Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, actually it was former president and maker of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's house in Dhanmondi 32. This is a historical place as it holds so many memories of liberation war and 15th August of 1975. You can easily enter here through ticket which costs 5tk only. But no mobile phone or other device is allowed there. Overall, it's a good place to visit. You may find so many information here and specially the 7th March live hall speech.

After the brutal killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with his family members on August 15, 1975, the house was under military authority till 10th June 1981. After getting back to the house on June 10, 1981, two sisters, Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana announced that the historic house will be the people's house. The house was inaugurated as "Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum" on August 14, 1994. The house became a museum in 1997 and now displays a unique collection of Bangabandhu's personal objects and photographs of his lifetime. The museum is open for visitors every day from 10 am to 6 pm except Wednesdays. The ticket price is only 5 taka. How to go: Any bus, CNG, taxi cab, or rickshaw from Gabtoli, Motijheel, Farmgate, and New Market area of Dhaka to Dhanmondi can be taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Memorial Museum.

Bangabandhu Memorial Museum most famously referred as Dhanmondi 32 Number. This historic building was the personal residence of the founder and architect of independent Bangladesh, the father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was brutally assassinated along with most of his family members in this residence on the darkest night of 15 August, 1975. On 12th June 1981 the house was handed over to the surviving family members of Bangabandhu. The house was inaugurated as "Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum" on August 14, 1994.

The first place I visited during my Dhaka trip. Apart from the rooms preserved as they were on the fateful day of August 15, 1975, the place also offers a glimpse into the difficult struggle for Bangladesh's liberation and the early period post-liberation. The steps where Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated still retain the bullet marks, which is both painful and a reminder to learn from history. Cameras (including phones) are not allowed inside, but there is a locker facility near the gate. I would strongly recommend visiting this place to better familiarize oneself with Bangladesh's past (and how it continues to influence its present).

His wife Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, his sons Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Jamal, Sheikh Russel were killed in the attack on their residence.[3][4] On 12 June 1981, the house was handed over to the surviving family members of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Sheikh Hasina found Sheikh Mujib's diaries in the building after the handover and these were later published om the form of memoirs.[5] Museum Edit Bangabandhu memorial museum front gate, Dhaka The house has been transformed into the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum.[6][7] Bangabandhu Memorial Trust was handed the house to turn into a museum on 6 September 1994. A memorial museum dedicated to Sk. Mujibar Rahaman widely known as father and maker of current Bangladesh. The original home where he and his family was assacinated in a military coup was transformed into museum. It's a 2 and half floor building and an Annex wing. It contains the furniture and clothes of him. Doors and walls marked where bullet damage occured to remember the horrible incidence of assacination. It's a humble place, small but shows the country's homage to a nation's father. Average tour time would be around 1 hour.

🏛️it bears a significant historical value of Bangladesh, In 1956, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the industry minister of East Pakistan, applied to the government through his private secretary to be allotted a plot in the Dhanmondi residential project in Dhaka, the administrative capital. A year later, the government allotted him a plot in Dhanmondi. Until 12 October 1958, Sheikh Rahman and his family lived in a government building in Shegun bagicha, Dhaka. must visit with a relaxing lake view 🚣🪙🇧🇩

This historical house belongs to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. It was in this house that the father of the nation and his family were brutally murdered. There was a child as beautiful as a flower in this house, the ghouls did not leave him. The entire family was killed by a bullet. I strongly condemn and hate this murder.

You can feel him and his glorious political life… he sacrificed his life for the peoples of Bangladesh. But you can’t enter with camera and mobile phones. You can’t capture the memories whenever you visited that place. I didn’t find any multi-media presentation while visited that museum like other modern museum. In the extension building there was no facilities for old people to rest, which also a part of modern museum. Hope the authority should consider those points.

Security here is very tight. I request you to travel to preserve the sanctity of the place.

A place with historic value. It was the residence of a legend, a visionary, an inspiration for millions; Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. There are two compounds on the premises. One is a photo gallery that is the north building and the roadside one is the one where the father of the nation lived. My visit was there with mixed feelings. I wondered how lucky we were to have a leader of his stature, same time how miserable we were to lose him like that. It's a place to give homage to one of the great leaders of the World. A simple living man, with immense influence over every Bangali's, secured a permanent place in every Bangladeshi's heart. That's my Bangabandhu, synonymous with my Bangladesh.

First time i visited this place. Definitely, a devastating job the military had done very crucially. Every man should visit the place to be well known about the incident which was done in 1975.

The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum, housed in the former residence of the nation's father, is a poignant tribute to a remarkable leader. As a member of the younger generation, I felt a deep sense of humility and admiration as I walked through the halls of this humble abode, a testament to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's simplicity and unwavering courage. The museum beautifully captures the essence of the man who transformed Bangladesh's destiny. From his personal belongings to his unwavering commitment to freedom, every exhibit narrates a chapter in the life of a man who dared to dream of an independent nation and made that dream a reality. I urge my fellow millennials to step into this hallowed space and pay homage to the architect of our nation. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's legacy is not just about the past; it's a beacon of inspiration for the future. His unwavering belief in the power of the people and his unwavering commitment to democracy are values that should resonate with every generation. The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum is more than just a historical landmark; it's a sanctuary of national pride. It's a place where we can connect with our roots, understand our struggles, and appreciate the sacrifices made by those who came before us. I highly recommend this museum to everyone, especially the younger generation. It's a humbling experience that will leave you with a deeper understanding of our nation's history and the values that define us as Bangladeshis.
