Rangkut bihar in cox bazar is one of the oldest Buddhist relic place for Buddhist people . Once upon a time when Buddha was going to visit mayanmar for the spread of Buddhist religion he stayed one night in this rangkut bihar hill. Later emperor ashoka came to this place and build a stupa . So this Buddhist place us almost 2300 years . This becomes one of the oldest historical place in bangladesh. It is also proof how big the kingdom of ashoka was.

Its a historical Buddist Monestary. Very old one. Probably 400 years old. Its a tourist spot now. If you are not a devotee tyen you have to pay 20 taka to get inside. Lot of things to know inside. People are friendly. The status are nice to click at. There is a hanging bridge as well. Best time to visit is winter as the place is hot due to thick vegetation. Tou have to walk barefoot inside. This is the rule here.

I had the privilege of visiting Rangkut Buddhist Pilgrimage site in Cox's Bazar last February, and it left a profound impression on me. This historical and spiritually significant place is a haven for meditation practitioners, with ancient Buddhist relics dating back to the time of Emperor Ashoka. It holds immense importance for Buddhists and is also home to an orphanage run by a dedicated Christian father. Located in the Rajarkul union of Ramu Pourashova, just four kilometers south of Ramu-Chowmohony Bus station, Ramkut is part of a region with a rich heritage, once dominated by various civilizations. I highly recommend visiting this serene and culturally rich site for a unique and enlightening experience.

The most unique and beautiful monastery in Bangladesh. Ancient living monastery. Visited once with joy.. Gautama Buddha took rest in this place during his visit in Arakan, significant place.

Love this place. It s the most ancient temple in this territory. Sometimes we go there for hangouts.
