One of the most mesmerising and cozy cafes you can find in Istanbul. It's definitely a must try particular during December. The ambience is simply nostalgic and the book shop completes the magic of the cafe. The coffees and pastries are equally great. Definitely recommend this place to folks first time traveling to Istanbul.

2023: What a match made heaven, books and coffee. Who would've thought? If you haven't already, here's a good place to try Salep. Drink prices are a fraction of what they charge at the Grand Bazzar, and can serve as a good guide. *****

A really beautiful vintage interior, good drinks, hot chocolate is good for 29tl It's loud for a library or a reading place, music is loud It serves alcohol, weird for a library

Every time I’m in Istanbul I drink my morning coffee here which is literally everyday. It is a lovely part of my Istanbul experience :) Coffee is just perfect and the desserts are above and beyond. The prices are so affordable too.

Charming little coffee spot on the main shopping street. The coffee shop is combined with a little bookstore, adding to the ambience. The only con is that the coffee seems pretty expensive. A flat white cost me 60 TL. Edit: I had originally given this place four stars, because the coffee is a little bit expensive. However, I had not yet seen the full interior. The interior is lovely! What a comfortable and nice spot to spend some time.

The atmosphere is spectacular, a nice place to grab your laptop and sit and work. Coffee was not bad, drinkable. From a german named cafe i expected the german cake to be authentic but it turned out too sweet and the cake part was too dry. The apple pie was not buttery at all, I was looking for some fat in it 😅 Although the dessert looked so welcoming but the taste dissapointed me.

People, this place doesn’t look as good as it looks inside. You must come and try anything. I had latte and gluhwein with super duper tasty German cake. 💯recommend

Very poor attitude. Asked for one hot chocolate but to be split in two cups for my kids and was faced with an angry face from their barista. Then asked for two large cappuccinos and she freaks out as "it's not their standard size" like she's to decide what size I should drink! Bangs the cups on the table and starts nagging while making coffee! Sorry, but you need to work on your customer service.

The outside is nothing like the inside. Quite cozy and cool atmosphere. The service is great even with the language barrier they are helpful. Prices are very reasonable and the coffee is special. I would have loved to study or read a book in there.

Great local and cozzy coffee shop in the middle of such an an active area, a good place to rest before going out all over again. We recommend the hot wine (not in the menu) and ghe apple crumble pie (it goes under another name but they'll get it).

Wonderful place to sit down with your laptop and spent some time with your work. Good coffee, desserts, sandwiches. A lot of place to sit but sometimes it is crowded. Have student discounts. A lot of outlets to plug in, amazing interior, two floors and one upper isolated one. Great and reasonable prices. About 200 TL for several drinks and sandwich. Everybody is working around. Working atmosphere

I think the place is not suitable for foreign costumers, I sat at a table and then the employee came for no reason and changed my place because there are Turks who want my place… I have traveled to more than 10 countries for tourism but I have never experienced such a racist attitude… As I said I do not advise foreign costumers coming here :)

Fiyat performans harika değil. The almond cake was good and the iced Americano was decent but the cost were much higher than similar places elsewhere in the city. Decent for a splurge but not a place worth visiting regularly.

Cozy and hip atmosphere, excellent service. Try the hot chocolate with caramel - it's delicious! Students studying, couples holding one another, friends just talking and laughing - ideal for a quick escape from the noisy (and, for some, uncomfortable) experience that is Istiklal street. Definately visit!

Wonderful interiors and great timber decoration for two-story cozy and authentic cafe. However, the desserts were not delicious. We had Bienenstich, and Lotus cheesecake. The German cake was a mediocre one, not the best I’ve had. The lotus cheese cake’s cheese was not good. It was actually made of heavy cream. Coffees were okay. The service was a little bit slow. It’s a packed spot and not enough waiters. But for a bookstore, it’s unique. The overall score 3.8/5 for a Cefe.

Service and atmosphere was great but the coffee was actually terrible. We got a dirty chai latte and a baileys coffee. The dirty Chai tasted like a candle. Given the amount of people and the reviews I was expecting my drink to have some flavor. If you go order a water and take your Instagram photos and carry on. Don’t waste your money espresso lab and Starbucks are way better.

It’s a great bookstore and a great space in general, we spent many evenings and afternoons here. Too bad that the food here is merely an afterthought. None of the desserts they sell tastes fresh or good so we ended up ordering only drinks which are decent. The wifi is very weak too.

AC is barely working. At second floor just no air to breath. Dirty latte had terrible taste. Kis had no taste at all and was served cold. But ambience is nice

lovely decoration and great place to go to for a cuppa. the orange brownie was to die for, i’d probably share it with someone though as it’s quite big. 1 pot of tea is also enough for two if they allow two cups. would go again.

I am so impressed by the aesthetic of this cafe. Actually, what makes this cafe more special is the barista!!!! She is nice, cute, and helpful. She wanted to make us happy and comfortable. I wish I could thank her in person ♥️ sending so much love to her if she can read that🙏🏻

It is a cute place. Mostly used by German language talking groups and actual German people living in İstanbul. Also you might stumble upon to students from Turkish-German University. Their german cake is really good and coffee pretty decent. I did not really enjoy the vegan cake I had but I'm not a vegan so that might be the reason why. The teas are pretty nice and from one order you get 1.5 cups. They also serve food, wine, beer and coctails as well as the soft drinks. I personally enjoy the chill rustic vintage vibe it has and the staff is really kind.

This is a perfect place to focus and work/study and grab a cup of coffee. Offering beer and a range of cakes and sandwiches, you can extend your stay there for hours and never get hungry. The mere improvement would be adding more electric outlets, so people can use their laptops and devices in a better convenience

I stayed all day and worked with my girlfriend. There are plugs and the Wi-Fi is acceptably good. The food and drinks were good and cheap. The environment is very cute clean, warm and welcoming.
