National Museum of Bangladesh has a great histrionic values. It has lot of collections of National and international heritage symbolic pieces. Authorities are so caring and alert all the time while visitors are entering into the Museum. Visitors need to follow the government as well as authorities rules and regulations. Maximum visitors break the rules of the Museum. They take photos of all the area which is prohibited. Museum spaces are very long, maximum visitors feel tired to see the heritages. In Every floor, there is place to take rest and drink fresh water. Toilets are available in every floor. Snacks foods are also available in the ground floor. Every visitors need to keep polite and maintain the authorities rules and not need to capture the photos inside the Museum.

The biggest Museum in Bangladesh which represents the art & culture of the country. It is located at Shahbag more near Dhaka University. It has a total of 3 floors there for the visitors. In every floor there are many historical monuments arranged in a large space. All the floors have a well arranged path from start to end. Taking photos and videos are prohibited inside the museum. The national museum remains open till 7 PM and the ticket price is 40/- per adults, 20/- per baby (up to 12) and 500/- for the foreigners. You have to put your bags in the locker outside the museum since they are not permitted inside. Don’t forget or lose the token.

I visited the Bangladesh National Museum with friends. The museum is well organized, with displays spanning various departments. However, our visit took an unexpected turn when we encountered a safety issue with the elevator on the 3rd floor. The elevator opened slightly and abruptly began to close, nearly causing harm to a friend. Thankfully, he rushed out in time. Strongly advise against using the elevator until it's repaired. The museum authorities should address this issue promptly for visitor safety. Entry Fee: The entry fee for Bangladeshi nationals is 40tk (20tk for children). For international tourists from SAARC countries, the entry fee is 300tk. And for tourists from other countries, the entry fee is 500tk. Good luck!!

The Bangladesh National Museum is a 3-floor museum that showcases the art, architecture, ecology, culture and history of Bengal and Bangladesh. This museum is preserved by the government & there is an admission fee, however it is very affordable relatively for museum entry as a traveler. For a Bangladeshi or National, it's approximately 40 taka = ~ $0.37 cents in USD. I think the foreign nationality entry price is 400 taka = ~3.50 dollars. We mainly explored the 1st floor, which was a very comprehensive exhibit showcasing a variety of topics. The ecology & flora and fauna of Bangladesh is a must visit for those who are interested in learning about the native species and their current protection status. There is a section which showcases the daily cultural practices of Bangladeshis, such as spices, clothes, crafts and farming practices. It also includes history from the tribal people of Bangladesh. There is also an extensive art and archeological art collection, with terracota, bronze and other metalworked architectures , some of which date from back to 2 BC! The coin and taka collection section is very cool. MY FAVORITE PART: The section on the 2nd floor dedicated to showcasing the independence of Bangladesh and the genocide of 1971. It is a complex and heart wrenching subject but the museum showcased the history respectfully and it is important to bring awareness to the topic. Overall, our group of mainly teenagers really enjoyed it! PS: The souvenir shop is great for people who collect postcards.

The Bangladesh National Museum (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় জাদুঘর), is the national museum of Bangladesh.[2] The museum is well organized and displays have been housed chronologically in several departments like department of ethnography and decorative art, department of history and classical art, department of natural history, and department of contemporary and world civilization. The museum also has a rich conservation laboratory. Nalini Kanta Bhattasali served as the first curator of the museum during 1914–1947.

Cheap tickets. Beautifully maintained museum. Has a female prayer area, and drinking water stand inside. Some galleries would benefit from air conditioning on these hot summer days. Not too crowded even on weekends. Perfect place to look at artefacts and learn our country's brave history. Also has exhibits about world civilizations' history other than Bangladesh's history.

Such a beautiful museum is located in Bangladesh,it is really a things of pride. Everyday almost many foreigners come from foreign countries to visit it, they can know about our culture and village Bengal through the pictures of this museum, but it is not enough as a national museum of Bangladesh, they should Keeping more quality curators and studying about different types of cultures and collecting them in the museum. The management here has good awareness about the time table, everyone will be satisfied if this goes on.The museum is open from Saturday to Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. remains, weekly closed on Thursdays and open on Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m

I visited this historical place in since last year There I had a talk with a traditional painting artist and we observe the beauty of his art work Visiting the museums in Bangladesh offers a captivating journey through the country's rich cultural heritage and history. From ancient artifacts to modern exhibits, each display tells a unique story that resonates with the soul of Bangladesh. Upon entering, the vibrant atmosphere immediately immerses visitors in the country's diverse past. The collection of artifacts, ranging from archaeological finds to contemporary artworks, provides a comprehensive glimpse into Bangladesh's evolution over the centuries. One cannot help but be mesmerized by the intricate details of the pottery, textiles, and sculptures, showcasing the craftsmanship of generations past. The galleries dedicated to Bangladesh's struggle for independence evoke a profound sense of pride and respect for those who fought for freedom. The museum's layout is well-organized, guiding visitors through different periods and themes seamlessly. Informative signage and multimedia displays enhance the experience, offering deeper insights into each exhibit. However, there is room for improvement in terms of visitor amenities and accessibility. Clearer signage and more interactive exhibits could enhance engagement, particularly for younger visitors. Overall, a visit to the museums in Bangladesh is an enriching experience that deepens one's understanding and appreciation of the country's heritage. It's a journey through time that leaves a lasting impression on all who explore its halls.

The largest single museum of Bangladesh. It has huge Collections of artefacts and cultural things. You have to purchase the ticket before entering. The ticket price is nominal only 50 taka. Then you enter and submit your baggage at the safe first. Then you can proceed for the main entrance. You can learn the history, culture and also the biodiversity from this museum. It has a huge area for roaming around and also you can find cafeteria for refreshments. They have restrooms facilities as well. Well air conditioned place. Try to avoid the national holiday you would face more crowds than usual. Taking pictures is prohibited but I took few shots for the reviews. Apology for that.

Landed up here by mistake, but I was glad I did. I was surprised by the range of exhibits that offer substantial information on different aspects of Bangladesh. I particularly liked the many religious idols unearthed from various locations in the country. These artefacts from the 14th-15th centuries and even older ones are part of Bangladesh's rich history. It's creditable that these elements from the country's pre-Islamic culture have been preserved. The museum also has several street-food options right outside the main gate. All in all, a great place for both young and old.

Wonderful objects and articrafts and ancient tools and household chores and history of Bangladesh is there to have a look🖤 In details, there are some preserved species of birds and some other mini creatures. And then you can see ancient tools and weapons used by the people of ancient ages in hunting and in wars. Then we got many quilts over there to have a look, various old technologies were there... And the last part was completely about our HISTORIC LIBERATION War of BANGLADESH... The weapons used by the freedom fighters Including many objects used by some of the freedom fighters and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were there to watch... Many huge beds were there used by famous leaders and sultans of Bengal with extraordinary designs. A copy of the Constitution was there. Then the agreement that was signed during the end of liberation war was there. Moreover, artwork of various famous artists of our country were there to watch more notably Jainul Abedins famous artworks during the famine in Bengal... And some artworks during the liberation war were there too... And then, the War equipments of the Nawab Sirajuddaula were there too.. In all, the whole of Bangladesh was represented in the museum in a very sequential and wonderful way, which was really Appreciatable ❤ It was really a great place to have a visit around...🖤

Bangladesh National Museum was originally established on 20 March 1913, albeit under another name (the Dhaka Museum), and formally inaugurated on 7 August 1913 by Thomas Gibson-Carmichael, 1st Baron Carmichael, the governor of Bengal. In July 1915 it was handed over to the Naib-Nazim of Dhaka.[4] Bangladesh National Museum was formed through the incorporation of Dhaka museum and it was made the national museum of Bangladesh on 17 November 1983. I think it is the largest museum in Bangladesh. They have a lot of collections of priceless artifacts. Arranged so well. If anyone wants to see the whole museum patiently, it would take 3-4 hours to complete. Though it is very busy on weekends but on weekdays it’s quite easy to see things. It's a nice place for children. They will get a chance to know the history and the culture of their country coming here at this museum. Security for the artifacts should be more strict. It should be more tourist friendly.

I would to like recommend that everyone should visit the museum at least once in his or her life. The museum gives to the visitors a minimum idea about culture history and inheritances of Bangladesh such as birds flowers sculptures arts architectures and so on but most importantly the visitors will be informed well about the liberation war of Bangladesh. And finally i wanna say that most of things are getting older of the important museum and still now not too modern in context of the globe.

During this pandemic entering this museum was like going to some foreign country. What a line there was!! There was two big lines both outside and inside the museum. You could say double checking of your ticket only. This was the part I hated the most. And entering there, the staffs were like, "clicking picture is not allowed, you'll get fine.. etc etc" and as we are Bengalis some of the people took picture and those staffs started checking there phone as If they have done a massacre! Trust me at some point I feel that we are not here to enjoy, we are here to give a selection of army.

Because there is some Syndicates who buy all the tickets and sell them in more costs. So try buying tickets before going the estimate date. All the historical places and museums has turned their ticketing system on online. So be aware of it. Put a like on my comment if it helps. Thanks all.

Great place to visit if you are interested in learning lots about Bangladeshi history, craftsmanship and history all in one place. The collection and breadth of arenas covered in exhibitions across all three floors is very impressive - a recommended addition to the to-see list during a short stay in the city. Will recommend to come with plenty of time (at least 2-3 hours) to fully enjoy all exhibits.

Visiting the Bangladesh National Museum was a source of immense pride for me. It provided a comprehensive insight into the rich culture, traditions, and the historic freedom fighting movement of Bangladesh. The museum showcased beautifully preserved artifacts, artworks, and historical treasures, reflecting the creativity and resilience of the Bangladeshi people. It also highlighted the intangible aspects of culture, offering a glimpse into the values and beliefs passed down through generations. The section dedicated to the freedom fighting history was particularly moving, honoring the sacrifices and struggles of those who fought for Bangladesh's independence. A visit to the Bangladesh National Museum is a must for anyone seeking a deeper understanding and appreciation of the country's cultural heritage.

Bangladesh National Museum is eventful and glorious, connected as it has been, in chronological sequence, with British Indian history, the birth and dissolution of Pakistan, and the emergence of Bangladesh. At the turn of the twentieth century Lord Curzon, Viceroy of India, by his policy of provincial readjustment, provided the political ground for the establishment of a museum in Dhaka. He partitioned Bengal on 16 October 1905. The historic city of Dhaka became the capital of the new Province of Eastern Bengal and Assam. Consequently, Dhaka witnessed a tremendous physical growth with all-round development. The proposal to start a museum in Dhaka was first mooted in the autumn of 1905 in connection with the transfer of the Shillong Coin Cab

National museum of Bangladesh, I have been there for two times. For first time I enjoyed the historical items of Bangladesh but the second time when I visited there noticed that actually this is a small place for a museum and the things remains same (architectural and services) for last 5 years nothing changed. A museum could be a good place for visiting and education, but as national museum I think it is at the bottom on list. I have seen other countries museum they were so attractive and ful of art and culture but here just few things are highlighted. Hopefully the government should notice the museum and needed to be developed for modern era.

Need to update a lot. Same Old things. No new attraction. Need to update decoration. Need to add wash room ob the other end of museum. Besides washroom was not clean. Mobile charger provided for charging mobile phone were not active. Taking photo was not allowed. There was free drinking water facility, but it coul have been presented better way. Overall there is clear negligence in maintaining National Museum.

The Museum of Independence in Dhaka, Bangladesh depicts the struggle for independence of Bangladesh. It shows the history of the nation since Mughal tenure to independence in 1971. It is the first and only underground museum in the country.

Some archaeological items are too much precious. And some of them are rare. The visitors can learn about the history and culture of our country & people very easily for here.

The tickets can be purchased online only. Which can be troublesome for some people. The AC inside don't work at most of the spaces; it feels so hot. Renovations are always going on. The lighting could be better and the displays can be old!

At first it’s a very amazing museum. Lot of collection of historic thing. If anyone visit this place i can surely say that he will understand to know the history of Bangladesh as well as indian subcontinent. When i visited this there was only online ticket system which is good but some people didn’t buy ticket because they haven’t any idea about online ticketing system. So Authority should restart physical ticketing system as soon as possible. It’s was very joyful to see about history of independent of Bangladesh. There was also some world historical. You can visit this place😊

Such an amazing exploration in my entire life. I have discovered and met a few amazing national and foreign people. One thing, the ticket buying system needs to be simplified because still many general people don't have an idea about online. They need to see and visit these places to learn something. Overall it was great. Thanks

It is a vast territory filled with contemporary collections. If you want to know about your country or other country's culture or traditions; you can visit this place. If you want to see antiques or age old creations, this place is not the best choice. Most of their collections are from recent times. It showcases the whole Bangladesh but does not have much antiques or ancient historical stuffs. Still, it was an interesting place and I'd visit again.

I think it is the most important place in Bangladesh. No organization has so many arrangements under one roof. From here the ancient civilization of Bangladesh, the ancient civilization of the world and the current civilization are all known. Such a huge event about the history of the liberation war of Bangladesh is surprising. There is a big floor about our liberation war. I was surprised when I went there. I have visited this museum many times. Everyone is invited to know Bangladesh and the world easily. you are welcome 💐🌹🌼🌻🌺

I loved this place a lot. Before entering the museum we have to purchase a ticket, which costs 40 Taka only. Then there is a luggage counter, where we can keep our bags before entering the museum. It has a very big place inside and a big collection of old things, clothes, instruments used in the past in our Country. Took a few hours to observe everything. But this place can be better if the workers keep the things clean.
