During
my
project
in
Batu
Pahat,
I
had
been
searching
high
and
low
for
good
Chinese
restaurant
to
eat.
Since
I
have
quite
a
number
of
customers
in
this
town,
it
wasn't
a
difficult
task
really.
So
when
I
was
in
town
recently,
my
supplier-cum-friend
invited
us
to
a
dinner
at
this
famous
restaurant
in
Batu
Pahat
downtown.
Based
on
his
sent
location,
we
arrived
right
in
front
of
Restaurant
SY
right
on
time
after
finishing
our
work
for
the
day.
Feeling
refreshed,
tired
and
famished
at
the
same
time..
we
could
literally
eat
a
cow.
And
we
were
in
for
one
hell
of
a
feast
indeed.
"This
is
a
famous
restaurant
originated
from
Muar,
and
this
is
their
second
outlet"
he
said.
"I
like
coming
here
because
the
boss
still
cook
personally
most
of
the
times"
added
the
other.
And
then
I
recalled
that
many
many
years
ago,
another
customer
brought
me
here
when
I
came
down
on
business
trip.
Occupying
few
shoplots,
they
are
divided
to
few
sections
-
alfresco,
air-conditioned
and
private
rooms.
As
my
friend
is
one
of
the
regulars
here,
naturally
we
got
a
private
room
and
a
dedicated
server
to
attend
to
us
(speaking
about
customer
service).
◾Special
Yat
Zhi
Guat
(pork
ribs)
in
special
sauce
-
I
chose
this
to
be
the
first
one
to
talk
about
because
of
the
flavour.
Similar
to
char
siew
but
somehow
different
(I'm
out
of
word
to
explain
the
flavour),
I
found
this
dish
memorable..
and
in
the
end
I
was
the
one
devouring
the
flesh
off
the
long
rib
bone.
My
dish
of
the
night!
◾Deep
fried
garlic
pork
belly
-
this
served
as
the
perfect
appetiser
while
waiting
for
the
mains
to
be
served.
The
aroma
of
garlic
was
evident
from
the
first
bite.
◾Deep
fried
spring
rolls
-
another
appetiser
that
was
dicoous
especially
when
dipped
into
the
given
sambal
belacan.
◾Fried
pork
belly
with
egg
plant
and
long
bean
-
crispy
and
covered
with
the
sweet
and
savoury
soy
sauce.
◾Stir
fried
bittergourd
with
salted
egg
yolk
◾Braised
goose
web
with
pork
tendon
and
sea
cucumber
-
covered
with
the
braised
sauce,
I
love
how
I
managed
to
strip
the
goose
web
down
to
its
bone
without
much
effort.
Plus
it
has
the
old
school
taste
to
it.
◾Braised
sea
cucumber
with
pork
tendon,
mushroom
and
scallop
-
another
classic
dish
where
the
sea
cucumber,
pork
tendon
and
mushroom
absorbed
the
delicious
sauce.
◾Homemade
beancurd
&
mantis
shrimp
in
special
sauce
-
basically
a
2
dishes
in
one
plate,
the
mantis
shrimp
was
covered
in
spicy
sauce
while
the
homemade
beancurd
neutralised
the
spiciness
with
its
clean
taste.
◾Bak
choy
in
superior
stock
-
the
stock
had
this
umami
flavour
to
it.
◾Deep
fried
sweet
potato
with
assorted
vegetables
-
the
sweet
potato
gave
the
dish
a
crunchy
element.
◾Deep
fried
grouper
in
sweet
&
sour
sauce
-
another
dish
of
the
night...
The
fish
was
sliced
into
pieces,
deep
fried
and
then
covered
in
one
of
the
best
sweet
&
sour
sauce.
Nothing
was
left
in
the
end.
◾Special
XO
sauce
fried
rice
-
packed
with
the
essential
wok
hei,
and
the
addition
of
ebiko
gave
the
dish
more
bites.
Needless
to
say,
the
night
went
by
which
with
the
laughters
and
chatters
along
the
way.
A
bottle
of
whisky
and
countless
beer
bottles
in
the
end
helped
the
environment
to
be
merrier.
This
place
deserves
to
be
in
the
permanent
list.
