The experience here was amazing. The art was amazing along with the history of the submarine base. This is a must do while in Bordeaux. The challenge here is that if you take the tram, expect to walk. There is nothing close. They are all 20+ minutes walk. We saw the Venice experience and loved it.

Immersive experience is sensational! The exhibition is comprised of 2 main shows. And in the smaller room, Le cube, played 2 other contemporary shows. The venue is a bit far from Bordeaux center, but the transportation is convenient. It’s definitely a must-visit in Bordeaux.

The Bassins des Lumières is one of the most interesting things we have seen on our trip to France. The building itself is amazing but the music and light show were really next level. The theme was Salvador Dalí. This is an amazing show in an historic building.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the staff or logistics, but I found the installations to be a bit naff. Think animated screensavers. I’m not entirely sure either Dalí or Gaudi would be massively impressed how their art had been re-used. The physical space is very impressive, but I just wish it was used to show something that was art, not just spectacle. It’s definitely a show, not a gallery. My photo was at the most interesting point; between shows when nothing was playing!

Spectacular must see display whilst in Bordeaux. This was definitely one of the best things we did in Bordeaux. The display was beautifully set and run. You can just spend time sitting and watching and listening to the display. The setting itself in an old submarine base was very interesting as well with some history of the base itself to read as well. Access to the area was a little tricky, by car it would be easy but we had to walk for a while from the nearest tram stop to access. But it was definitely worth the trip.

Fantastic place to visit if your interested in wartime history. It’s currently hosting a Salvador Dali exhibition which is fantastic but it also has signs around the place describing how it was constructed and what it was used for during the war

Poor experience. Walked 90 minutes from the city centre only to find it was closing in 20 minutes at 2pm on a Sunday. Also it's now an art exhibition - on the day it was showing a tintin film so erasing the ability to view historical significance of this building. Don't waste your time or money coming here. You will be disappointed

What an amazing surprise! Just simply spell binding, worth every euro! You can spend as long as you like just watching an old WW2 U Boat hangar turn into a moving work of art. If there is one thing to see in Bordeaux it's this!

An old submarine base converted into a public show. We saw the Gustav Klimt and Paul Klee exhibition. Pictures of the paintings are displayed in all the area with music background. You can watch along the water docks, into the cylinder box or on sitting stands. The experience is unique and not to be missed if you are visiting Bordeaux area.

3.5 stars, on the one side it's really impactful how they made an art gallery out of a world war 2 bunker, and the art is gigantic on the walls. Then again, it is also kind of scary. If you do not know the artist you may not enjoy it as much also. The Cube inside Bassins des Lumières has some more kid-friendly art.

This is very good for people who enjoy visuals when experiencing art. This show was on Venice and it was beautiful. Its based in an old submarine base. So you can see the water, the space is huge and was a great experience. I would of loved the shower to have been a bit longer but overall a beautiful show. Would love to go to the space again and see a different show.

The exhibition in this incredible space is well worth a visit. It is fascinating to explore as the different light shows project onto the varying structures. It is a little hard to access as a pedestrian as it is a walk from the nearest bus/tram stop, has no cycle/mobility facilities (shared or otherwise) and has no footpath from the road.

I recently visited the "Les Bassins des Lumières" and it was amazing! The technology they used to display the art was incredible, it was like nothing I had ever seen before. The projections were so vivid and the sound accompaniment added to the overall experience. It was also great that they had interactive areas where we could learn more about the artists and their techniques. Overall, it was a unique and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend visiting if you're ever in Bordeaux.

Wow what a surprise this was it was a lot better than we thought it was going to be, we worth the entrance fee of 15 euros (children free) so no excuse not to go my tip is when you first enter just move to one side and let your eyes adjust to the low light (sometimes it's bright sometimes dark) one thing for sure is you will enjoy it

Great museum to visit. Very cool thing to do with an old submarine base. Recommend getting here via the bus tour from the tourist information center next to the grand plaza as it includes travel and entrance ticket

Amazing experience that certainly exceeded my expectations! As soon as you step into this captivating art space venue, you will transport into a world of mesmerizing visuals and immersive artistic wonders. The location, a renovated submarine base with vast chambers and large water basins, also brings a whole other dimension to the experience. Definitely would recommend this activity to anyone visiting Bordeaux!

This place is PHENOMENAL, an entirely immersive experience and it’s really one of a kind. Would 100% recommend. It’s a little out of the way from the city so maybe do it straight after the Wine museum as they are in the same direction.

One of the highlights of our stay in Bordeaux. Really fascinating to see artwork come to life! Also a great way to spend a scorching day in Bordeaux. I just wish there was an easier way to get there by public transport! We had the City Pass (also recommended!) and this was included.

This is just a real wow experience when you enter this old worldwide submarine base. As you walk in, it's dark and cold and then suddenly you are welcomed by some amazing 3D images across the walls and ceiling with amazing music, the pink floyd brick in a wall is just amazing. You have other rooms to enjoy as well, with bean bags to lie back and watch a stunning 3D film with amazing chill out music, like a full-on meditation, just amazing...

The best visual art I have ever experienced. Even if you are not an art lover, the setting is in a German World War Two U-boat submarine base called Betasom and was very active during WW2. It is a huge structure with other bunkers nearby. Using this building to create this visual art experience is completely breathtaking. The idea is to walk around the submarine base whilst watching a breath taking projection set to music. The start of the show is incredible with the visual effect of a submarine entering the building. This is a “must see” when in Bordeaux and worth visiting just to experience this! Travelling here is challenging as the tram is about a 20 minute walk from La cité du vin stop. This whole area is new and there are some interesting places to see and an amazing French food hall very close to La cité du vin. I have seen bus stops near the actual location and google maps can assist with bus information. Of course, there is always a taxi option as the easiest way to get there. You must book in advance and can do it online and select a specific time. There is also a ticket office on the premises but booking online is a better option as there is a chance you may not get access if you just arrive as it maybe too busy. Visual shows change so you can go again when the art changes. An incredible event and highly recommended. Awesome event!!

Great experience, but if you are on public transport, be prepare to walk some more. Those, who are sensitive to visual stimulans (eg. people with autism), sholud avoid this atraction. But otherwise is realy great experience.

It was amazing. What could you do better then transform war objects into art places? Especially in this case it looks so great together. Psychedelic Dali and Gaudi and straight minimalistic forms of the bunker works great also music fits wonderfully. Interesting if the choice of 2 spanish artists is a coincidence? During construction it was used the work of a lot of spanish prisoners, actually third. It was completely not cold and not chilly inside in Juny, but humid. We was on Tuesday and did not need to wait to buy a tickets or to come inside. There are benches in first hall and a big stairs where you can seat in the last hall.

Fantastic! I find the art of Dalí bizarre but the exhibition itself is truly phenomenal. The concept of repurposing military installations into artspace is brilliant. I especially loved the smaller exhibitions within inside the Cube. I could have stayed in their for hours. Beautiful and very relaxing.

Wow, just an amazing experience!! Worth your time. Plan to spend maybe 2 hours so you can see entire show. Beautiful pieces of art set to music that reflect in the water! Note: There is parking on site.

If you're in Bordeaux, you must visit this! The exhibitions are really immersive and unique! Image quality is top notch, same as acoustics! The place itself is quite unique, and not your usual art gallery, which just adds to it! There is a smaller room, The Cube, which can be easily missed, but it's definitely worth a look as it displays contemporary projections!
