We chose Hyatt House since it was pretty close to the Domain. When we arrived front of hotel was easy to find. I asked for an upgrade but none were available. Check in time was 3pm. I checked in at 4pm. I was told to give them about 15 minutes to finish cleaning up our room. I waited the 15 minutes then proceeded to the room. Outside was a bit sketchy and dirty. Cigarette butts all over and sketchy people standing around. I got to my room and found the housekeepers still cleaning. I waited another 15 minutes standing in the hallway with my luggage. They were trying to rush. The overall smell of the entrance wasn't pleasant it smelled damp and swampy. Once we got into our room things started looking up! There was a nice little kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator. Room was clean. TV was on a rotating swivel so you can either watch TV in living room or bedroom. Not BOTH! Bed was comfy, plenty of pillows. Couch bed was horrible but most are. We had a horrible time with our key! Both cards didn't work to let us in the room. Finally we for working keys. We called front desk to ask for another blanket and she said she couldn't help us as she was the only one there and couldn't leave the desk. We had to walk down to the office to get another blanket ourselves. Location is pretty close to the Domain so location is great. Wheelchair accessible however when using the wheelchair ramp door make sure your keys work. Our newly working keys didn't let us into the wheelchair accessible door.

    — I’ve never felt I was somewhere so cheap as when we went down to breakfast to find they’re using ONLY PLASTIC cups, plates… brittle plastic cutlery, etc.🥤😰 Tragically Hyatt is still using corona as an excuse to continue doing something that is clearly more efficient for the hotel chain (no cleaning) yet damaging for the consumer and the planet⚠️ I’m stunned that Hyatt Corp. is producing this shameful amount of waste of single-use plastic every day. STOP ⛔️ — This hotel is built like a house of cards so you hear every booming step of the guests above you 👣🙄 (got very little sleep the entire stay). — Rooms still have old popcorn ceilings 🤢 Literally looks like a snowman’s rash. — To top it off we had huuuge cockroaches in our bathroom 🪳 (The hotel runs at full capacity so you cannot change rooms for love nor money, we had to swat and scoop them up ourselves). — The only ➕: Lindsey and the manager at the front desk were lovely, these issues are not their fault but come from above.

Far and wide, for years, have I been searching for a continental breakfast akin to the one I had in New York back in 2016. And for years, I was left disappointed at other places. But Hyatt House Austin/Arboretum was different. They served up a beautiful breakfast consisting of potatoes, pancakes, meat and eggs, as well as several other options too. Really made me feel at home. Rest of the hotel was professionally ran and had a friendly staff. Our room even came with a complimentary lizard friend! Definitely would want to stay here again if fate will allow it.

Highly recommended if you; 1) like paper-thin floor. You can feel vibration/noise whenever your upstair guest walks around. 2) don't need any assistance from front desk. I called them (for the noise issue) but never picked up my call. 3) love to live with little creatures. Cockroach will greet you! 4) want to collect suveniors. You may take a lot of hairs (from the previous guests) back if you want. Best spot is sofabed linen sheets. I love to stay hyatt but this is worst hyatt I've ever been to.

Booked online. No refund if cancelled after booking. No mention of deposit requirement at time of booking for one night. Holds deposit for 5 days. Should disclose this prior to booking. Otherwise, a nice stay in a comfortable room. I travel all over Texas and not all hotels require deposits or hold them for 5 days. Probably won't come back here because of this.

I was very surprised about my stay here due to the previous reviews. It was really nice, clean, spacious and had a lot more amenities than previous hotels I’ve been to, would definitely recommend and will be coming back. Me and my boyfriend were very impressed with the cleanliness. Breakfast was average but it’s just like any hotel but still good.

Five stars for the kindness and helpfulness of the women at the front desk, but I did not want to deceive others into staying here by putting five stars on the overall review… This place is dingy and not maintained. I checked in and promptly left the next morning. Every vent or return duct that I walked past had copious amounts of dust, and several of them, actual mold and mildew. The room itself looks like it had at least 10 different projects that were started and not finished to try and maintain the space. The final straw for me was the constant noise and people outside the room to the point that I felt uncomfortable and slept with several pieces of the furniture in the room pushed in front of the door because I did not feel safe or comfortable. At a different Hyatt property now and had an amazing night sleep, so please check out other options in the area if you can’t afford to/is an option.

This was a very disappointing experience in a Hyatt hotel. I never expected this kind of service. The room had many issues, one was the terrible noise of the A/C, also the room was not cleaned in a good way. The toilet had a very strange black stain, not sure what it was, so awful. The hotel looks so old and without the proper maintenance. My deeply recommendation is to do not go there. In fact, I put a hard complain as soon as I saw the terrible room, and they took a complete day until to move me and my wife to another room, bigger, but the damage was done. At the end, solutions could be taken prior the problem, mainly when you know your business weaknesses. So sad about this experience, considering during that trip we visited around 6 hotels, and the other 5 were so good.

Easily the best place we stayed on our two week trip. Extremely nice staff, clean very large room, great shower and bed. Only gave 4 stars because parking is horrendous. Pretty sure the spots are a little too short and every was parked crooked.

Hotel carpet was filthy, my daughter was wearing white socks and within 30m her socks were black. The rooms are not clean, we had one black outdoor bug on our bed (alive and crawling) and a dead cockroach on the floor near the bed. Our toilet then broke on day 2. They taped the inside of handle to have it flush again. Breakfast was decent, parking is horrible once you come back at night there is no parking available. It is close by to mopac and shopping. Overall, I do not recommend. I recommend Marriott for your stay.

The room was comfortable and felt like home. The kitchen had everything you could need except an oven. All the little things were taken care of including dish soap and a set of dishes.

Showed up at 11:35pm to a very rude staff that informed a single female they had overbooked & my room Still has not refunded my money but sent me into the streets of Austin at 1am to fend for myself… Luckily my Marriott agent worked over 2 hours to get me into a hotel (apparently there was no hotels in Austin that weekend due to an music event) but she did it! At 3am, after driving 4 hours to Austin, I was finally in a room. Worst Hotel Ever!

Rooms were good sized. Closet was the largest I've seen in a hotel. Part of the closet was blocked off for mechanical items, I assume, but it was a small walk-in so plenty of room. Breakfast was repetitive but well stocked. Cleaning, etc. Was nominal, which seems to be part for the course with covid and worker shortages.

Rooms were nice and clean. We received good customer service. My only gripe is that I thought they were back to cleaning the rooms every day. Would have been nice to know that but not a deal breaker for me. We enjoyed this hotel. Would definitely stay again.

As with other reviews., this hotel is notorious for overbooking.i checked in late at around 1 am as my flight lands late but was told that no rooms were available. But they had the audacity to charge my card in advance for the first day when they were well aware that rooms have been overbooked. Would not recommend!

Overall good stay, but check your card transactions towards the end of your stay, glad I did. I booked thru Priceline for 2 nights, so it was paid for. Incidentals were $100 on my CC, no issue with that. Then I see a mysterious pending charge of $80. During check out, asked the front desk what the charge was, and apparently they have old systems that likes to charge for another night. Asked the front desk, and was given a refund receipt of this charge, but told me it could take 5-7 days to show back up to me. What if I needed that money before that??? Hyatt House, time to update your systems!! Never staying here again!!!!

there was 3 of us that stayed in a room that had 2 full size beds & the room was very clean & spacious. the employees were very nice whether it was on the phone or in person. we only stayed one night, but our stay was great. i only gave it a 4 star, bc the only thing that was wrong w the room was that the a/c wasn’t the greatest & there wasn’t a lot of air flow, but it was doable. the parking was great & navigating around the hotel was easy. definitely recommend!
