Bar Cicchetti Boston

Bar and grill

😠 Not recommended for lunch, and may not be worth it to try again for after work drinks or dinner. 48 minutes from sitting down to getting food on a weekday. Flavors aren’t anything special compared to the gorgeous photos online. Ordered the pasta and it was plain with watery, flavorless sauce. Caesar... Not recommended for lunch, and may not be worth it to try again for after work drinks or dinner. 48 minutes from sitting down to getting food on a weekday. Flavors aren’t anything special compared to the gorgeous photos online. Ordered the pasta and it was plain with watery, flavorless sauce. Caesar salad side felt like an after thought. One server and bartender, making it challenging to complain about the slow service, but it was empty. I was the fourth table that came in. Someone who came after me got their chicken wings before I got my overcooked pasta. Great looking location, but no hospitality. Asked for my check to leave and was tempted to tell the new diners to leave. Over 70 minute ‘lunch’ that was definitely not worth $50 or my time. It’s your stereotypical bad hotel restaurant. I mentioned the long wait to the manager, and the manager replied they only had one chef. They offered to check on what happened, and I never saw them again.

This place just opened under the Hyatt hotel! Definitely surprised us with the food and drinks for being a “hotel restaurant”!! The food was amazing! We loved all of the dishes we got. The steak was amazing and the sauce was perfection - a little weird that it was priced as MP I’ve never seen that for steak - but worth the $45! The tutte pizza was delicious and crispy. I would skip the octopus next time, it was probably the only disappointing dish. Cocktail options could be improved on however the drinks we got we loved. I wish they would add more tequila cocktails (as their only one was really bad we ended up changing it out) all other ones we got were great! I would really recommend the mezcal with za’atar drink it was very interesting and delicious. Their dirty martinis were also very well made, extra dirty!!

A nice tranquil escape from the bustling Downtown with decent food and great service. Recently came here for dinner after work. Though it might not be the first choice for many people given its hotel locale, this place is a great spot for those seeking a dinner in a relaxed setting or a swift post-work tipple. From the appetizers, I got the half dozen oysters and the crab cake. Oysters were standard Dubxury oysters served with cocktail sauce and vinaigrette. With so many dollar oyster specials in the area, they were a tad underwhelming, so unless you’re craving them, these might be worth a skip. On the other hand, crab cakes felt like a steal for the price — two crispy chunks with a succulent and creamy interior. A generous smear of green harissa tartare coupled with pickled onions introduced a zesty twist, enhancing the cakes' flavors manifold. For the entrée, I had the steak frites, and it was okay. While the sirloin stood out with its enhanced flavors from the herb garlic butter and pink peppercorn demi-glace, the accompanying fries lacked crispness. However, considering its price and the standards of a 4-star hotel establishment, it was as expected. Overall, a satisfactory dining experienced backed by friendly service and good food. If you’re looking for a place in Downtown with an elevated yet casual meal or drink, I would recommend checking this place out.

Can’t believe I only just went for the first time! Such a cool little hidden gem downtown. The bartender was amazing - we went off menu and had him and whip up some drinks based on what we like and they were SO good. Don’t skip the bread service, it was delicious and unique. The menu has great variety and everyone enjoyed their meals. Also amazing service!

This has to be one of my new favorite restaurants and by far the best service. The food is out of this world and everything is made in-house. There is a wide selection for those that are more adventurous to those that are on the pickier side. That staff is really what rounds out this experience. Everyone is attentive but not overly so. Christian was truly wonderful. Highly recommend this new favorite.

Always fabulous little bar and restaurant hidden away on Devonshire. Food is consistently great. Tender steak, fat pork chops with crispy fingerling potatoes, chicken tacos that are out of this world, tasty grilled chicken sandwiches, huge portions and more. Great, friendly service, and low key atmosphere. We’re from NYC and this ranks well with any top NY restaurant. 😍

I had an amazing experience here and the best part of it was the bartender tonight with the beard. My boyfriend and I came in at 6pm and we got a couple drinks and the focaccia bread. Then he got the steak and I got the bolognese. All of the food was beyond incredible and the service from the bartender and the conversation and recommendations from him took the experience from excellent to exceptional. This place deserves higher than its current google rating and I think everyone should go here.

While the food and atmosphere wowed, the service and management of this establishment was extremely disappointing. After making a reservation about an hour ahead of time (on a Saturday night) I was at first very pleased with how accommodating the FOH was. However, about halfway through our meal, I realized that a very, VERY large party was waiting for me and my wife to get up in order for their party to be accommodated (we were seated in the middle table of a 3 table section). For the entirety of our meal, we had a large party standing right next to us, chatting loudly and staring at us, waiting for us to finish our meal. The server also seemed forceful on getting us out of the restaurant. Now, I am a restaurant manager, and the last thing I want when enjoying a meal is to have people standing over us waiting for our meal to finish. In addition, once we were ready to leave, we had to go up to the bar to retrieve and pay our bill. In short, your kitchen staff needs a raise and your FOH staff needs a major wake up call. Would eat here again for the food, but not the service.

Good food - hotel price, not always flavorful, large portions. Cool atmosphere, and attentive service. French toast are really good. The side of berry is a good choice too. OK coffee, omlette, and avocado toast. Big servings. Note: one day we waited 40 minutes for the food but the next day was normal. Service was on point both times.

The drink were great. The bartender was good as well. The food is where it lost me. The gnocchi was over cooked. The pizza I ordered was pretty bad. I went here based on reviews and was let down.

Came in last night for a few drinks last night with my wife and we had a fantastic meal at the bar and the drinks were amazing. We are staying at the Devonshire Hotel and figured we would the restaurant a try. We were not disappointed! The bartender Joanne was very friendly and attentive. The drinks she made for us were excellent. When we come back to Boston, we will surely be back.

Great layout, delicious food, good wine list, friendly service. I went with a friend and our experience was enhanced by our wonderful server, Miguel. The only drawback, for us, was the music: pop and techno, more like a hair salon than an Italian bistro. 5 stars anyway.

My wife and I had not visited this restaurant before, but we will definitely be back. Food, service (thank you, Chuck) and atmosphere were all great. I had the Chicken Thigh Marsala and my wife had the Cauliflower Steak - both were excellent. The Limoncello cake for dessert was outstanding! Thank you to all at Bar Cicchetti for a great night!

I would really like this place to survive. It's close to my office & the atmosphere is decent. I can't tell if the people running it care if it survives because of some of the basic, obvious things they miss. The menu is rather basic. Food leaves an absolute ton to be desired. Not having iced tea is odd. Portions are small. Last two lunch meals I've ordered in the last 4 weeks were a salad (remarkably unimpressive & small) and what I thought would be safe today - a burger (insanely overcooked & small). It shouldn't be too hard to figure out what works (look at Bostonia) - consistently solid food, somewhat diverse menu, but not too complicated, decent service. I'm thinking there are quite a few people in town who would enjoy an alternative. This has a long way to go. Hope the review helps improve enough to keep it in business.

Amazing experience for my birthday dinner! The food was fabulous and the service was unrivaled. Even with a busy night, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be going back!
