Lovely riverside pub with a very good selection of interesting beers and a beautiful riverside terrace with some great views. Food looks interesting but expensive. There is parking and also good seating options inside and at the garden as well. The service is friendly and the venue was clean and well organised. You need to cross a busy road to get to the riverside terrace but you can order and the waitress will bring it to you. Well worth a visit.

This is a really nice pub set on the river bank, great if you’ve a boat and want to pop in for a pint or lunch! There is a busy-ish road that divides the river garden from the pub but don’t let that out you off as they have a mini-bar on site to serve you. Just keep an eye on kids. We just had a couple of pints today but the drinks list is fairly extensive, I’ve also eaten burgers here in the past which have been nice. I didn’t use the toilets on this occasion but they were fine last time. There’s a small but ample car park to the side of the pub as can be seen in my pics. Be careful when exiting as there’s often people crossing and cars whizzing by all at the same time!

Yes. Yes. Yes. Great pub on the river. Has a docking if you arrive on a boat. Lovely atmosphere and cosy. Eat in or outside or right on the river. Service is excellent all friendly and professional. The food is Very Good. I had with my daughter 7 or 8 different tapas all of them exquisite. Sent my compliments to the chef. Bravi !!!!!!

Allow me to describe to you this delightful pub situated alongside the tranquil river in Shepperton. The ambiance is incredibly pleasant, complemented by an amiable crowd and exceptional facilities that enhance the overall experience. Moreover, the pub's aesthetic appeal is nothing short of remarkable, making it a feast for the eyes. All in all, this is a place that truly delivers on all fronts!

Loved this pub, friendly and helpful staff. The garden at the entrance is lovely, covered, heated and comfy sofas. There are also little sheds with Dining tables in for groups. There's also a Snug which is available for private hire for groups of up to 30 guests Menu looks beautiful although we had already eaten before we arrived. Will be back soon Red Lion! Areas of improvement: - Loos could do with nicer soap!

The waiter was lovely and super chilled and was helpful. And a good atmosphere for Sunday lunch. My chicken with trimmings (£20) was okay. I had much better Sunday roast in other places. Good location as you can go for a nice walk along the Thames after. I would recommend the pub!

Always love coming here, the burgers honestly never disappoint and staff always friendly. Really do recommend this place for any occasion. We went for burger Monday and it was a great deal however how can you justify £8 for onion rings…

The food was excellent and the service very good as well. Even our 2 dogs were welcome! All 6 of us humans thought that our food was well cooked and presented with sensible portion sizes. Well done!

This is a lovely pub to sit outside or in at, next to the river or in the huts or new area outside. The food just doesn’t justify the price, I have eaten here on more than one occasion, hoping it will get better every time but it doesn’t and the price just seems to increase. The food is a little average and for the price you pay I would expect better. Service outside next to the river can be lacking unfortunately. I’ll come back for a drink but I won’t eat here again.

Reviews were all great, service was lacking, we had booked a table, not offered a menu, had to go to bar to get one. Starter was very tasty but not enough pitta bread, to go with Humous and Moroccan pulled lamb. The main courses were delicious.

Great pub with amazing classic pub food. Our party opted for roast dinners and the food did not disappoint, it was dinner as expected. The portions were really good size and the beef slices were cooked to perfection (medium rare) with crispy roasted potatoes and Yorkshire pud. Root vegetables are served speratly and they all we prepared really good. Desserts also were amazing. There is a kids menu also for under 14 with classic pub options. Highly recommended.

This is a great place to come and have a full meal but the pub vibe doesn't marry with the menu. No evidence of a bar menu, or lunchtime snacks. I had a starter of the potted shrimps which was delightful, but I'd have liked something less starter and more lunch don't be put off by the 3 stars food was great, the choice was the issue.

Good food and super friendly staff! Was a great experience and enjoyed the food and customer service. If you want to sit near the river you just need to be mindful of crossing the road safely as there is no zebra crossing or traffic lights. If your going in a group you can pre order too which is super handy. The staff were super kind and patient which is what you want to help have a good experience.

Had a great experience and time at The Red Lion. The manager was at the door and asked what type of atmosphere we wanted seating by the pub or more relaxed setting in a quiet part of the pub. We picked the later. The setting was very well lit, clean and had the perfect vibe for a family supper. Victor, the head waiter served us and he was spot on. Really top service from him. Extremely friendly, professional and helpful. We ordered the châteaubriand done medium and the got it done perfectly a delicious cut of meat paired with the black pepper sauce and aioli it really complimented the meat flavours well, the onion rings were light, crispy and well seasoned and potato chips had a good crust and fluffy on the inside. The burger was delicious, patty was done medium and they again the chef cooked it to perfection. The burger is up there with the best I have had. Portion sizes were good and everyone was extremely happy. Compliments to the chef and staff again. Some photos below. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Absolutely wonderful pub. Thank you to Ebony who is a fabulous server. The staff are really professional here and the food is suberb. New chef since last year I think and a big improvement. We had the feta salad, a lamb dish, chicken wings, prawns, aubergine and flat bread. The salad, aubergine and lamb dishes were all absolutely delicious. The river seating location is wonderful. It's just great to see how the Red Lion is attracting new customers whilst also having locals at the bar. Sitying by the river is also really special in the summer.

Not eaten here yet so can't rate the food, but no reason to think it's not great. Love this place, they have a handy mooring area next to their beer garden to tie up a boat after a trip on the Thames which we frequently make use of. Beer garden is over the road from the main pub so care is required when crossing with an arm full of drinks or shepherding kids. There is a little bar actually in the beer garden which is handy when open. Layout of the pub is really cool with a covered outside courtyard, separate snugs and a bar/restaurant area. Really does cater for all. Can't wait to be back. Small car park attached.

We spent a lovely long lunch. 6 adults 3 wee people The pub was very busy but it didn't affect anything. We had top notch service, delicious food and the atmosphere was amazing for a Saturday afternoon. We had the best time. Only two people serving when we arrived , both run ragged but they couldn't do enough to make sure we had a great time We will be back. Nanny B rates you 10/10... thanks

I highly recommend this pub, atmosphere, food and service is excellent. Staff went out of their way to ensure seating arrangements were perfect, and the manager and staff even offered to change the table and stools to make it more comfortable for my mum. Roast dinner was delicious, and service was fast, even though they were busy. Will definitely be going back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Title: "Riverside Delight with a Cheesy Twist" - ★★★★☆ (4/5) Our Sunday visit to The Red Lion was quite an adventure! This place has got an absolutely wonderful view of the River Thames. Sitting there, with the Thames stretching out before us, was a joy we could relish for hours on end. Now, the staff were quite attentive for the most part. Sure, they did forget about our bill at the end of the meal, but we reminded them, and they were super grateful. It's one of those little human moments, isn't it? We all forget things from time to time. As for the food - oh, the food was fantastic! We had two excellent beef roasts, a chicken burger that was just spot on, and Moroccan lamb that I can still taste if I close my eyes. It was a delightful spread that left us content and satiated. However, there was a bit of a cheesy confusion. I ordered a 'burrata,' expecting a whole ball of creamy cheese. Instead, I got a plate with a slice of toast topped with tomatoes, prosciutto, and a thin layer of burrata. It was more of a bruschetta situation rather than a true burrata. I mentioned this to the staff, and they insisted that this was their interpretation of a burrata. They even said that burrata and bruschetta could be used interchangeably. Now, that was a bit perplexing, as burrata is a cheese and bruschetta is an appetizer - they're not exactly swap-able. After we got home, I checked their website and the dish was listed as 'prosciutto.' Makes sense, but they could definitely update their menus to avoid such cheesy mix-ups in the future. I mean, £12.70 for a 'burrata' that was more like a bruschetta is a tad steep, don't you think? All in all, we had a really good time at The Red Lion. The view, the food, and the mostly attentive service made it a lovely outing. We're taking away a star for the 'burrata-bruschetta' mix-up, but other than that, everything was perfect. We're definitely coming back, and hopefully, next time will be a flawless five-star affair!

Lovely setting on the riverside, with fantastic food and service. I would like to point out that the prawns were not deveined, which we would usually prefer, and we decided to send them back. This was understood by the staff, and other than this I really couldn’t fault anything else. There is a boat hire service available that we would love to try in the summer. Prices online seem reasonable, and I’m sure you could stock up with food/ drinks from the pub for onboard. We will be back again.

Delicious meal for 4. We had a mixture of seafood and meat dishes and all were excellent. The lamb was cooked in a Sous vide giving it incredible tender juicyness. Cannot recommend highly enough. Very nice environment - tasteful decor and photography hanging on the walls. We were treated to mostly reggae on the speakers all evening which was fine by me 👍 Beavertown on tap 👌 Deep sea mussels were very impressive (but apparently not always on the menu). Good parking but imagine it goes quickly when they are busy. Give them a go!

Super friendly locals pub. Excellent food and very good service. Usual selection of beers and wines. First visit. Table of 5 with advanced booking. We tried a wide selection across the menu and all dishes were very well done. We were really well looked after on the Friday before Christmas. A very merry atmosphere.

One of the best pub roasts I’ve ever had…and I’ve had a lot of them! Excellent amount of crackling on pork belly which had a good crunch but not so much it hurts your teeth. Excellent Yorkshire and the veg was almost the best part! I’ve never had celeriac like it, just delicious! Beautiful pub and great atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful Thursday lunch here this week. Sean really looked after us and even allowed us to bring dessert to finish by the river. Really went over and above, but not intrusive in serving us. Food was gorgeous - try the cabbage and bacon, I could just have a bowl of that for a meal! Never thought to take pictures, but highly recommend. Only an hour from south London.

Nice big place with few different areas inside and out, there were 9 of us and most of us enjoyed our food, apart from the one that got the cod. Staff were all excellent, even the one that declared that he makes brilliant Irish coffees, which sadly were really disappointing.

Great service, flexible, friendly, good food and lovely spot by the river. Happy with dogs and kids but also nice romantic vibe for couples. Dangerous road, they can't help that but be aware with dogs and children. Looking forward to next visit.

Phenomenal for a Sunday roast. We got a cute little 6 seater private room to sit in outside. I had the lamb rump which was beautifully tender, some crisp roast potatoes and veggies with of course a Yorkie. They also have seating right by the river for a great view and the service was attentive and friendly!

Visited The Red Lion for the first time for a double birthday celebration. Fantastic communication about the overall booking and about the food. We had to make several last minute changes, but nothing was too much trouble for the brilliant team at The Red Lion and they accommodated us throughout our whole visit. Thank you so much to the staff who looked after us on the day, you are real a credit to your establishment. The decor and ambience was warm and welcoming, the service was amazing and the food was beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. So glad we decided to have our celebration here, we will definitely be back 😊

😠 This is about Squire's cafe rather than the garden centre. In a word, appalling. As instructed by the sign at the entrance I waited to be shown to a table.
