Got invited to the this venue a few months ago and I will be honest, I was very sceptable about how the food would taste. How wrong was I!! This is an equivalent to the Pepsi Challenge as you will wind it hard by the taste & texture to know the difference between a meat and this Vegan burger.. All the food we have had has been exceptional quality and taste and I am a non Vegan and this will be the second time we have visited this venue. The decor is rather cool, some Gothic and Day of the Dead type feel but then again it has game stations free for kids of all ages to play on. Overall, all I can say is, if you are unsure, go for it you won't be disappointed. Clean, polite & friendly staff and amazing food...a definite must try.

Love this place, definitely a new favourite/go to with friends and family. The food is so good and there’s so many things to choose from! The staff have a really good sense of what to recommend and what suits each persons needs/wants. The atmosphere is so fun, I love the photo booth and games (they’re cheaper than usual arcade games too which is a bonus!) super fun place to go, definitely recommend!

Been here many times for drinks which have always been good. Went for the first time for their Sunday service and got their Sunday roast. We got a regular and a small 'beef' Wellington. The portions are decent so the small was perfect for me. The food was excellent and wouldn't be able to tell that it was vegan. We would definitely come back again. Only criticism maybe slightly thicker gravy would make it 10/10. Update: Tried the carrot and spinach wellington, was also very nice.

First timers and very happy we made the effort to visit. Large spacious building. Brilliant service. Incredible food (if you didn’t tell me, I wouldn’t have known it was vegan). Really unique vibe throughout. Loved the menu / bible and the gaming hide outs! Couldn’t recommend this place more. Looking forward to returning!

Went to the BMTH gig night before so made a day out of being in Sheffield and visited here. Definitely worth the 30 min wait to get in and see the Drop Dead morgue and browse the Horizon Supply Co merch then we went into the bar area and had a coffee / tea. Love the atmosphere.

Incredible place. Me and my partner were completely blown away. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly. I love how the place is decorated inside as well. I left feeling happy and I will be coming back again! Next time a fellow vegan asks me where the best place to eat is, I know exactly where to send them!

Went here last night with friends, one who is also a vegetarian and two carnivores, after a recommendation. I recommend this place thoroughly. The bar is large and spacious and full of religious iconography so won't be to everyone's taste, but I liked it a lot. There's a fantastic range of beers in bottles and cans as well as Northern Monk, Beavertown and a bitter on tap. Also a multiple choice of nob-alcoholic beers by Nirvana. We had booked a table for dinner on Saturday night. We all had burgers and had sides of nachos and corn ribs. It was all delicious. The burger stacks were big, tasty & filling. The corn ribs has a gorgeous sauce and the nachos beyond the conventional single-colour variety. We had ice creams and cheesecake desserts. Remember that because everything is vegan on the menu, if you have a coffee it won't be diary milk. We loved the desserts too. Will be back for sure.

Stopped off on our way to Newcastle and will be stopping off again on our way back. Wicked cocktails, nice building and amazing food made me want to go vegan for a minute. Our server was really nice as well she even sorted us out with a free ice cream.

I had visited Sheffield for the first time with my partner for her sister's birthday and they had told me about how good church was and that we had to go there for food. From the moment we arrived the staff were lovely and constantly making sure we were being seen to. The food is all vegan but you wouldn't be able to tell as it was all so delicious and packed with flavour. Myself and my girlfriend both got the New York melt burger and her sister and friends went for the syko. Every one of us upgraded our fries to the chilli cheese loaded waffle fries and if you ever come here I suggest you do just that! The burger was delicious with fresh toppings and I couldn't get enough of the waffle fries loaded with chilli, cheese sauce, salsa and more! The onion rings also need a mention with the seasoning in the batter still making my mouth water thinking about them. Over all this place is what vegan restaurants should be aiming to be like. I myself am not vegan but would happily eat here multiple times a week if I could. If you get the chance make sure to give the place a try!

This reinvented space is a cool bar with the obvious religious theme. Its a good sized bar close to the Kelham Island area and now a popular place for a younger crowd. This is a nice bar alongside the river, a little pricey though. It has a good selection of drinks amd plenty of seating.

Bloody gorgeous in every way. Best of all, it 'normalizes' being vegan like nowhere else, like how the future could be - you go out, you eat some amazing food, have a marvellous cocktail and/or a few drinks in a cool, friendly, relaxed atmosphere and no-one mentions the 'V word'. Utopia 💚

100% Vegan. The decor, space and style of the church is like nothing else. It’s got a pulpit, decorated with flowers and amazing artwork. Retro games machines, pool table and gaming booths do not detract from the ambiance at all. They also put events on like a movie and it’s pretty cool. There’s a brilliant selection of beers and cocktails with a quick table service or just order at the bar. Onto the menu - Ohh my … Been there 4 times and never get through the menu - God I’ve tried (get it? Church!) - because they change it. Never been disappointed. Nice combo is the black bun burger and mango or banana beer.

Wow! I was absolutely blown away, I'm not a vegan but I couldn't believe how tasty the food was. Ordered the syko burger, chilli cheese loaded fries and the onion rings. Huge selection of drinks, amazing atmosphere, DJ came on around 9pm (I think) 2 gaming booths. We arrived about 530pm and stayed until closing time, didn't see the need to move on elsewhere. Staff are brilliant and really friendly, it's always nice to have a crack with staff. Couldn't fault the place one bit and I'll be back!

Excellent and friendly staff, the art and decor is just absolutely stunning, I genuinely cannot put into words how beautiful this place is. Crosses hung from the wall covered in an array of coloured flowers. Stained glass windows and detailed ceiling paintings. Little built in video game huts. Just a true dream. I came when this place first opened, and to come back years later and see how gorgeous it is now is an amazing thing. Last thing, the food. SO delicious. Oh my god. Reasonably priced, too! Overall, I don't think I can credit this place enough. I would come here all the time if I didn't live a 2 hour drive away!

So far, the jewel in the crown of vegan restaurants I've been to. Exemplary food, A* service - the chefs and waiting team here are masters of their craft. Not only a restaurant, but a venue, community space, bar, clothes shop and tattoo parlour - this absolute gem is very nearly centrally located in the UK, making it accessible equally to everyone. Go. Here. Soon as you can

Loved it. Gluten free options on most of the menu, couple of gluten free beers behind the bar and friendly staff. Food was lovely, great value for money. Full 5*. The menu is vegan, I'm not vegan, but I could turn, it was tasty as.

First time visiting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food arrived very quickly and tasted great. The only thing I'd say was the food was slightly cold, however this did not affect the overall experience. Would recommend. Food pictured, the Ma-Doner, Mac and Cheese side and Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream

Lovely place for a drink and to enjoy the live music covers as the singer was quite good. The food that we tried was delicious, especially the rainbow skewers, the hot dog, and the frango burger. The cocktail options were varied and interesting. However, when I visited on a Friday night, it was too crowded so service took very long albeit the staff was very friendly. The place was full and unbearably loud for me at least as I just wanted to enjoy a relaxed family meal. Overall, I would definitely recommend Church if you are looking for a nice meal, a drink or for its live music, if you don’t mind how loud and packed it can get.

I'd heard great things about this restaurant before, yet I was shocked at the amazing quality when I went there! The atmosphere is calm and the decor is beautiful. The food itself was absolutely delicious and it was almost hard to believe that it was completely vegan. The service was impeccable, and the chips on the side were the best fries I've ever had! Will definitely be visiting again.

I visited here earlier on today, and despite being really nervous at first because I was on my own as my friends were elsewhere, it was an amazing experience! I wanted to visit here since I found out about it and I’m really glad I did! My server was absolutely brilliant, and really understanding when my mum rung up to explain I was nervous and the wait for food and drinks wasn’t long at all. Ordered some food from there and it was hands down the best meal I’ve had in a long time, extremely reasonable prices as well! Really good atmosphere, and the decor in there is stunning as well. I would highly recommend it here, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Dog friendly, gorgeous venue. Possibly the best vegan burger I’ve ever had too! Can’t wait to come back when I’m next in Sheffield 💘

This place is a lovely converted steel works decorated with some tongue in cheek religious iconography. Staff are very friendly, beer is great, food is excellent, prices reasonable and a good atmosphere. Really good stop for a Kelham Island pub crawl or a night out.

Ignoring the fact I actually got to meet the owner (and am still shaking several hours later) The food was amazing. I'm not someone who eats vegan but I was willing to try something I wouldn't normally think of eating. We ordered the syko burger and honestly i couldn't even tell it wasnt meat. The service was also amazing. From the lovely guy who took my order (while I was remembering to breathe) to the waitress who having heard it was my husband's birthday arrived with a candle in a brownie for him. I would definitely go back! 💜

Found this place on Happy Cow when visiting Sheffield. Honestly one of the best vegan restaurants I've been to, especially for American cuisine. The atmosphere is awesome too, looks like a great place for a meal or a drink, and shame that I don't live closer.

The absolute best place for vegan food in Sheffield.

  • 5/5 Lucy 1 year ago on Google
I've been here twice in recent weeks and it's been wonderful both times. On both visits, I got the Frango burger with fries, the 'chicken' was succulent and the taste was very convincing, while the fries were piping hot and well seasoned. On my second visit my sister and I shared the 'cheese bites' and also the cauliflower, the cauli was delicious and the panko coating made it so crispy, the dips it was served with were all great. The PB&J sundae was very good, although not needed as I was so full but I couldn't resist, you'd have never known it was vegan. Aside from the food, the service was great both times, on my first visit 'Wilem Dafoby' aka Toby was so friendly, I really enjoyed speaking him.
