The two-storied building on the north side of the mosque houses the office of the complex, the quarters of the khatib and muezzin, the orphanage and the Hafeji Madrasah. A graveyard has been constructed on a two and a half acre area at the east-south corner of the mosque. There are flower gardens all over the courtyard of the complex. For security, scenic lakes have been built on three sides of the complex. Apart from this, there is a barbed wire fence. Along with the power lines there are two high power generators of its own. The mosque looks more spectacular at night with the flashing of different colored lights. A pillar is built to the left of the entrance through the main gate. The pillar of the mosque is made of soil and Zamzam water from 21 holy places in the world. Visiting tourists are more emotional when they see the amazing pillar. Guthia Mosque has not any traditional or ancient history. It was built in 2003. Sharfuddin Ahmed Senut built the mosque. The cost of construction of this mosque is about 20 crore taka which was the solo donation of Sharfuddin Ahmed. I liked the place as this is the only mosque where I found people are visiting like traveller. Women with gorgeous dress up and make up moving around. Boys are playing cricket and other games in the mosque field. There is a restaurant available as well. It looks so full of life to me.

Structural view is really awesome. This sort of structure in a rural area is quite absent mostly. This is one of famous place to be visisted in Barisal. In local langulage it is named as Guitta mashjid but tourist mostly known this premise as Guthiya Mashjid. Prayed Jumma on 22nd July,22, a big premise but did not found any AC & also Imam was giving Jumma speech, sharing Hadith but not quoting Hadith reference no & origin. This should not be but still quite great place for day tour & pray at the mashhid.
