Shah Abdul Karim is a true legend of Bangladesh. He started a whole new era in Bengali folk song culture. It's a very good initiative to make such a museum. The government can set up a recharge center here.

Amazing Experience am glad to see this Museum, am really proud of him! We loved him. Abdul Karim was born in a low land area (locally known as 'Bhati anchal') called Ujandhol in Sunamganj district nearly hundred years ago. The place remains submerged almost eight months of the year. Karim never had a chance to attend school. But the gifted rhymester learnt from his surroundings, the people and nature and in time, he turned into a living legend. Karim has earned hundreds of awards including 'Ekushey Padak,' the highest national award in Bangladesh. "Bhatir Purush" features the life and music of Shah Abdul Karim.

It's a museum that The Government of Bangladesh has established recently in the memory of the great baul, The Baul Samrat Shah Abdul Karim in front of the residence of him. The resting place of the Great Baul is adjacent behind of this museum. It's a very peaceful and spiritual place in Sunamganj. The devotees of Shah Abdul Karim along with his son practice folk songs often at evening time. The landscape of this area, specially the bank site of Kalni river is mesmerizing.
