👍👍 Was great, Kathy, your husband probably forced opned some clams, a big don't do. Been there thousands of times, never got sick. And according to their web sight good possibility of opening up at a new location, so yes, they care what they serve. Do some homework before trying to trash a restetaunt. People often mention great, meal,

Gordon Ramsay please help this place. I am leery of restaurants with photos of dead people posted on the wall. Pier 4 has not been updated in years: bathrooms poor condition, my arm chair was broken, and I even saw tears in furniture in sitting areas. The food was overpriced and overall uninspired. My lobster was served cold, beans and potatoes were not properly seasoned, though my fish chowder was good. Some staff are friendly while other uninterested. Their uniforms were comical. Bartenders wearing red coats while others donned white coats with nautical themed embellishments. I felt sorry for them. Overall, this relic is dated, overpriced, and lacking in quality control. If you are from out of town and visiting, I would choose another restaurant.

Clearly past its prime as a restaurant, this is an old school Boston landmark. The staff also clearly still pride themselves on serving a very tasty meal. The scallops were succulent, Ipswich clams perfectly and lightly fried, the Halibut, Salmon above average. The view is still great, the food is still great, and although the place is stuck in 1979, its still a great meal at a reasonable price.

Absolutely the worst meal I have had in a long time. The cutlery looked as if it was procured around teh time that the dead people in the photo wall where young... The clam chowder was made with flour that was not fully cooked The Scallops had some reduction over it, and it tasted really bad The Ratattoille was total mush, not a single vegitable in the concoction had any texture, everything in it could have been put through a sieve without any pressure The decor is old and materials are past its age and needs to be replaced I know I will NEVER go eat there again!!! The only redeaming factor was - they refunded me everything I sent back (So I essencially only paid for my wine)

My husband and I arrived in Boston on July 4th. We flew in from Indianapolis specifically for the fireworks and Boston Pops. We decided to eat lunch at Anthony's, not knowing it's iconic status. We were starved and it was one of the first restaurants we came across. My husband had the Clambake. It was the only meal we'd had that day. We went on to enjoy the Boston Pops 4th celebration, but my husband became deathly ill and was vomiting before the fireworks had started. EMTs took us to the medical tent..then transported us by ambulance to a nearby hospital. My husband was diagnosed with food poisoning..We read in the Globe 2 days later that the restaurant will be closing in August. Sounds like they just don't care about the quality of their food in their final days. So thanks to some bad clams, our fun day had a very scary and very expensive conclusion. I guess the only thing that would have made it worse would have been if we had both eaten the same meal.

In 1978, I was evaluating NorthEastern university for Undergrad studies. My treat in the trip was to go to this great restaurant! I fully enjoyed a fabulous dining experience! Have Traveled thru Europe and lived in NYC for 15 years. Still long for Anthony’s. So sorry it is no more

I am not sure why all the bad reviews. Went here on Friday night and had a great meal! The atmosphere was awesome and the food was amazing. The service was outstanding. Will definitely be going back soon!

nice ambiance and fairly standard service for restaurants in this price range; food was okay but could would go elsewhere if in the area. however, the pier is a fantastic date location and the view is hard to beat.
