Countdown Newmarket is my favourite. Over the Easter weekend I was served by RENEE at checkout and had a delightful experience although the store was very busy Renee was extremely helpful. Staff like Renee are huge assets to the store and make the shopping experience unforgettable.

Located inside Westfield Newmarket, it’s mostly crowded because of its location. Neat and tidy, has plenty of stock, but I think not enough counters to process payments, there’s usually a wait time if you are there during the peak hours.

This would have to be my favourite Countdown to shop at. It’s really easy to access through the level 3 carpark, it’s always well stocked, and it’s never overcrowded or has long queues at the checkout. 10 points to Gryffindor! Hamish Dorrington Kakapo Business Sales

The workers are really nice but unfortunately is not a tidy supermarket and quite often I saw products moulding on their shelves like the one in this photo.

if your staffs even managers have no know idea about promotion plz learn and read instead of cooling tell your customer you have no idea! Otherwise, do not do promotion and do not email people to come to purchase. First time to suffer when you want to redeem promoting stuff in not tooo busy environment, a staff had no idea to cancel your whole basket. Interesting

Great supermarket with good prices and a variety of groceries. Not much crowded, it has self checkout counters. Produce is fresh and meat prices are competitive

It is becoming common for the prices displayed on the shelves to be different at the time of payment. If you don't pay attention, they are charging you extra each time. Hope they can pay more attention when changing the prices on a weekly basis.

Very rude deli staff. Repeatedly pretended to not be able to hear us or understand simple sentences like “100grams of the regular shaved ham please”. Then also tried to charge us for a more expensive version and made it out like it was a big deal when we asked for it to be corrected.

This must be the worst countdown in town. Many items not in stock. Bought cheese many times and was rotten and had to take it back. Staff are friendly but the store has to do better Parking is good and many parking spaces

This branch has an special aisle for no sugar chocolates! I totally loved it

Another amazing countdown supermarket. Big enough and plenty of options to buy groceries and household stuff. The vegetables were so fresh and healthy. Open till 10 pm though the mall closes at 7 pm.

One of the best shopping center in Auckland. Right in the fringe of the city with plenty of parking. If you download the W+ app and register, you will have two hours free parking.

As someone with a strict gluten-free diet I would want to rely on the gluten-free area to be stocked and stocked correctly however it's just never the case here. The shelves are almost always empty with gluten products being displayed under gluten free signs filling up space where gluten-free products should be but are never found. This can be harmful and just plainly insensitive towards people with coeliac disease.

Convenient and laid out well but I’ve had real issues with the quality of the fruit. It feels like the New World at Ormiston town centre, a bit confused if it’s a super market or a small superette.

A cool Countdown. It's smart, well laid out and well-stocked. If you're a member of the mall, parking is free for a couple of hours so you can do other bits and bobs while there

Not so convenient location at the end of the mall. If you parked wrong side, it takes long walk with grocery bags back to car. Choice could be wider and better. Good service though

Staff were understanding of the fact the mall wifi was not allowing me to access my banking app to transfer money over but were still rude at the same time except to our infant we had in tow. Clean fully stocked store however.

I could feel some clerks would be a bit rude and impolite, but why??? prejudice??? And your good supermarket were also not fully stocked, why??? It was definitely not good in my shopping experience.

Has good niche product range, especially around their loose and bulk food section. TVP and nutritional yeast is here, as well as lentil and nut selections.

I arrived back in Auckland from a 4.25am bus ride from Hamilton. Decided to stop by countdown around 7.30am Newmarket for a quick breakfast and a break from the long trip and the countdown cleaner kept chasing me away from the tables infront of countdown. She asked me to move at first and I did with no complaint. I sat at another table further away but still infront of countdown, then she told me I shouldn't sit infront of countdown cos she is cleaning. Very rude and rigid personality. Most cleaners in Westfield Newmarket are normally so lovely to talk to however this cleaner just wanted me completely away from the sitting area which was empty and very spacious. I was the only one there and paid for an item from countdown so why is it I cant eat infront of it?? No signage used to say out of order for cleaning. And most importantly why can't the cleaner do her job in the other areas??? There was so much space and she kept walking up to me. I had to leave and I didn't get to take a break or eat as I hoped for.

Awesome store, heaps of choice and options. It's a large supermarket so you will find what you need here

Sorry to be a Karen but to the guys that restock the shelves at 9pm on a Sunday, can you stop biffing food down the isles. Get it's not the best job but have some respect for produce.

Bit over crowded on a busy day. Best to come here when the kids have gone home. More of a pop in and pop out store. Apart from that pretty convenient if you need something last minute.

Overrun with teenagers from Auckland Grammar, Epsom Girls and Dio half the time. Not a great selection compared to other supermarkets. This countdown is one you go to for convenience.

Banks are open 7days a week very clean and maintenance is excellent Customer service staff is of mixed ethnic and polite Suggestions...Toilets needs to be more cleaned and adequate maintenance required All available under one roof

It is a Countdown, with multiple items but quite small. Well-signalized and good atmosphere for buying groceries. It can get quite crowded. Nothing out of the box, just a normal modern supermarket in NZ.

7pm on Wednesday night, November 2 2022 and this appalling branch of the disgusting duopoly is running true to form. While we try to avoid this outlet after a myraid of problems, including every discounted deli item scanning at full price (every time!), we arrive at this peak time to find only one checkout open. Five trolleys banked up and hapless shoppers doing all the work for them in self service area. This outlet and its owner that has been creaming it for years , is now cutting costs by restricting access to checkouts. My aim is to take a video camera in there and record some of the difficulties shoppers encounter there every day. If you leave your Club Card behind, for instance, too bad. With only one checkout open , you have to go through self service with no one to use the company card which is standard practice. Just Appalling. And there's a rising cost-of-living crisis.

My favourite Countdown, staff are always helpful and I prefer going later when it's quieter and I get parking on the right level and easy parking. Fruit & veg is always fresh likewise with everything else.

Everything you need! Great selection, price is OK and staff at check out are super nice! Loved the large shopping space and cleanliness of the store. A prestine shopping experience. Parking in Westfield can be fun lol, I live close enough that I walk.

I went to do my shopping here with cash, the time was 9:55pm when i was at counter. They wouldn't allow me to use cash the punks. They said card only, which is a load of rubbish if they are trying to close up early. Wasted my time driving here....I'm a regular here but I will never go here again. NEW WORLD NEWMARKET from now on.

Horrible customer service. Went in and asked 4 separate employees where I could find insect repellent. Flat out ignored by one, another one said countdown does not sell it? (Not true) The other two said they did not know what it is. Clueless employees who clearly haven’t been trained about their products. Frustrating and disappointing experience.

Strange location for a supermarket, should be on the ground floor not on upper levels. Prices are STILL extremely high at Countdown supermarkets so try to support Pak N Save whenever I can as they're the cheapest supermarkets in NZ

Monday night, 09/01/23.. barely items on many shelves.

Would like to thank Payal and wonderful staff who secured my shopping bag with clothing inside. I had left it behind yesterday whilst at the self checkout. Really appreciate that it was kept aside for me and was pleasantly surprised when I phoned back today and collected it. Many thanks!!

Inserted $2 in the machine and got $1 back and it still said I owe $2 then the worker came and argued. She said “no out machine doesn’t work like that you clearly didn’t put $2 in.” I only had 1 $2 and I’m confident that I put that in. I’m not upset about the money, just the worker and the poor service here. I’m never coming back here ever again, you just lost a regular customer.
