When I went in September 2020, they had a really interesting exhibit about Albanian propaganda art which was awesome. It wasn't crowded as this is not a typical touristy spot. We visited on a cold day with light showers, but it would be even better on a sunny day. Highly recommended for families and people who are interested in history or educational tourism spots. The management was sweet and helped us with arranging a wheelchair for a senior visitor immediately. The place took all precautions that are necessary during the pandemic. The washroom was fine and usuable. The restaurant, however was just ok, most of the items on their menu wasn't available, so we mostly settled for potatoes/fries.

The museum is just amazing. It is a private museum and it is actually pretty small however the exhibitions are just mind blowing. Since it's a private museum there is a small fee at the entrance but is definitely worth the money. The museum closes later than normal museums (around 19.00) and you can enter the museum until 18.30 or around. The current exhibition is about the byzantine heritage and was just fascinating. Definitely worth to pay a visit. Museum is located at a fairly easy place. If you use the small street ish passage next to "Koton" shop at Istiklal street all you need to do is turn right and museum will be around in 50 m or smt. Museum is close to public transportation too ( Public transport till Istiklal street, than that means you basically arrived)

Great museum! Visited during a weekday. There were 2 floors open, one with the Ottoman pictures and the other one was with the measuring tools of our ancestors! There is a coffee shop on the first floor, so dont buy any drinks before entering, otherwise youll have to trow them away!

50 lira for an adult ticket. Completely worth the money. It’s 5 floors with different historical pieces or art in each. The 3rd floor modern art was my favorite. Highly recommend & it’s a short walk to Galata tower and right by Istiklal street

I visited the museum three times, and each time, I had a profound and moving experience. The exhibitions are great with cutting, deep, and thought-provoking and inspiring messages. It's always nice to walk around the artistic spaces, and it feels like you're walking around alone, even if there are a lot of people. The staff is nice. I recommend ending the tour at the cafe on the first floor:)

The museum offers a good amount of paintings and pictures (they were present as part of the temporary exhibition, so you may not get to see them) that were spread on 5 floors. It's an enjoyable experience and if you love art or plan to stay a week or so in the city, you can definitely have a look.

I go to the museum each time i visit Istanbul , the variety of topics attract me to come whenever new exhibition happen , the place is well organised, i recommend art lovers to visit

Always attractive exhibitions... Osman Hamdi Bey's famous Tortoise Trainer welcomes you on the 2nd floor... Not so crowded ... A cosy cafe and art shop at the exit.. i never regret going there

Had a great time! Lots to see. Great curation. Two visiting exhibits: Istanbul Today, and Paula Rego, and permanent floors. Worth the time, and helped to further deepen my understanding of Turkey, it’s people, culture, and Istanbul.

Visited on 7/4 and had chance to see cool 4 differen exhibitions in 5 floors. A great value for such a diverse city but Turtoise Trainer (Kaplumbağa Terbiyecisi) by Osman Hamdi Bey is the highlight of the museum. This is a must to visit if you are around the neighbourhood. Ps: Fridays are free entrance after 6pm.

Cheap entry price and beautiful current exhibitions, especially the top two floors about Göpeklitepe shot by Isabel Muñoz. I didn’t know about Göpeklitepe before and it’s exactly the kind of thing I’m curious about, plus the images were stunning, evocative, solidly installed. Gorgeous!

It was one of the best mine experiences in Istanbul - cause the city is for sure art-friendly place. The exhibitions were great and really important, because in my history major I've seen the pieces only on Google pictures and to see them in real life is worth every coin and minute spent

Nice museum! A little small with only 2 floors but beautiful paintings and interesting artifacts from different eras. (I don't have a picture of the paintings room but it was my favorite! There was even a VR experience where you could enter into Osman Hamdi Bey's famous painting the tortoise trainer, very cool!), and on Friday nights from 6pm to 10 pm it's free!
