The
Bangladesh
Agricultural
University
in
the
district
of
Mymensingh
has
a
reputation
for
being
a
tranquil,
verdant
area.
On
the
banks
of
the
historic
Brahmaputra
River,
on
the
university
campus,
the
Botanical
Garden
was
constructed
in
1963
with
unique
plant
species
covering
approximately
25
acres.
The
botanical
garden
is
one
of
the
most
popular
natural
tourism
destinations
in
Bangladesh.
Two
years
were
spent
as
garden
curator
by
a
professor
in
the
crop
botany
department
of
the
Agricultural
University.
This
Botanical
Garden
is
utilized
by
graduate,
master’s,
and
doctoral
students
from
many
faculties.
The
first
botanical
garden
in
Bangladesh,
accredited
by
the
worldwide
organization
Botanic
Gardens
Conservation
International
(BGCI),
contains
over
600
species
of
plants,
including
1,000
large,
1278
middle,
and
4467
tiny
trees.
These
include
Gutgutia,
African
Tulip,
Kaizelia,
Swarnashoka,
Kumbi,
Nageshwarchapa,
Budhanarikel,
Patenjaba,
Pahari
Kash,
Kaika,
Sinduri,
Bixa
Chandul,
and
Epikak,
among
others.
Opening
Time:
from
Sunday
to
Thursday
from
2
pm
to
5
pm
every
week.
Fridays
and
Saturdays
are
open
from
9
a.m.
to
5
p.m.

go
to?
From
Dhaka,
you
can
take
a
bus
or
rail
to
Mymensingh
district
city
and
then
a
rickshaw
or
autorickshaw
to
the
Botanical
Garden
on
the
campus
of
Bangladesh
Agricultural
University.
