    Beware folks! Do not rent from this place. They falsely add additional charges. Please keep video evidence of everything such as detailed video of car (especially the rims) when accepting/returning the car and also keep video evidence of you returning the car keys in after-hours locker box. If you don’t, they will claim that keys were never returned.

    Disaster. Avoid at all costs. We rented a VW Golf with automatic transmission weeks prior to arriving in Germany, got all the emails confirming things were a-ok, only to find out they didn't have our car when we went to pick it up. They offered us the same make and model, but manual vs automatic transmission, so we reluctantly agreed. One of us doesn't drive stick shift, so they said they would refund the amount we paid in advance, then charge a lower amount given we dropped the second driver and manual is cheaper than automatic. Well, we had the car for a week (which had an ashtray in it even though we specifically asked for non-smoking) and returned it as planned to Munich. Still no refund or lower amount billed so we inquired and were told only Berlin can help us. Ridiculous. Got back to Canada and called customer service, which linked me to the US, who linked me to France, who linked me to Germany, who told me I have to send an email and "make my case" because there are no notes on the file!?! For a company that pretends to operate internationally, this is beyond pathetic. Oh, and the wait time at the Berlin office was lengthy as well. I can't say enough about why EVERYONE should avoid this place like the plague. UPDATE: Apparently the call centre gave me an incorrect email address as well based on the reply below. I'd laugh if it wasn't such a big deal. 😡

    The worst experience ever. Upon return car was checked and was told “your good”. Later received the invoice for the “roof damage” of 2300 eur on WV Golf. No pictures of the damage, nothing. Do not rent!

    Very nice and easy to reach rental in the heart of Berlin. The sales agents are very nice and well trained and the cars are spotless. At the return, things are a bit bumpy when an employee does not know how Citroen indicator does not go fully up for the fuel and start commenting about not being full. Other than that, top experience!

    I rented a car for one day, and I allegedly caused this dent. I received a receipt for the repair of 2100,64€ (Two thousands one hundred euros and sixtyfour cents, which included also a totally unnecessary repainting of the door). "FORTUNATELY" I was insured so I have to pay "ONLY" 950€, what a luck!! And the best part is that the damage could also have been caused after I returned the car! Because if you return it after 9PM, the garage is closed already and you have to leave it IN THE STREET, UNTIL THE MORNING AFTER, where everybody can do whatever! People: if you want to rent a car, do it but for your own safety always choose the full coverage.

    Worst customer experience, they don't hold the reservation for more than 1 hour, without mentioning that clearly on the app or on the email confirmation. Then make customers waiting for 2 hours, when customers express that the experience wasn't good, start talking rudely and eventually deny the car without any respect of their time. On top say talk to our lawyers if you have any feedback. Mentioning Ms. Janelle W., She was very rude. She says there are no cameras in the premises to prove you were waiting here for the car and we won't take feedback. Talk online to our customer support but don't give us the feedback.

    This is the fourth time I have been put off because “there is so much going on today”. But how can it be that my car is still not ready an hour after the start of the rental? Very unprofessional! Then I go to the branch to ask again and am held back again, although my clerk didn't even try to make it seem friendly. I am very disappointed and will use the competition in the future.

    On December 21, 2023, all trains at Berlin Central Station were canceled in the evening due to a storm. Accordingly, many people have made a pilgrimage to car rental companies out of desperation. All hell broke loose at Sixt at Berlin Central Station and I was more than surprised at how confidently the few employees on site handled the situation. A colleague from Leipziger Straße even picked up customers (including me) from the main train station in an 8-seater so that we could rent additional vehicles from the branch on Leipziger Straße in Berlin, as resources were running out at the main station. Here, too, a big thank you to the young lady from the "Leipziger Straße" branch: She kept calm in this really tense situation for everyone involved and was very committed, so that in the end I also got a vehicle. Great collaboration. This experience makes me happy to come back!

    Unfortunately, my experience with Sixt was mixed and I would like to provide an updated review to reflect the highs and lows of my experience. I had originally made a booking for a Mercedes-Benz E-Class vehicle at a specific price. However, shortly before pickup, I received an inexplicable price increase via email that I did not make myself. This matter caused some frustration and misunderstanding. In addition, I was provided with an Audi A5 instead of the vehicle I had booked, which was described as a free “upgrade”. Although I appreciate upgrades, this was not what I booked and there was some inconvenience due to this change. Unfortunately, communication with the Sixt team was not as smooth as I expected and it took several inquiries before the matter was resolved. I had to provide screenshots of my booking confirmation and price increase email to prove that I had not made any changes to my booking. Eventually the difference was refunded, which is appreciated, but the road to get there was rocky. It would be desirable if Sixt's customer service could be more efficient and transparent. Overall, I had a mixed experience with Sixt, but I appreciate their willingness to resolve the issue. I hope they can improve their communication and transparency processes to avoid future misunderstandings.

    I thought Sixt was a more serious and professional service than many car sharing services. Unfortunately, in addition to being more expensive, they don't keep their word and don't care about customers. I gave €300 as a deposit which had to be returned after 2-3 days according to the agreements. I've been waiting for 2 weeks now and I haven't received it back. Maybe they sent the money to another customer? I don't know, but they know about the problem and don't do anything about it. I have already called them several times, written emails but nothing, every time they tell me that everything is fine and I should receive them shortly. They never showed me any written evidence about it. If it were up to them they would simply keep my money. Sad because they expected punctuality and precision from us, and they received the van early and without any damage. I don't feel like going back to them or recommending them to others. I hope I will get my money back at least.

    Extremely disappointed with Sixt. Repeated issues and dishonesty are unacceptable. They lied about attempting to contact me, failed to honor a prepaid reservation, and their last-minute notification about the unavailability of cars left me without alternatives. Their excuse about being unprepared for typical late November weather (a little bit of snow) was absurd. We are talking Berlin, Germany over here, and not Miami, Florida or Honolulu, Hawaii. The replacement vehicles were completely unsuitable. Will be reporting this to their management. This is the second time within less than a month.

    In the past I have quite good feeling and comfortable with the renting service at this location. And I did renting a lot at this location because it's near my home. The staff was quite nice and professional. But today the checkin service gave me bad experience. The bad attitude of one male staff when I did not buy full insurance coverage make me feel uncomfortable. The way he looked at me at the time made me feel like i'm very cheap. But nevertheless, the car that I received is good. I have never been disappointed with the cars from Sixt.

    Don’t recommend! Do not return the deposit for a very long time! The support service promises to return, but nothing happens. When we call again, they say that there is no information in the system. UPD: I also want to say that responses to reviews here are a formality. No one is going to respond to your emails.

    We wrote a previous comment"for wrong branch by mistake " but the email is the same as I saw in the comments While waiting for a response to our case. We contacted customer service and SIXT's account on Instagram.. Unfortunately, we did not get a satisfactory response. We were answered by the previous branch with the e-mail "same as the email provided in the comments below ". we send full details more than a week ago and we did not receive any response..(I have screenshot) Therefore, I will write our full experience. .... We have a reservation through the RENTELCARS website. So we went to this branch to receive the car and spoke with the branch manager and he was very cooperative.. He told us that the system is down (please go back to the store’s cameras on April 30 and check what I mentioned here) and in order not to delay us, he will need to make a new reservation with a new amount, and he promised that everything will be returned! We asked him for a paper to prove what he says, and he replied, The system is completely broken and he cannot print any paper, and there is no need to worry. We can enjoy our trip and trust SIXT.. We trusted the branch as we are dealing with a INTERNATIONAL company with a GOOD REPUTATION ... until the unexpected happened. The amount they promised to return was withdrawn! Emails series began by the end of May! We are now at the beginning of July..just imagine the amount of time wasted in these correspondences! We sent to customer service all the documents of the previous reservation from Rental cars and the next reservation that was made in this branch at the end of May for inquiries and we were answered 6 days ago by requesting documents that are basically there! We were answered by the previous branch via Google Map that we need to send the documents to the email that we were provided with... We sent and did not receive a response from them.. We communicated on Instagram and were requested to re-communicate with customer service! Bad experience... Two amounts were taken from the same company (the last amount is higher than the first) for the same period for the same customer... We were not contacted from the branch as they mentioned here. Up to 6 Aug . No update No money coming back . Is this how Sixt deals with the their customers?

    I had a very bad experience with the staff at this branch. They didn't want to rent a car to me because of my American drivers license. They claimed I needed a German drivers license to rent a car from them even though I'm allowed to drive in Germany with my American drivers license as a tourist and have done so many times. They wasted a lot of my vacation time discussing their made up issues and finding a different rental. I'll never visit this location again and avoid SIXT in the future. If you have a non German drivers license and don't want to waste your time and mental energy, avoid this place!!!

    Very nice employee whose name I unfortunately don't have at hand. He was attentive and courteous. Explained everything really well and gave me a proper car. I would be happy to come back and hope to be able to name this station as my regular station in the near future. Everything went very quickly and easily.

    Sixt has now managed to give me either the wrong vehicle or no vehicle at all three times in a row. The reservation was made weeks in advance. What annoyed me the most was calling around to arrange a vehicle. Why does this start when I'm standing in the station? Why not hours before?

    It makes you wonder what this company thinks it is. You rent a car from Sixt via a comparison portal with a fixed pickup time, arrive at the branch on time and have to wait because the rented car is not available. After a waiting time of 85 minutes, you have a fully fueled van that has been briefly vacuumed clean. Hands it over on time at the end of the rental and puts the keys in the mailbox only to receive an invoice that is hair-raising. Starting with alleged contractual additional components that were never rented, to the assumption that the rental period had exceeded, to not having fulfilled the refueling requirement. Only after contacting the customer center several times was the amount charged on the credit card corrected. If you rent a car there, it's your own fault. One would think that the company does not need such an approach, but this branch apparently does. Strongly not recommended!

    I have been a customer of SIXT since 2006 and have been at the station, Mitte Potsdamer Platz - Leipziger Str. 104, 10117 Berlin for several years. From my experiences so far I can only report positive things! The rental process as well as the vehicle fleet and handover is exemplary and very pleasant. The advice from Mr. Schmieder was extremely pleasant and all of my questions were answered competently! Thank you for the great service and I look forward to the next rental!

    They want me to pay 1100 euros for a 5cm scratch on the right front door due to an accident that I did not cause, even though I was fully insured. When I rented the car, no one came to check it. When I checked it myself after the car was delivered, I couldn't see anything. I rented the car for a day, and as if it wasn't enough that I paid 230.00 euros for the car including insurance, now they charge 1100 euros for a 2 cm scratch. Is this a new fraud system?

    The best experience I could have asked for when renting a car for the first time. Very professional, efficient and friendly employees, hence a great experience at the counter. I was provided with every information I needed to know, therefore both the vehicle pick-up and return (return outside of opening hours actually) have been very straightforward. The price is also good for the quality of service that I have recieved. I am definetly going with Sixt again the next time I need to rent a car, and I would recommend Sixt to anyone, especially someone who is renting for the first time or doesn't have much renting experience.

    We were given a car with unregistered damages. Luckily we had gotten full coverage and didn't have to pay for these. But THIS IS FRAUD on the part of Sixt GmbH. If we had not gotten insurance we would have had to pay for these damages which were already on the car before we even had the keys!!!

    Sixt is scamming people with their voucher, which is not applicable in the normal process. It’s not stated on voucher or website. You can only book the 30€ voucher if you pay later which comes with an extra fee of 15€. Verbraucherzentrale has sued Sixt already several times, they continue with being a menace of a company.

    biggest scam ever. Also worst customer experience I’ve ever had. Got charged 3 times payment for just one car. Even after contacting the manager, the hotline and the woman at the counter. Nobody was able to help. Even after 3 days still no payment back. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever again.

    Three stars for the car which was okay (but not the one I asked for and not the one that was shown to me). 0 stars for service. Here’s why… First thing which was understandable but annoying: my wife had to pick up the car in my place since my credit card wasn’t accepted. I didn’t know my PIN number which was required. However, I would have been able to pay the caution by smartphone, cash, bank transaction or my wife’s credit card. None of it was possible. She showed up later , got a different car (not the one your employees showed to me when I was in the office) and -this is the worst part - your company sold her an unnecessary insurance which I had already rejected when I was there before her. We had booked an insurance (Vollkasko) online via booking.com which your employees weren’t aware of so we ended up paying additional 22€ per day which was completely unnecessary. In addition we had to pay around 50€ extra for the additional driver. All of this wouldn’t have happened if your company was able to accept other payment methods. Also I tried to find the phone number of the office in Leipziger Str to complain about that the same day which was impossible. We lost about three hours of our time and around 90€ For four days of rental due to these annoying regulations since our home is not exactly around the corner of the pick up station. In addition, my wife couldn’t leave the parking Garagentor at least another 15 minutes since the gate was closed and no one noticed it and let her out. It was incredibly stressful to me and my wife and a really bad start of our short holiday with our two children.

    Got ticket which I paid but Sixt failed to commnicate $30 fee to us and sold this debt to the Ecollect which cost me $130. Poor business. Never answered to my emails.

    Very nice and competent team. Vehicle handover, condition, return - everything went smoothly. Although it's a Mercedes E-Class instead of the BMW 3 Series, that would be "complaining" on a very high level. ;-) So I would love to come back and definitely recommend Sixt and the Berlin Mitte/Potsdamer Platz station.
