(Translated by Google) It is a free museum with 2 floors open for service for now. You can find a very large exhibition of Osman Hamdi Bey, the owner of the famous turtle tamer work, and very important in terms of Turkish archeology history, a special calligraphy hall, and valuable works of Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu here. The exhibition has not yet been enriched with sculptures. I think other lines and halls are being prepared for the exhibition. It was a paid museum before the restoration. Probably, when the whole building is put into service, the museum may return to a paid state. Even in this state, it is home to very valuable works. worth visiting (Original) Şimdilik 2 katı hizmete açık, ücretsiz bir müze.

(Translated by Google) A large collection comes to life in a post-modern building. The exterior has been preserved, each container designed to house a different period or artist. The paintings we see in an industrial texture are even more romantic. The lighting just felt sloppy. It can be even more meaningful if you visit the painting museum in Beşiktaş on the same day. It's not too big, but you should still set aside at least an hour.

The rating is not specifically about the museum but the lack of communication. The museum is closed for the summer. No public information about the closure has been announced anywhere. Cannot imagine it being so difficult to update operating hours on something as simple as Google Business considering other closed museums manage to make an announcement. It's unfortunate there's zero care given into visitors though we are generating revenue for the economy.

Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum invites art lovers to a journey that blends history and art. It reflects the cultural texture of Istanbul with its rich collection dating back to the Ottoman period. Each work offers a unique experience by combining traces of the past with modern times.

(Translated by Google) Didn't find what I was expecting. I was dreamed of silence, I could not see any significant painting and sculpture. An overhyped exhibition. The building is excellent but cannot be compared with the city museums in Europe whose work is not filled with art. There was no hand drying paper in the toilets. It wasn't worth it to go. The staff was polite and respectfully answering the question asked. The interior and exterior cleaning of the building is excellent. The picture I took from the inside was very clear. Also, there is a bus stop right in front of the museum entrance. (Original) Beklediğimi bulamadım . sükutu hayale uğradım , ciddi kayda değer bir tablo ve heykel göremedim. fazla köpürtülmüş bir sergi . bina mükemmel fakat işi sanatla doldurulamamış avrupadaki şehir müzeleri ile mukayese edilemez . tuvaletlerde el kurulama kağıdı yoktu tasarruf yapılıyormuş hiç yakıştıramadım . Gitmeme değmedi.personel kibar ve saygılı sorulan soruya cavap veriyodu. Binanın iç ve dış cephe temizliği mükemmel içerden çektiğim manzara resmi çok net çıktı..Ayrıca müze girişinin tam önünde otobüs durağı var .

(Translated by Google) -The Istanbul Museum of Painting and Sculpture emerged in 2011 when Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University commissioned the Emre Arolat Architecture (EAA) team. The museum, which is one of the exhibition locations within the scope of the 16th Istanbul Biennial, is also of great importance in opening the customs port, which is located in one of the most important locations in Istanbul and has been closed to the public since it was built in 1960, for public use. Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum (IRHM) transforms the old warehouse building designed by Sedad Hakkı Eldem into a contemporary art museum. Although IRHM's Warehouse No. 5, designed by Eldem, is completely demolished and replaced with a museum, it is designed considering the place of the old building in the city's memory. Great architecture! The building itself worths visiting. Located in Galata port near the Istanbul modern museum, Resim ve Heykel museum has a large collectons of painting and artworks, it's designed in 4 floors with rooms contain the paintings. Highly recommended. Discounted rate for residence of Türkiye (even non Turkish).

The best museum/gallery experience in Turkey I’ve had! I really appreciate the theoretical work they’ve put in because it wouldn’t have been the same without the educational text that came with every room. I recommend setting aside maybe an hour for every floor (3-4) just to be sure, especially since it also has a coffeeshop and souvenir section on the ground floor. Lines are rarely long, bathrooms are clean, staff is kind, and the architecture is just beautiful! The text provided there is only in English and Turkish, so I hope you speak at least one them since it’s crucial to understand the contexts of each section.

(Translated by Google) I highly recommend going to this museum, which is home to many works of art, which I said with a sudden decision and I'm really glad I went. I also quite liked the main architecture of the building, the guards were attentive and polite. When I went early in the week, it was very quiet and free. When looked at, many works were very valuable in my eyes. If you come across people who study with you, express their opinions and share the same goal with you, it would be nice. After visiting the first floor, I was told that Osman Hamdi Bey's works were exhibited on another floor that day, and I enjoyed this part the most. definitely worth a visit.

A well organised and extensive museum. Showcases works spanning across decades and presents it in a structured way based on a time period. Give yourself at least 2-3 hours if you want to see it from start to finish. P.S. Cash is not accepted for payment at entry, only credit cards.

Beautiful collection of Turkish artists, structured chronologically, you will see many different art styles and movements in Turkey, and learn about the foundation of official Turkish School of Art by fascinating intellectuals of Turkey in the second part of the 19th century. The additional texts are helpful

Enormous, rather cold and unappealing building with references to the development of fine arts in Turkey. Numerous exhibits on 3-4 floors. Dedicate a few hours to the place if you want to see everything in detail. Doesn't really have seating (resting spaces) on top floors so can be overwhelming and exhausting.

It is one of the most important museums in Istanbul. It is among the top 5 museums of sculpture and painting. Inside, you can see local and foreign paintings and sculptures of every period, in all kinds of categories. There are 2 different exhibitions on the top floor. Some of Osman Hamdi Bey's most important works are here, which are definitely worth seeing. In the next room there are quality temporary exhibitions. It is definitely one of the places to visit and see.

I was nit sure if I should visit the museum because it's much more student-like place than tourist, but I enjoyed it very much. Chronological order of pieces and the pieces themselves were for sure worthy and exciting. There were contemporary art as well, which is great. And it even had small installations of the museum's history which is for sure interesting to know and not dull at all

Art lovers will love this place. The paintings here are mostly about experimenting with different styles. I especially loved how easy it is to navigate through the museum. The stands with explanations of each room is very clear and educational.

ISTANBUL PAINTING AND SCULPTURE MUSEUM It is an art museum that was opened on September 20, 1937, as Turkey's first Fine Arts Museum, in the Crown Prince's Office of Dolmabahçe Palace, and is currently located in Antropo No: 5 in Tophane. The museum, where the main works of 19th century Ottoman painting and sculpture and the Republican period are collected, is an institution affiliated with Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. It remained the only art museum in Turkey until the 1970s. It owns Turkey's most important modern Turkish painting collection and is the source of art museums and State Art Galleries in many major provinces of Turkey. Almost all of the collection of 12 thousand works belongs to the members of Sanayi-i Nefise and Fine Arts Academy (today's Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University). The MSGSÜ Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum building, which is among the top places to visit in Karaköy, is the architectural office of Emre Arolat Architects, which has won many prestigious awards, including the Aga Khan Architecture Award in 2010 and the Mies van der Rohe European Union Contemporary Architecture Award in 2015. Designed by.

(Translated by Google) Although the building design is beautiful, it seems that there were problems with the workmanship. The explanations in the exhibition halls were insufficient for me. Sometimes repeated. At the very least, there should be more information about the artists whose work is exhibited there. Lighting shines on the pictures, so it is difficult to see some pictures. There are many beautiful works in the museum. Must see.
