Definitely worth a visit, you can drive up the mountain and park there easily.

Climb the stairs to enjoy views of Bamberg and Franconian Switzerland! Not a busy destination, worth climbing the tower (free entry but recommended 1 EUR fee) to see the panoramic views. Nice to chill and relax at the beer garden down below. Visited in July 2022.

Very nice castle and view

Die Altenburg und das ganze Areal sind immer einen Besuch wert. Es lässt sich beschaulich vom unteren Parkplatz herauf spazieren. Ansonsten gibt es direkt oben an der Burg noch Plätze. Der Garten ist im Sommer gut bewirtschaftet. Die Aussicht ist herrlich- auf Bamberg und bis in die Fränkische Schweiz.

Ein schöner Ort. Sehr gepflegt. Am besten mit einem Tourbus von Bamberg aus zu erreichen. Ein Besuch absolut empfehlenswert. Die Sicht über Bamberg ist Mega schön.

Beatiful old Castle in top of Bamberg. You can also going up the tower for just 1€. But be careful If you are a tall person. The View is unique!

This is a very nice castle. It's free to walk in and have a look around. The tower cost 1€ to go up but is well worth the climb. The view from the top is amazing. Went in winter, and the snow made it even better. In the summer, there are some very good hikes around the castle.

If you have at least a day to visit, it will be enough to enjoy this amazing place 🙌🏻
