The room was average for a three star hotel, however a certain incident was far below average. I left my room at 7.30am and returned at about 7.30pm. On my return, I noticed that my towels had been replaced, and someone had left a pair of soiled underpants on my bathroom floor. They were not my underpants, and no one else was sharing my room. When I told the front desk about it, they first seemed to think that the undies where mine and I was unhappy they’re been left on the floor. Then they said they’d send someone up. After 5 or 10 minutes of waiting I had to leave so I went down to reception and tried again. Showing him a photo of the undies on the floor and making clear they were not mine. He still did not comprehend what the issue was, so I had to explain that the undies had been left there by hotel staff or someone with a key. He said he would ask his cleaning staff and get back to me the next day. He did not. I would not be rushing back here, the convenient location did not make up for the bonus pair of grey, diarrhea encrusted Bonds undies gifted to me by the hotel staff.

Never going back!!! We were overcharged, paid a ridiculous surcharge for paying with a visa debit which we were told we would get back (hasn’t happened) and were accused of not paying for a room when we paid for everything on checkout. Bathrooms are tiny, the “two bedroom rooms” is just one room with a bed in the living area. Have told all our friends and family to never go to this hotel. REPLY: I have come to edit my review in response to your reply. Which is full of lies! The card was never declined and the hotel did nothing to accommodate us after our stay when we complained multiple times about refunds not being given. Absolutely disgusting to try and lie in a response to save face. Cya

Stayed here for one night. 2 adults and 2 children. The staff were lovely and accomodating. We had a great view of the port and harbour in a 2 bedroom apartment. The walls and decor have definitely seen better days and the cleaning is questionable. The fridge only barely kept things cold. But for the price of under $200 for a 2 bedroom, self contained apartment this was a good deal. Definitely not 4 star but I don’t know what people actually expect for the price point. We had valet parking and while a bit expensive we did not have to muck around with parking and had no incidents.

We had a terrible experience staying here. Arrived after the allocated check in time and were forced to sit in the lobby, waiting for our room to be ready, for an hour, with constant promises of “only 10 more minutes” so we couldn’t leave and do anything in the meantime. When we finally got to our room, the turn around was clearly hurried with crumbs all over the floor and towels in random places. We overheard many other guests having similar issues with wait times and arriving to find their bedding missing or their rooms dirty. Even the process of checking out took 20 minutes. The hotel rooms in them self are old and tired. Our room didn’t have any additional blankets and insufficient window coverings. Only one of the many windows was actually black out. We were offered no compensation for our terrible experience and the staff did not seem at all apologetic. We will never stay here again.

TV is supposed to have Netflix but it doesn’t work. The unit has a microwave but no utensils/bowls to use with it. One of my curtains was removed the first day I was there, supposedly for washing, but wasn’t replaced. One of the lifts didn’t work. On the positive side, location is great and quiet and bed is comfortable. Entire hotel needs to be refurbished and the staff need to be more positive and welcoming.

Do not stay at this hotel! We checked in after a long early drive I went to lie down and noticed blood on the top blanket so thought I’d pull the blankets down to find pubic hair and makeup smeared on the sheets. I called reception immediately and waited for 20 mins went downstairs and checked out and got a refund. The reception staff were great but management accused us of using the bed! Absolutely disgusting behaviour! As I see in other reviews this is a dirty hotel enter at own risk! Luckily we managed to book another hotel that was clean and comfy

Zero star if I can. 4 nights booking for this s***hole hotel, they’re like scam. Nothing from the advertisement is real. The most terrible thing was their fire alarm went on continuously from 3AM until the next early morning which was torturing you, esp in their small room. We insisted to check-out in the morning with fully refund from them (we couldn’t sleep at all the whole night AT THE HOTEL). They said they needed the manager to approve the refund and a week after come back with an apology email and $50 :)))))) it’s ridiculous.

My husband daughter (1) and I stayed here recently. The service was absolutely terrible. The room was so run down with paint peeling and mould on the curtains and in the bathroom. The rooms are not sound proof or even sound resistant so we're woken up with the people above us around 1-3.30am. The pillows and bed were so uncomfortable! I've stayed at backpackers with a more comfortable bed! We paid for a 'luxe' suite and the couch they provided wasn't even a proper couch and was very hard and uncomfortable! Couldn't relax at all! The door that shut the bedroom out to the 'lounge' didn't close and had about a 10-15cm gap at the top. I can't get over how bad our stay was. Will never stay here again! This is advertised as a 4.5 star hotel.... I wouldn't even rate it a 2!!!

I bought a grabone voucher and then was a bit nervous after seeing some of the recent reviews. We had a fast, friendly check in, a comfortable bed (with clean sheets), quiet room and a decent breakfast included. Didn't see any cockroaches or bed bugs. The shower could have done with a spray or exit mould and the curtain had a stain on it but otherwise the unit was clean, tidy and well stocked. Was pleasantly surprised and would stay again.

Me and my partner checked into the room in the afternoon after being told we could not opt for an early check-in (should have known then, that this hotel was going to be a pain). When we did get to our room, it was run down and felt dirty from the moment we walked in. We went to look at the view and there was broken glass on the balcony. We went to have a nap and found a hair tie in the bedding and blood stained sheets. When we told reception about what we found and how dirty the room was they quickly changed our room with no apology to another dirty room, the manager called us on the room phone and said “I have apologised and moved you into a new room, I can not do anything else for you” which is the bare minimum. After some back and forth the manager finally said “you can have a full refund and check out if you don’t like it here”. Me and my partner decided to get out of that hotel and luckily found the beautiful Ramada Suites By Wyndham Victoria Street West. Don’t waste your money or time at the quadrant, very unpleasant, disappointing and has a lack of hospitable staff.

Had a room that had a nice view... but the heat pump looked like it came from a smokers house. Plus, the heater was cold, and the cold was cold with partly damaged... couldn't sleep much due to the noise of the elevator. I enjoyed the stay though

The food is not great, if staying here I would recommend venturing out, it’s only a short walk to lots of different places to eat. I found the dinner to be poor in quality, like freezer food. The breakfast is without doubt over priced. The “restaurant” is really just some tables in a corridor with some privacy screens sheltering it. The “garden” you over look from the hot tub is basically just gravel from what I saw. The TV didn’t work The staff at check in just spoke to each other the whole time. Room was clean and presentable, it was quite and I did enjoy the room. Had a heat pump.

The staff were unfriendly and dismissive when we told them about the black mould plastered along the bathroom wall. The shower floor looked more like a campsite than a hotel. They asked us if we wanted to change rooms, no apology offered. In their defence the new room did have less mould in the bathroom but we were down graded from king beds to queen and the dishwasher didn’t appear to work. The windows were also covered in a sticky substance and really needed a clean. The lifts up to the rooms didn’t work and there was a long wait for them to return to pick us up. At check out we weren’t even asked how our stay was and was only prompted to pay parking. This experience is vastly different from when we stayed over 6 years ago. Would not recommend.

Very strategic location! Came to Auckland for meetings and this hotel is close to the venue as well as CBD and university of Auckland. It’s walking distance to the CBD and surrounding areas. The room we got is not that big but it has balcony, kitchenette, small dining table and washing machine. The view from our room is nice. The bed is comfy, enough good, fluffy pillows. The kitchen is well equipped, with cooking utensils and dinnerwares. Bathroom and toilet is small, though. A bit stuffy for me. The bottle of lotion provided in the room is almost empty as well. But all in all, with the value it offers, I might go back here again

This is one of those hotels that are really good, have lovely staff and facilities, like a small restaurant, spa, and more. We got a free upgrade and the price was affordable. The reason its a 4 star is because of 2 reasons really. The elevator is quite noisy and you hear it at night.. but the main reason is the valet service on car parking.. it is just inconvenient, you need to call reception 10-15 minutes before you want to leave so they can go fetch your car.. i know it’s a service, but it takes spontaneous decisions to drive or go places hard to do.

This was horrible, if you want to have a good time in Auckland do not stay here, the service is slow and rude, the rooms are extremely small for the price you pay, the gym is in an unusable state, the wifi is absurdly horrible infact it is so bad i cant load youtube, the toilet smells like a public toilet, the shower door constantly breaks. With all of these things wrong, the pernight price is way too high. I would have payed half of what i did if i knew it was this bad. Do not go here.

Staff are good and location fine. But don’t stay here. Issues were: previous clients clothes left in room, shower doesn’t drain so have to have a quick shower, shampoo ran out but wasn’t topped up, lights in kitchen didn’t work so left a note for cleaning staff but still no lights after a week. Building has 3 lifts but there was never a day that 3 worked. Some days there were 2 and the last day just 1. Not good for a 23 storey building. Worst was on the Saturday when after room service my YSL aftershave disappeared from the bathroom. Left a complaint at reception. Complained again at checkout but was shrugged off. Awefull. Great place to stay right in the heart of Auckland city no need to use your car as you can walk 5 mins down the road and have everything you need. Finding the place is easy and very close to the motorway. Valet parking is available which does cost but is a great service they provide. Nice private balcony most rooms have a view. Shower is good beds are good. Highly recommend for the price.

Second time staying at the Quadrant this year, very centralised and good value for money. Terrible service. Left my airpods in the room tried to get in contact (called multiple times no answer and emailed with no response), while they were still at the hotel. Couldn’t get in contact with anyone. After trying to get in touch for a whole week got through on the chat option on the website, rude response and not helpful. Absolutely gutted as now they are showing that they were last in a residential area in Auckland. They were online in the hotel two hours after we checked out, and an absolute shame that I was unable to contact the front desk (or anyone) while they were still there. Would have definitely stayed there again if the service was at a reasonable standard however couldn’t get in contact with anyone at the hotel (tried both numbers multiple times and the email on the website). For this reason I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Zero sleep. Hotel doesn’t not act on loud parties in their hotel. Keeps happening and not getting resolved. Complex a mix of residents and hotel guests but they need to take responsibly at 2am and shut things down in their rooms.

Lovely and quiet place. No road noise which is amazing for Auckland city. Walking distance to lots of restaurants, supermarket and viaduct. Only negatives, late check in for us, we got there at 3pm but had to wait in the lobby for over an hour for the room to be ready, wed alreadyhad a huge day and so looking forward to relaxing . We had our vehicle locked away and we asked for it to be bought up for an early morning appointment before a competition for my daughter , but the worker on that morning couldn't drive so unable to get it out. Expensive Taxi to appointment but motel gave us a discount when we told them, which was good. I was surprised there was no room service over 2 nights, normally rooms would be tidied up,, dirty towels taken away, top up of a few things like coffee etc. I may have missed some information there maybe? Staff were very nice.

Great value without a doubt. Gotta love the bathroom tiling however. Was the tiler drunk? Got to love that silicone and grout. Wow just wow. Patio sucks, just get 2 x chairs out there. Sweet view though. Need to replace shower mixer, basin mixer and kitchen mixer. Cartridges buggered. Ring main running at 80 degrees atleast. Temp valve must be buggered. If a kid gets in the shower they're going to burn themselves. Get your plumber round to sort asap. Otherwise good location suited us well. Thank you.

Cancelled my booking with less than a week's notice, claiming to be overbooked, even though I had booked over 4 months in advance. Supposedly Quadrant transferred my booking to another hotel, but that other hotel had no record of it! I'm glad I followed up, otherwise I wouldn't have had any accommodation. Also interesting that the same hotel miraculously improved its availability after they cancelled my booking, and then inflated the prices of the remaining rooms.

Mold in the rooms, wasn’t cleaned well (lots of stains), and felt like the furniture hasn’t been updated since opening. Heard some man yelling and having an argument in the halls. Made it feel unsafe.

First impression of our rooms, they were not clean. Crumbs all over the floors, bathrooms dirty. Our bedding and towels all had stains (blood) and whatever else. We found hair in our sheets which made us unsure if bedding had be changed. We stayed on the 20th floor and none of the sliding doors on to the balcony locked! (Front desk was contacted several times for several different issues with no resolution) Almost everything in the room was broken or had significant wear and tear. And breakfast was average we had to eat elsewhere, definitely not worth what you pay. Won't be staying here again.

  • 4/5 Amie 8 months ago on Google
Room was a little awkward. The USB/powerpoints in the lamps on both side tables didn’t work so we had to plug our chargers through the back of the bed to reach the powerpoints. The shower door didn’t open all the way because of the basic placement. One of the drains smelt off and the suds from the shower would come up through it. The hotel is at the top of a hill where everything is at the bottom of the hill so if walking be aware it is a tough walk on the way back.

We had a fantastic stay at The Quadrant Hotel and Suites. We'd booked in for two nights at an already great rate and were delighted to learn they had upgraded us to an executive two bedroom apartment on one of the highest floors. The suite was really big for a hotel, taking in a living area, two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. We had awesome views over the city and the water. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed, including a combined washer and dryer. The location is great, with Albert Park, Auckland University and the CBD a short stroll away. I made good use of the little gym during the time we were there, alternating between the treadmill and hybrid bike / eliptical machine. It also has a little sauna and spa pool open to guests. Staff were friendly and helpful, and it is easy to catch an Uber or taxi from the driveway out front. We will stay there again.

Pretty average. Bit of a stretch calling themselves 4 star. Ok for a night. Hotel requested further information. Main issues AC wall unit in room was not working due to the filters being completely blocked. These should be cleaned every 3 months. Layer of dust on headboard under the AC unit. Bedside lamps had easily accessible 230V parts on the socket outlets, which is dangerous. Despite the restaurant having a very limited wine menu, they had neither the Pinot gris nor Chardonnay. Bar couldn't make a cocktail as no one knew how. Hot breakfast was very average, yet the dinner was very good.

The place was good to stay and reasonably priced. However the washer/drier didn’t dry, it actually ruined a few pieces of my clothing, there aren’t many pieces of cutlery or plates etc. The wifi is terrible and cuts in and out every now and again. The staff are nice and the room is decent for what you pay for. Would’ve been 4-5 stars if not for the drier ruining my clothes and the wifi worked consistently.

  • 1/5 Claire A. 6 months ago on Google
The living room was dirty, sticky mark on the table and needed a vacuum as carpet was dirty. The dishwasher had water in the top & bottom drawers so clearly hadn’t been checked after last use and on cleaning. Not enough glasses for 4 people and needs more effort with kitchen equipment. No extra bedding in the wardrobes and we were all cold. Asked for more twice and they gave us towels! When they eventually understood they gave us one blanket! Tiles in bathroom were cracked and the bathroom needs a bigger sink area for a family unit. Heat pump was SO loud you couldn’t hear the tv if it was on, the outdoor unit was so loud and old. The tv was rubbish, couldn’t use any paid movies and channels were average. Clothes dryer was as noisy as the heat pump and didn’t dry clothes, hardly any point having a laundry. Couches were lumpy and uncomfortable and had staples coming out of them. The whole place smelt and really needs an update/refresh. They are doing one lift at the moment but seriously they need to do the whole hotel. Staff were unable to understand English and the prices were ridiculous! They ambush you with what they termed “fluctuation pricing” dependent on what is on in the city that night, we stayed two nights and the Monday was significantly higher- hardly much on that night and pricing nothing like the from $210/ night they advertise- we paid $490 for one night. Such a rip off, I would expect to pay that price for nice accommodation but not for the lack of services and state of the hotel. Would not recommend nor ever stay at again. Only advantage was location for us, happy to get away from hotel and enjoy the city! Wow- I get a reply 2 weeks later from The Quadrant and it’s illiterate and deliberately failed to address the comments around the room standards and have chosen to defend their pricing comparing themselves to air nz? My review seems very consistent with many others. Appalling response which is not a surprise. You definitely need to seek advice on how to respond to customers.

Stayed with some friends in one of the 2 bedroom premiere apartments on the top floor. The location is excellent, valet parking available for $35 per day if needed. We had an amazing view over the city and harbour. The apartment was very spacious with a lounge area, dining table, large bathroom with large shower cubicle and a washing machine and dryer, kitchen with full sized fridge, microwave, oven, hob, kettle and toaster. Comfortable beds. But - the apartment was very tired looking and looked like it was well overdue for a refurb. The majority of the kitchen cupboards were nailed shut, very basic and low quality utensils, pots etc so whilst there was ample space for cooking, the utensils would not have made it easy. The shower door was partially off the tracks and the apartment needed a thorough deep clean; a build up of fluff on the walls around the dryer and hairbrush left under one of the beds. But the worst thing was the kitchen dishwash brush had lots of long hair entwined in the bristles 🤢 had to throw it out. Also no kitchen cloth provided, had to use a face cloth from the bathroom. We were advised one of the king beds could be separated into 2 singles and had this confirmed in writing, but on arrival this was not done. But without too much trouble 2 staff promptly arrived and set up a single bed in the lounge which worked well for us. Having said that we would stay again because it is well priced and the location is excellent, just don't expect actual 4 star accommodation, as it stand the Quadrant Hotel and Suites is more 3 star.

It's sad because Covid had clearly affected this hotel. No restaurant or bar, tired looking and today a note on the door to say that there is no longer sky TV. It looks like it has been abandoned apart from skeleton staff. On the ground floor of the hotel there are weeds outside the apartments and old mattresses and beer cans that can be viewed from your room. Not a hotel at all! Feel sorry for them but the advertising needs to be more realistic.

Stay away! This place makes some motels look like a luxury hotel. The room and the bathroom are very small and not up to 4-star hotel standards. An average size person can barely move around in the bathroom. This hotel desperately needs renovation. The “dining room” furniture is chipped. Walls have dirt on them. The fabric on the dining chairs is ripped in some places. The carpet is old and smelly. The entire room smells moldy.

  • 1/5 Moises B. 5 months ago on Google
Unfortunately I found bed bugs in my room, and the staff didn't do much about it. They just apologized and said they would spray the room. They didn't offer any sort of reimbursement or discount. Aside from that the bathrooms are super small, and the AC was not working properly (weird sounds and no temp control, it was super hot or super cold). Lastly the "king bed" was two small beds put together. Sadly I cannot recommend this place, and now I'm worried I brought bed bugs back to my house.

Quad bar/cafe/restaurant has closed, and lifts are undergoing repairs so wait time was a bit long. Otherwise, superb, no room service with covid so had to call to request any new sheets or anything but the room service lady was absolutely lady. Amazing location, had an issue where we were locked out of our room randomly but they sorted it really quick. Great team, honestly can’t wait to go back in 2ish years once everything is up and running like it’s obviously designed to be. Just a note to anyone heading there soon: don’t trust anything it says on the info guide on the TV, it is out of date.

Rooms were ok, a bit worn, but great shower, big TV and a comfortable bed. Couldn't hook up to the chromecast which was annoying but luckily we took a laptop. Had dinner in the bar, best burger ever!!! Nice staff. Great location, easy walk everywhere. Was rather annoyed about the valet parking. It was $35 per night. I had my car professionally cleaned before we went and when I got it back it was filthy, covered in some kind of tree/pollen debris over the entire thing. Also noticed white paint on the edge of my door like it had been opened on another vehicle. If I had of seen this before I left, I would have disputed paying for the parking. Only disappointing part of the whole thing.

Very welcoming on arrival. All the things well explained. Felt homely. Room is perfect with all the facilities we require for the 3 of us. Valet parking is a first so feeling like we are wealthy without paying a fortune.

19/04/2022. We stayed a few days and it was amazing. We had the car valet and the service was great, it felt cool having our car bought to the door when we needed to go out. Clean and tidy apartment and we'll presented. Very classy being on the 17th floor we could see over the harbor and out to the islands. The manager gave us a little history on the place and was really nice to speak with. Will definitely stay there again and recommend to family and friends. Thanks so much😊

We recently stayed here, we were put in a room right opposite the elevators and we had 2 young children with us. Unsure if any thought was put into where we were placed also we were put on the 20th floor with a balcony that children could easily climb over. Our doors that led to the balcony did not lock either. Breakfast was not worth $22 buffet selection was not the greatest and we had to eat elsewhere. Rooms were not the cleanest but were manageable along with broken taps shower doors toilet was very cramped, bedding was dirty also.

Good bits: awesome view, nice staff. Room was nice and dark and no annoying noises. Bad bits: very dirty / grubby, needs a thorough deep clean. Lacking some normal amenities like a desk. I had to get some Dettol wipes to clean all the surfaces, it was pretty gross.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was my birthday. Amazing customer service. Went out for dinner, had few drinks and lost our key to the room. The guy at the front desk were so nice. Asked no questions and gave us another key. No hassel. Loved our stay here. Thank you for all you did during our stay. Car valet, awesome👌👏

We booked 4 rooms for a one night stay. None of the rooms had towels and 2 of the rooms heat pumps weren’t working at all and it was freezing. The kitchen in one room had a sticky substance on all the surfaces and there wasn’t a cloth to clean with. $28 for the buffet breakfast was over priced. Be careful because their website is out of date, they don’t offer the A la carte menu or the continental buffet and the price for the buffet differs to what they actually charged. Location was good, shame about the tired rooms and customer service.

Pretty traumatic. I stayed in one of the service apartments, in general it just didn't feel clean, there was weird smell, the kitchenette joinery could have been fixed easily with a bit of effort, shower head broken, toilet not clean, curtains covered in stains and grease. Bed seemed alright, in overall it's not worth the price.

Ew nope wouldn't recommend staying here, we traveled to Auckland for the Ice cube concert and a friend had already booked here so 2 more groups of us also did. The room was disgusting stains on the blankets and pillows. Blood stains in the pillows 🤢. One of the other groups that booked had a infestation of cockroachs in their room! Rubbish still in rooms from previously. The cleansing were lovely and very apologetic but the Staff at the front desk were very unhelpful. The only real positive about this was the location of the hotel.

I had to cancel my booking and move to another hotel. The first room I had on the ground level floor was big but smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. There was a private balcony area which had used cigarettes littered all over the ground. They moved me to another took two floors up which was smaller and smelt marginally better but still smelt of cigarette smoke. The microwave also beeped periodically for no reason and I had to disconnect it. After feeling ill due to the smell of smoke I decided to cancel my booking and moved to another hotel.

In need of an update. Rooms are tired with painting and decor out of date. Marks and chips on walls etc Bed was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was satisfactory, felt like it was cut back from our usual standard. Staff were under the pump during service- understaffed! Sauna not working. Spa temperature set low and water a little dirty. We wouldn’t go again because we live in Auckland and expect a real treat when we have a night out- we thought Quadrant was rated 4 stars.

Tight size rooms and depending floor number can give you a nice view of city. Good walking distance from downtown and waterfront which makes this ideal. Car parking painful experience. Give yourself plenty of time for them to get your car ready for pickup.

Room facilities are old and gross. Door frames were mouldy. Bed sheet, and couch had blood stains. Balcony was infested with weeds and rubbish. It was disgusting. I paid nearly $200 for a night and it felt like it was not up to any standard let alone a $200 standard.

I’ve stayed in three hotels in Auckland on this trip and this is the only hotel that was quiet during the night. Great having a washing machine in the room too. Staff are really nice, though the continental breakfast is not great.

The best thing about this place is the location which is great. Other than that it’s very basic. Room felt like it needed a deep clean. The decor is tired with tatty/frayed carpet, curtains and furniture. The second bedroom is not really a room but a corner of a room with sliding dividers. The Lounge area is very small with insufficient room for four people to properly sit. If you are not fussy this might be ok as it’s cheapish for the location. But you get what you pay for I.e not much. I wouldn’t stay again as it felt quite grubby.

Good location, not too many hills. Room needs some work. The dishwasher didn't work and nobody could fix it. The washer/ dryer stopped drying and they said they would send someone to look at it, still waiting. I had to find my own red wine because the barman thought it was in the fridge. The barman rang his mate to help find the white wine.

I stayed here for roughly 1 week, was only meant to be 3 days but found myself extending my stay as I enjoyed the room and service. Great location and staff were amazing to deal with, very easy and efficient. Highly recommend and will certainly return.

Had a great stay. The staff were friendly and attentive. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Good size bathroom great to be able to adjust shower pressure. Shower was a tight fit for a larger person. Food was nice. It would have been nice to have a dish cloth to wipe the table down. All in all I would stay again.
