We didn’t liked the food much here the taste was bland may be because they have their own variation of the dish. The food was obviously not authentic at all but they are trying their best. Ordered Dal Tadka which should use Tur Dal Lentils but they are using Chana Dal lentils that means they have changed the dish completely. Same applies for Aloo chat.

Good food and good ambience too. When in Bergen if you long for Indian food then this place can satisfy your hunger. The staff was very polite and even agreed to make a custom dish on request. Would definitely recommend this place. The place is centrally located and has a variety of Indian food, they have vegetarian options as well. If you are on budget then they have variety of combos which you can try. Overall a good place to have your meals in Bergen.

We had Butter Chicken, Lamb Tandoori, Chicken Tikka Masala & Lamb Vindaloo. So well prepared & authentic; highly recommended !

It was fantastic to eat there , me , my husband and my kids liked to eat and be there . Very good service, beautiful restaurant and very tasty food 😋. I recommend you to go there and you will be satisfied .

The place need maintenance 10 years ago... Food very bad. Surprisingly bad. Not a single soul in there on Sunday. Waitress is a chef too .. We had chicken korma and chicken tikka masala... Both sauce taste the same... Cream and salt. . Naan bread... It's like you asked your 5 year old to make it... Disgusting I would never step in again.

Way too long of a waiting time. The tea was filled with so much sugar. The food was too spicy. The garlic bread had barely any garlic taste on it..

I'm not sure what the other reviews are saying about the food- this was easily some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The garlic non was so perfectly crips and flavorful I could have been content with just that. Every dish we ordered was incredible and I couldn't get enough. In terms of atmosphere I really appreciated that it was above street level and felt more quiet and private, away from the throngs of tourists. Highly recommend!

We ordered vegetable tikka masala and paneer makhani and garlic naan and plain naan. All the foods was really tasty and we really enjoyed it. Would go back again

We went to this restaurant yesterday Aug 20, 2023 for dinner around 9 pm. We ordered one non veg curry and veg curry. Both comes with rice. They told they can't serve rice separately, you have to eat from same rice, although we ordered another separate rice. We came to visit to Bergen from Canada. Overall our impression is as below 1) Food quality is not great. 2) Price is higher for the food based on the quantity they serve 3) They need to improve customer service. Thanks

This is the best Indian place I’ve been at in Norway, I was really surprised on how great the food was here, really good proper Indian food. And very good service too! Great atmosphere. If you are in Bergen visit this please and you won’t regret it. I will come here again.

Been there twice, and been good both times. Tasty and juicy meat in the dish. They are good at fixing a good spice level if asking for it medium ++ are to choose if wanting more then the usual Norwegian bland spice level. Only minus we had was that we waited a bit long for our food, but we saw others that came later got their faster then us while we where done eating.. and we think it was because we came just after they opened, and not fully up running in the kitchen.. And the service was kind, helpfully and friendly..

This is Indian food made for Norwegians. Mediocre at best unfortunately. Nan not fluffy or moist. Dry and thin instead. Dry lamb however the chicken was juicy. Not much flavour at all.. Very thin gravy which should be thick. You eat waaay better Indian and Pakistani food in Grønland in Oslo for almost half the price. It's not terrible. But it's not great. Summary = you want mediocre indian food come here.

Made a wonderful vegan alternative. Great flavor. Nice spiced tea with cardemon. Enjoyed it all. Quick walk from the train or bus station.

My wife & I were in Bergen on a Monday night and had a delicious meal at the Taj. The food was perfectly spiced. The service and atmosphere complimented the meal perfectly. Would definitely go back again!

The waiter was not welcoming at all. We asked for two full dishes 3 person and he said sharing option is not available. He was definitely not interested to serve us. I have been in sooo many restaurant around the World and never got such a nonsense behaviour. The waiter must need a training in hospitality.

Exquisite cuisine in a traditional atmosphere. We came as a family of 6, ordered 6 different dishes (including the veggie option) and we are all very satisfied. We recommend for a nice family dinner!

Cozy place. Portions are a bit small, but the food is good. Spice level is Norwegian adjusted, so order above medium if you are used to Indian. The waitress is very friendly and helpful.

Lunch menu was good. Curry didn’t taste like only tomato sauce like many Indian restaurant but it was creamy and spicy as we ordered. Didn’t get the Nan because the cooker was not hot enough. I liked the honesty of the chef. Good food for South asian.

Food was decent. However we waited quite long to get the food, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Prices were on par with most indian cuisine in Bergen.

Was pleasantly surprised to find authentic Indian food in Bergen! The food tasted amazing and the staff was humble as well. Highly recommended.

On our last night in Bergen we were craving Indian food and this restaurant was the perfect pick. The samosas were delicious and both the lamb korma and palak paneer were exactly what we needed. The ambiance was great and our server was extremely kind and helpful. Would recommend.

It was bliss finding this restaurant so close to the train station and with halal food in bergen. Loved the food. The staff and chef was super friendly. Loved the Naan specially.

The onion bhajis were a delightful appetizer at Taj Mahal Tandoori . Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they were the perfect start to my meal.
