It’s a place with a limited ever rotating menu specialising in just 2 or 3 dishes a day! I got crab noodle soup, the broth was really rich and delicious. Thick rice udon noodles were nice too. It’s no frills and clean with rapid service. Would happily come back here any time.

Not overrated! Food is exquisite! We had a friend make a call in to reserve some of the turmeric noodle for us. I have not had a broth that clear and delicious in ages. There is much care that goes into their food and it shows! They were nominated for a Beard award and I hope they get it as it would be well deserved. Do yourself a favor and check it out, but go in early as they only make limited amounts. When they're out, they're out.

Very good. Rice noodles on northern pho were sticky, and mixed well with the cuts of meat. Tumeric noodles had a deep savory flavor. Would recommend any day of the week.

Cozy no frills mom and pop authentic Vietnamese soup deli. Only 2-3 items a day, fewer menu selections means better quality for the ones they do! The best Bo Kho (vietnamese beef stew) I've ever had. Brothy and rich, the beef was tender and melt in your mouth. Service friendly and prompt.. can't wait to go back on other days to try the other soups!

Tucked into the back/side of the little parking lot, this restaurant could easily be passed by on accident. It's definitely worth checking out though. There's only two menu items available each day and they sell out fast. When I was there the chicken pho was sold out and only the pnompenh soup was available. The extra bits of meat in the soup were okay, but the rich and luxurious broth was the scene stealer. Some of the best broth I've had. Noodles retained their snap. Delicious, hearty meal. I'll definitely be back on different days to try the other offerings.

Been wanting to try the turmeric noodle soup on Sundays for a while and finally did. It didn’t disappoint! Great atmosphere, quick service and super tasty food.

First time here, and we didn't know that there's just 2 options on any given day -- and on this Friday the chicken pho was sold old, so there was just one choice. But the pnompenh noodle soup we ended up with was *incredible*, with one of the best broths I've ever had in Portland. This might be my new soup spot!

Under the definition of "Mom and Pop Joint" in the dictionary comes HA &VL Vietnamese Noodle Soup. It's right there along with Delicious Broth and Genuine Experiences. I had heard about this place and decided that after a great day at the yard sales I would investigate further. The parking is a challenging tight Tetris and I was so glad I wasn't driving the big ugly truck, but after a short wait, there was a shift and a few spaces opened up. The place only has a couple of items on the menu and it changes ever day. I will be honest and say that I wanted the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup but they had already run out and I had to get the Peppery Pork Ball Noodle Soup, which I would not have generally chosen... But at first sip I was sold. It was deep, warming, complex, good umami, and the pork balls and slices were a genuine good surprise. I did not care for the one fish ball that I found in the depths, but I get that it is a prized food in Asia, I'm just too stuck in my ways to appreciate it . I also get that the addition of fish to a broth adds to the flavor like a mysterious magic elixir, a hard lesson for most western cooks. The place is a treasure. The staff were friendly and welcoming even though there was a substantial language barrier. That, for me makes the place that much more attractive. Like I have been welcomed into their world, on their terms, to experience their authentic food. I love the fact that instead of offering 50 items, they just offer two trusted items a day and if you start to explore their food, you will have you favorite days. I would bet that they know to some extent who will show up on which days. To the general white American these places can be semi visible back drops for the area that never enter into their minds as even a possibility, but that is a huge mistake! It is places like this that can show how much of a family we all are. Where it's natural to sit with diverse families in fellowship and get on with the important business of good food served by kind people.

If you want a place with a menu that is limited to the best someone could ever do a thing then this is your place. This is the exact transverse of The Cheesecake Factory. They have two offerings per day, instead of a 47 page menu. And I swear it will be the most perfect two things you've ever experienced. Choose what you will, but try every day's choices at some point

Such friendly service and amazing, delicious food! ⅓ of the menu was sold out by 9a, so treat this like an early breakfast spot if you want the best stuff

Fresh and authentic Vietnamese soups They are open from 8:00 but usually sell out by noon. This is a no frill. Friendly, nice people and fresh food. Simple settings. A bit hard to find parking.

A friend brought me here and I immediately loved it. Amazing smells. They do a limited menu with specific daily options which made decisions and service very fast. I had beef pho and it did not disappoint. Lovely space with sweet service and delicious food.

Great Pho had right amount of spice. Does look like a little hole in the wall type of place still the food was great. Place was quiet and easy to move around in. 4 star for atmosphere due to clutter of boxes. They do have 2 tables that can seat up to 8 each.

The most distinctive pho restaurant I have ever been, and the price is similar to other pho restaurants. Their phos are not the traditional Vietnamese pho, but I think theirs taste better than the traditional one. I remember they have passion fruit flavor and snail flavor. Are they sound special to you? Come and try!

Must visit for authentic south east Asian noodle soup. Flavors are good, ingredients are fresh, toppings are plentiful, price is fair, and service is very fast. If I lived in Portland I would try each of their daily soups. Be aware there is only 2 to choose from each day of the week.

ALWAYS perfect ! 🍜 Highly recommend for people that want to explore a variety of amazing Vietnamese soups. Rotating menu, so check before you go. The owners & staff are extremely kind. We try to eat here every Sunday, if we can. The turmeric noodles are so good!

Still great after all these years. They still run out of soups pretty quickly so go a bit early. I had the Pnompenh noodles this time. Great soup.
