I’ve had a walking tour with Xavier yesterday for 4 hours. Highly recommend if you are like me who don’t want to spend days to plan out itinerary and end up in the touristy attractions. It’s brilliant how he condensed the history in a few hours and composed the story telling in the journey. Best part - his own perspective as a foreigner in Berlin. I too love the company of other international travellers and how their interactions add to our experience. Thank you for making my day!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience with The Original Berlin Walking Tour. The nearly 4-hour duration flew by, and the thoughtful break at a cafe for coffee and comfort was a welcome touch. Our guide, Rohan, stood out with his articulate narration, seamlessly blending historical insights about Germany with captivating stories of Berlin. What set this tour apart was Rohan's ability to contextualize the information, providing a deeper understanding of the social issues of the time. Overall, a highly informative and enjoyable tour that I would wholeheartedly recommend.

I did this tour with Xavier. I must say he was extremely thorough in his explanations. His subtle sense of humour kept the dark WW3 and Hitler's involvement topic, light. It was amazing seeing his energy and spirit on a cold Berlin morning. Well paced, informative, interesting and fun. I would recommend this highly. On top of all of this, he presented this topic in a humane manner at the time of the Ukraine crisis, giving us a lot to think about. He is a gentle and warm person yet super professional at his job. Was very lucky to have the chance of being a tourist in his tour. Big thanks to Xavier and Original Berlin walks for this experience. I wish I could give 6 stars 😊

Our walking tour of the highlights of the Third Reich was informative, interesting and enjoyable. I know that it is hard to classify the Third Reich as enjoyable. Our guide, Xavier, shared facts, photographs and stories with us. The tour lasted 4 hours plus and no body dropped out. Good job, I can highly recommend the tour .

We had Xavier as our tour guide and it was fantastic! He was very enthusiastic and very informative about the history of Berlin! He knew a lot about it and you could ask him anything. The tour itself was also very nice, you see the highlights of Berlin and a couple of places you normally might not go to immediately. You can choose between a German and English guide, our guide was English. I recommend!

Artie was very nice, informative and had a real passion for the history. He ran over by a little bit but still answered questions and didn't gloss or speed us through the tour. I highly recommend the Discover Berlin tour. It included many of the major sites in the Eastern block of Berlin like Museum Island, the Gate, Holocaust museum, Hitler's bunker site, the Wall and Checkpoint Charlie. We are here on the hottest day 90F/32c and were able to stay in the shade or site at different sites while Artie orated, 😂.

Went on tour today with guide Xavier. He left on time and was a good guide. Very knowledgeable and very easy to understand. He did not rush the tour but did keep us ticking along. He gave lots of opportunity for questions and was able to answer all. He left us with a good understanding of the history and layout of Berlin.

Great way to start the New Year with an excellent tour. Scott was a great guide, covering loads of content and highlighting many aspects of locations we had never noticed. Scott delivered a good range of information, detailing the historical significance of the areas visited to Berlin. His relaxed delivery meant that he delivered the facts and information in an enjoyable and informative way. He was happy to take questions and discuss the significance of some of the points in far greater dept. I was amazing that the time disappeared so quickly, during the relaxed wander through the heart of Berlin. Very happy with the tour and would happily recommend it.

Excellent half day walk 'Discover Berlin' with our guide Sarah taking us around the sights and telling us the history - brilliantly delivered talks and fascinating to listen to the history - our guide was well researched and made the experience very interesting. I highly recommend doing this tour if you have never visited Berlin before and ask for Sarah if you want a top star!

Had a great time with tour guide Guego. Very patient and very nice. He spoke about the topic very well and answered every question we had. Definitely recommend taking the tour which was the Sachsenhausen Memorial and Museum. It’s a great tour to take to learn about a very important part in history.

We went on the "Discover Berlin" tour with Martin, which was amazing! It was really informative, but not too much, and with his style, it was really fun! Recommend it to everyone who wants to see and hear the main stuff about Berlin. Our stop at the cafe was rather poor, however.

We started our Berlin experience with Tobi and Berlinwalks and couldn't have been more impressed. What a perfect way to start a visit to this awesome city. We took a 4 hour walking tour through all the most important and interesting spots in the city. Our guide, Tobi, expertly relayed history, facts, and recommendations that really made the rest of our visit even better.

Today I joined guide Tobi for a 3,5 to 4 hour city walk of Berlin. I would recommend you do this tour when you arrive in Berlin ASAP just so you know the story and do's and don't for the city. Tobi did an amazing job, pointed out some beautiful views and shared stories you can only hear from a guide.

We had a wonderful private tour and it was worth every penny. Torben was incredibly professional and knowledgeable in our Discover Berlin Tour! All these pockets of insight of historical Berlin that no guide book tells you. We were met from our hotel and the tour started from our station which was a ghost station. We were spoilt with taking all the historical sights and have a fantastic guide who has educated us about Berlin. Highly recommend The original Berlin walks. Easy to book and super professional folks

Rona is the best tour guide. I have been on many walking tours around Europe but she is by far one of the best. Engaging, friendly, created a relaxed atmosphere. You can tell she is not just rehearsing the information, she spoke with passion and interest. She was brilliant with my ten year old nephew who had a lot of questions for her & was eager to learn. She looked after him well, was very interactive & answered all of his questions. He loved the tour and learnt so much. Would definitely book another tour with this company again. If you are in Berlin, this is the tour you want to be on🥰!

Pip the star made a (not so cold - yet cold) Berlin afternoon fun, interesting and interactive. Not just dates and anecdotes- but some one on one conversations - a bundle of energy and warmth - it was amongst the best tour I have taken by in all my years of travels - not a single dull moment or looking at the clock. Thank you. Friday 19th Jan 2024

We had a excellent walking tour today with Jonathan N. He was very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions and his English was great unlike his German sausage joke which was the würst!! Tour continued at a good pace and there was a mid point stop for hot drinks and toilet break. Would recommend for anyone seeking a decent walking tour, giving an overview of Third Reich and Cold War Berlin.

Our family, with 2 teenagers, took the walking tour of Berlin (in English) in December 2023. Glen was our guide and he was excellent. Very knowledgeable and respectful of the complex history of Berlin. We all enjoyed the tour very much and definitely would recommend it. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk, there is so much to see!

Glen was fantastic and absolutely made our weekend in Berlin. It was great to have an English guide (from liverpool like us) as there were no accent barriers and we were able to fully understand all the information he gave us. His passion for history was inspiring and his knowledge was impressive. You can tell that he loves his job and went above and beyond to not only deliver what we had paid for on the walking tour but to add extra touches like QR codes with a wealth of information that he had created in his own time. Thank you for a fab day. I would recommend this tour as a must do excursion if you go to Berlin and if you get Glen as your guide then you are very lucky!

The "Discover Berlin Walking Tour" was amazing!! It gives you an overview of the highlights and the history of the city in general (without focusing on one specific period). We feel it was the perfect way to get a first taste of Berlin. This city has so much to offer, regarding arts and culture but it is also a city full of contrasts and Chris our guide was able to cover all of this in a fun yet educational way. The tour was so captivating we did not see the hours pass. Thank you (Canadian) Chris for this amazing time :)

We had Georgia as our tour guide and where do I start, there are too many adjectives to describe how fantastic she and the tour was. Informative, enthusiastic, passionate and friendly are just a sample of those I would begin to use. Would highly recommend this trip for any visit to Berlin! I'd advise taking it at the start of your visit as she provides a variety of recommendations throughout, which will help you when you go on to do other things? 5 stars, 10/10. Thank you, Georgia. Review is for "Hitler’s Germany: Berlin During the Third Reich & WWII." Our guide Wouter was fantastic. Very friendly and answered all our questions. The booking accidentally put German and English speakers together and he masterfully switched back and forth between each language to make sure everyone was learning. The sites you see on this would be almost impossible to find on your own, as they are not well marked or have been destroyed. This tour is a great overview of the war and the Third Reich and I feel like it's a must do in Berlin. My history buffs back home will be jealous!

The Discover Berlin Tour led by Sarah was the perfect balance of a fascinating information summary of Berlin’s history, somber imagery of Berlin’s dark past, and lighthearted stories of personal triumph during trying times. Top to bottom, this tour was educational and exactly what I desired for a day long tour. Kudos to Sarah for fielding my silly questions about random topics like a champion. Note: We stopped for coffee and a restroom break half way through.

Fabulous half day in Potsdam with Jenny. She created a really nice vibe with the group, making it highly interactive, so much so several of us exchanged numbers and shared pictures. Jenny was easy going, knowledgeable and very engaging. We learned a lot of history in a short period of time. Potsdam is a nice escape from the bustle of Berlin and only a short train ride away.

I’m not writing because we were asked to, but I do it to thank Glen for sharing with us his love of Berlin and everything that it has to offer. It’s clear that Glen loves what he does and that he has a passion for the history of this great Capital. Having pictures that show the “before” of what he’s talking about really helps with the immersion and the mind’s eye. Thank you very much mate, you made this trip a great one!

Lewis was great! Very informative the walk was over 3 hours long but there was pauses in between including a break. Which was helpful as it didn’t feel like a hike. I really liked that we was encouraged to discuss what we thought without too much judgment. Great space to be reflective on all of Berlin’s past. Lewis is very friendly and lead the group, with great pace. Do check this tour out! I feel I understand Berlin far better now.

The Discover Berlin Walking Tour was fantastic! It hit major historical sites in 3.5 hours with a 30-min break in between to get a coffee or use the toilet. It's ideal for me that I didn't make time to plan my itinerary during my short stay in Berlin. After I finished the tour, I'd know which sites to go back to and spend more time afterwards. My tour guide Scottish Scott is a great storyteller and humorous! He did great to summarize history with a fun spin to it. I went from chuckling to laugh-out-loud. I highly recommend Scott as the tour guide!

Glen also gave us tips/recommendations for the rest of our stay and answered any and all questions we had

Xavier was our guide and he was phenomenal! Berlin has such a RICH history and culture, unless you were a German Historian you'd be completely lost. Xavier was super knowledgeable and was able to break the history down for us "wannabe historians" to understand. What really put Xavier over the top was after the tour he saw my friend and I lost in the subway and he took his time to help us buy tickets and show us the route to the Christmas Market. We truly appreciated Xavier's knowledge on the tour and subway.

Took a tour to sachsenhausen with Georgia. Would recommend. Makes traveling out from Berlin easier but also joins the narrative of the camp into the wider historical context. Wear warm clothes though at this time of year. Georgia couldn't be more helpful, very clear and sensitive explanations, and clearly knows her stuff.

Addendum: The issue was clarified by Original Berlin Walks. This was a mistake by the intermediary Visit Berlin. We were sold tickets for a nonexistent city tour. The purchase price was refunded accordingly. So in the end everything was fine. Still annoying. (Original) Trotz gekaufter Tickets und Bestätigung per E-Mail ist der Guide einfach nicht erschienen. We had our tour with Sam W. He was a very enjoyable, very knowledgeable person. We seen and learnt about all the things we had on our agenda. Sam also gave us regular chances to ask any questions if we had any, after any walk between places he'd be sure he hadn't lost anyone and he'd have a good count up before telling us about the next site. He spoke loud and clear which is also a thumbs up as I was stood at the back a lot because I'm a taller individual. This tour was brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Sam Z took my contiki tour today on a fantastic tour of Berlin, where he not only taught us extensively about Berlin’s history, but also asked us to consider what certain sites made us feel. Tour leader Sebastion B was incredible, encyclopedic in his knowledge of history and just a great storyteller in conveying the rise & fall of Hitler and Nazism. It is a great starting point for those visiting Berlin as you can then decide where you want to spend more time, which Museums to visit etc. Very good value for money as well.

Couldn't possibly give this tour a better rating. Jess gave an in depth and passionate insight into the history of Berlin. The whole day was an absolute delight! Couldn't recommend it more - definetly a great day!

We took the East Berlin tour with Ken. It was very interesting and informative. We learnt a lot of things from this era. Ken was nice and very knowledgeable and he made sure we understood everything since we're french and the tour was in english. Thanks again, it was an interesting tour and if we come back to Berlin, we will surely take another one.

(Translated by Google) Without the greatest expectations but with much anticipation we got involved this summer in the city tour "Berlin Mitte". It was supposed to be on foot and not from the bus with a lot of distance, but to be in the middle of it and experience something, that was our approach. At the meeting point everything went well and punctually we started. Our guide was called Martin and let us exchange for a few hours in the history and the life in Berlin. Unfortunately, I used to find classroom lessons boring and annoyed about my then lack of interest, but Martin knew how to build history excitingly into the leadership. Incidentally, this was also confirmed by the underage, school age of our family. Chronologically ordered we started with the origin of Berlin over the different epochs, such as imperial times and of course the wall and the bunker was part of the excursion. Conclusion: At the beginning of our trip to Berlin this great city tour enabled us a perfect jump height for the further weekly planning. It was very interesting and mega entertaining. Martin has a lot of background knowledge and you can see how he is doing for his job. Questions could be asked gladly and could be competently answered. Thank you, Martin !!! We can highly recommend it! Vielen Dank, Martin!!! Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen!

My sister and I went on the ‘Discover Berlin’ walk yesterday. Campbell our guide was excellent - both knowledgeable and interesting - so despite it being a cold and wet afternoon we had a great time. Would thoroughly recommend.

My wife and I did the discover Berlin walk last week with Xavier. Wow! He was so personable and knowledgeable and excited to share with us all he knew. We just love to see that kind of passion in a guide. We were fortunate two because the company ran this group tour at such a reasonable cost even though it was only my wife and I. Many thanks to Berlin walks and Xavier. The tour is very comprehensive and does involve a lot of walking and that was fine with us. It provided us lots of info and then the next day we visited some of the museums that were pointed out along the way Great experience in every way

The 4 of us went on the tour with Scott as our guide this December. He was very informative and he threw bits of comedy here and there which helped keeping me engaged with his history telling. His voice was a bit soft though, and could be hard to hear if you're standing on the back nearby the busy roads of Berlin. The tour lasted for around 4 hours, so make sure you're wearing suitable clothing for the weather and the right shoes for it.

My review is a few months late, but I fully recommend this tour company. I had the pleasure of experiencing this tour with my husband and dog, and it was exceptional. I highly recommend Georgia if she is available. It was easy to sign up for the walking tour in-person just before the tour started. If you are limited on travel days in Berlin, the Discover Berlin tour is perfect for you!

This is absolutely worth it. Although if you go in the winter when the days are short, the last bit of it will be in the dark. But the guide was great and they take you on some of the bigger Berlin highlights. Th guide also have me some hints on places to visit which I would've missed if it wasn't for him.

Rosana was an exemplar tour guide for our trip to Sachsenhausen camp. She was knowledgable, empathetic and ensured that our trip was very memorable. Whilst the material of the visit was at times emotional, she handled the group with compassion and finely tuned humour appropriate to the occasion.

👍👍 Great tour... they take care of the customer with a lot of love. Due to the heat, there was sunscreen, chilled drinks, etc. at the meeting. Everyone was friendly and accommodating and everything was very relaxed. Conclusion: next time Berlin = Berlin on Bike again!!!

👍👍 Our guide James was brilliant, he was informative and delivered a light hearted approach to city life as we walked around much of the lesser known and more interesting parts of Cologne. I would thoroughly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about a city and it’s people that is so much more...
