Quirky interesting interior and good food make Matbørsen worth a visit. Service is brisk and professional and overall was good value (by Norwegian standards). Don't be misled by the 'steakhouse' label, there is a mix of Asian, Norwegian and steakhouse on the (large) menu. Think three restaurants in one.

Ok, the service could be better because it wasn’t busy and we waited a while for drinks and food but this was the best meal I had in Scandinavia during our two week visit. The steak was perfectly cooked with excellent flavor. The grilled vegetables were tasty and still crunchy. The best part of the meal was the pepper sauce. I wish I knew how to make that sauce. Very yummy

Upscale dining spot near the city centre, and the menu selection is very expensive for all types of palates. Visited here for lunch with a group of 4, and we were seated promptly and served in a very efficient fashion. The dishes are well-priced and portions are adequate for the price you pay. Their reindeer soup is very good, and the ambiance of the restaurant reflects the upscale, intimate nature of the location. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area!

Ambiance is too good. interior is amazing. Food is ok. Price is a little high. Lot of varieties. Asian varieties are good. So as the american ones.

Very ordinary, borderline overpriced compared to the other restaurants in a 100m radius. We arrived at 22h00 and the restaurant closes at 0h00. We were warned at the door that only steaks and burgera were available on the menu from now til closing. We sat down with menus, took a little over 15 min for anyone to offer us any drinks or take our order. It's understandable in a busy restaurant but when the place is half empty and waiters seem too busy cleaning tables instead of trying to get into our wallets for some food or drink it feels like they don't care. We saw our waiter only when he brought our food, just after when we advised him there was a slight mistake in our order and then, not until we waived the barmaid over after being long done and trying to waive him over for 20 mins. We saw him walking around cleaning and on his phone but he never came back. It seems other tables in the restaurant kept looking up to waive the waiters over to so they could maybe pay and leave. Pressuring customers to leave quickly during a busy night always feel rude but is understandable in the middle of the evening or when you're the last table in the restaurant and the waiter is waiting on you to finish a long shift. Seeing half a dozen people cleaning tables, shuffling glasses and utensils around making noise is fine, as long as they don't forget the customers are still around and may need/want something else, even the check. It all made sense when I cut in my over priced though and hard to cut steak and when my girlfriend told me after 2 bites her burger was falling apart. This restaurant doesn't care about making more money offering us to get more drinks, starters or dessert, they already made their money serving very ordinary food at prices that are not justified. It's a shame that the decor is nice and the restaurant is so well situated, it could be so easy to at least offer a decent siner experience compared to all the other restaurants in a 100m radius, I had better service at the fish market.

Good place to grab a bite. Portion are small. We've tried sashimi but we found it below average. However, The monk fish was really good.

It was a wonderful experience to dine here in this cozy and ancient style resto in the city centre of Bergen. We ordered Buffet pizza , so we tried 2 types of pizza newly cooked the first one was probably a welcoming food ,which Is not good anymore too dry and hard to eat the salad was getting dry and started to darken. So the new pizzas was good I would see it taste ordinary pizza for me. It's a good place to stop by in this awful weather rain and snow outside when we got in.

Went here with 4 friends. It is a really nice building but the food was not that good. It looked good but my chicken and my friend's pork were very tough to chew. The noodles were good though. The menu has a lot of choice, but I would not go for any of the fried chicken or fried pork.

Nice place, good food!!, you can order from different restaurant from The same table. It's in the middle of the center of Bergen. The price is not so expensive

When you enter the restaurant you gotta sit somewhere and choose a table and then you have to go to the cashier yourself to order based on your table number. Comparing to the vibe of the restaurant and how upscale it is I would prefer to order on my table but I think it’s also part of Norwegian culture to not serve people 😅. Food was good.

Got a reserved table online, when I arrived it was closed. Too bad that it is possible to reserve a table when it is closed.

Approved food, but took quite a while before it was served. The acoustics in the room produced a lot of noise.
