases, it gets cramped) but the service was truly great - we got lucky and the staff let us check in super early after our flight which we super appreciated, and check out a bit late the next day. Everyone there was very friendly and accommodating, especially Harry! Thank you for a great stay!

I stayed here with a friend and we really enjoyed it! The room is small, but comfortable, we had an issue with the aircon, but night staff was accomodating and sorted our issue really quick. We first went to the rooftop, but it was so loud and busy, we ended up going to the restaurant downstairs and as it was empty, we didnt have a lot of expectations, but the staff was so nice, Sarai and the manager, didnt get his name but he's an indian man, both was so nice and friendly, really helpful with the menu and really attentive. The food... the food was amazing, the korean chicken was a really nice entree, not too spicy or salty. We ordered the lamb and salmon and it was so tasty, the crispy salmon skin was such a smart idea and makes the presentation nice. The lamb was delicious and the jus that comes with it was amazing! Really good portion as well. Creme brulee was good, but i think it was overwhipped, not sure, it felt like it was split during the cooking process because it wasnt smooth, but still good flavours and the biscuit was a nice balance. Their breakfast selection is nice, but we opted for the a la carte menu instead. The french toast was good and the bread they use for it was thick so it wasnt soggy and had a nice texfure. Overall, would come back to stay or even to go to the restaurant only. Highly recommended.

I am staying here for 10days quarantine and I am really shocked. The room is small The food is probably the most shocking part Small portions and very low quality. We got dinner with one piece of countdown style chicken and slept hungry. The only good thing is the friendly staff. Also I wish they gave us toothpaste.

VISIT: end of February 2020 Overall, we had a very pleasant stay here with the fantastic and comfortable rooms! STAFF: We asked for help from the front staff several times and they were always courteous along with the waitstaff at the restaurant ROOMS: updated rooms in a quaint setting. I attached a photo of the shower floor which was an interesting design, but kept leaking out of the shower onto the bathroom floor, so that was a bit of a mess. The beds were insanely comfortable with plenty of outlets in the room BREAKFAST: Unfortunately, we had early morning tours the entire time we were here and the restaurant wasn't open at this time, and nothing nearby was open. However, when you call the concierge we had our breakfast boxes ready by the time we went downstairs and they included a HUGE amount of food: water bottle, pastry, 2 whole fruits, container of yogurt with fruit and a sandwich! RESTAURANT (Queen's Head Bar & Eatery): We frequented the restaurant regularly and was perfect as we got back from our tours late, so it was nice to have this as a viable and yummy option to have and relatively well priced, considering what we ordered. I actually hate eating at hotel restaurants because of the prices, but this was decent and convenient ROOFTOP BAR (The Churchill): get there early for these fantastic views! Seating is very limited and we awkwardly stood and waited for a spot to open up anywhere. The outdoor seating is very limited, so I would suggest getting there early! Drinks were fantastic and I love the decor of the bar and the bartenders attire (see my review for them) LOCATION: was a good walk (not light) to the city center. It is in a more deserted part of town however, so our morning tour pickups were just a bit haunting at times. Not necessarily unsafe, but just a typical city in the early morning with no light

Descent stay. The check in staff were friendly and very helpful. Already know you are coming and pre checking before your arrival. Once you arrive, just get your room key and have a good rest. The room size quite small but the toilet big enough. The bed was super comfy for a good night sleep but unfortunately the sound proofing could be improved as you could hear the sound of traffic passing by. Toilet are very clean and quite spacious. Amenities and toiletries are complete and meet your expectations. Would have given five star if halal menu being include in the restaurant menu list. Overall, good rest

Visited right after COVID reopening; service is excellent and property is very centrally located. Rooms were in great condition even post the two year break — they did a good job of maintenance while closed. Would stay again whenever in Auckland

Stayed for about a week on a work trip. Sid and the front desk team where fantastic to deal with and nothing was an issue that was requested. Restaurant staff are amazing and the chef makes a delicious omelette! Will be putting myself here for Auckland trips.

Hi, I wanted to leave a review because I stayed at this hotel and had the best service at The Churchill, the rooftop bar at the Four Point Hotel Bar. The manager on duty, Lisa, was so accommodating and so kind! She made sure to check in with us to see how our service was and was so personable. She truly showed that she cared about her customers and how they were doing and making sure they got the best service. Our bartender, Campbell, was exceptional; he constantly checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our time and our delicious cocktails. He was very kind and one of the best bartenders we have ever had! Very pleased with the service we received and would highly recommend this place to anyone! The bar is on the 20th floor and is worth the wait, it has a beautiful atmosphere/view. We will definitely return! Lisa and Campbell definitely made the experience so much better! Thank you!

I am not a man of the world or try to be. My wife and I were looking for a last minute hotel to spend our 17th wedding anniversary, and came upon this place. This has been truly first class service, from the phone call booking to meeting us at the hotel entrance. From check-in to our room and so far everything in between

I have often opted for the Four Points in various places (BNE, SYD - before it became the Grand Hyatt). Compact but always a good sized bed and spotless bathrooms. Auckland’s offering didn’t disappoint 👌🏻

  • 4/5 Judith L. 1 year ago on Google
Picked Four Points by Sheraton for NYE and NY holiday, mainly for its view overlooking the Sky Tower. The room size is relatively small but for that view, I have nothing to complain about. However the windows were quite dirty and in fact you can't take a clear picture of the view through those windows. It is located a little outside the centre centre of Auckland meaning it is quiet and won't affect by the parties going on in the centre. A nice 15 to 20 mins walk to the habourfront. Very friendly staff and smooth check in and check out. They did well, always a smile on their faces and dealing with customers with patient during the holiday peak seasons. Plenty of food around the hotel area. Civic car park with reasonable fee right next to the hotel (they only have limited space at hotel).

We were upgraded to a room with two Queen beds. It was a nicely decorated room. Very effective black out curtains. The bathroom was spacious. I prefer a bathtub over a shower, but this room only had a shower. Apparently very few of their rooms have a bathtub. I booked it on the Marriott website, and you couldn’t really tell what type of room you were booking. The website didn’t specify whether there was a tub in the room. You have to ask for housekeeping by either calling or stopping by the front desk. Once we figured that out it was fine. The rooftop bar, Churchill’s, is popular. In order to get in you have to go early in the evening (like 4:30 or 5) or late in the evening, like after 10. The view is nice from up there and the service was excellent. People in Auckland are very friendly and several people took time to talk with me while I was up there. The lobby bar is the option for days/times when Churchill is closed. The service is excellent. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but saw several guests eating there. The hotel is in a good location for walking and exploring the area. There is a nice French restaurant nearby, and an ATM within a couple of blocks on Queens street. Ubers are cheap and arrive within 3 minutes. We used Uber to visit other parts of the city, like the Queens Wharf area. I would stay in this hotel again.

Nice hotel in Central Auckland, probably good for a short (1-2 night) stay but not recommended for longer. We stayed for 10 nights in March 2023. My husband and I arrived in the early hours of the morning and were greeted by a friendly member of staff who checked us in and brought our luggage to our room. Rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and decent showers. However housekeeping within the hotel is spotty at best. We had housekeeping attempt to enter our room on occasions when the "do not disturb" setting was activated, and not service our room at all even when the "please clean room" setting was showing. Additionally we were consistently left with only one bath/shower towel despite there being two people on the room booking and two people clearly staying in the room. Breakfast is also very expensive, and unless included in your room cost I recommend seeking breakfast elsewhere. There are plenty of excellent options within walking distance of the hotel that are a fraction of the cost. WiFi connection is also inconsistent and I found that it frequently cuts out and I have had trouble reconnecting. This was observed by myself and my husband across all of our devices and was the source of much frustration throughout our stay. It appears that this hotel is best suited to solo travellers on short stays. I do not recommend if in a group of 2 or more people, or staying for longer than a weekend.

Lovely hotel! Very clean. Easy spots for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Beautiful rooftop bar. Functional gym. And they let me check in at 7AM which was so, so kind of them! That deserves all the stars in my opinion. My only negative is for some reason the windows have a blue tint?! It made my room feel gloomy my entire visit! I couldn’t tell if it was sunny or grey sky out, which was kind of weird. I’d also say I would’ve rather picked a hotel closer to the wharf. That’s just a personal preference maybe, but I felt like this area had more fast food chains/etc than restaurants? Not that it’s a long walk - 15 minutes maybe. But on rainy days I wish I was next door to more options. That’s just a personal preference and doesn’t reflect on anything the hotel can do! It is close to the art gallery and a comedy club etc, and shops etc. Would absolutely recommend it for sure! Guaranteed good customer service and friendly faces which makes it a great place to pick.

All the staff here were extremely pleasant. Shankar was understanding of our situation and checked us in early. Rooms are renovated and comfortable. Had a great stay here will definitely come back! Rooftop lounge was definitely and experience! Only small downside was parking, however parking is available at civic and is a short walk.
