I work at the inn. It’s been one of the best jobs I have ever had. We strive to make everyone’s experience a good one. That being said, if there is something that you don’t approve of or dislike in our customer service or food, please let us know ASAP in person or through an email. Writing a bad review on Google or yelp is not really going to change how we do our business. If you talk to us face to face we will be very receptive and respectful to your concerns. An email describing your sub par experience is more helpful than giving little to no stars on this review platform. I promise, we really care about your experience and hope to make it a better one if you let us know. Just call us, email, or stop by and we can talk.

If you need a fancy dinner or date spot near boulder this is your spot. If you need a chill mountain biergarten this is your spot. If you need some fun dancing on the weekends this is your spot. The Gold Hill Inn serves many purposes and all of them are a great time and well worth the short drive into the mountains to experience.

I attended a wedding there. Excellent food, service and staff. Very rustic, a reminder of yesteryears! The hotel is updated but yet it's preserved beautifully. At the restaurant next door, they have live music every weekend. Great atmosphere, the house Ginger beer is a must have and the smoked salmon is to die for!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Gold Hill Inn, a hidden gem tucked up the canyon that offers a unique and nostalgic experience. The drive up is quite an adventure, winding through picturesque scenery, making you feel like you've been transported back in time. The main reason for my visit was to catch some live music, and I must say, it was nothing short of fantastic. The remote location and intimate setting of the Gold Hill Inn created an atmosphere that was truly magical. Being surrounded by nature while enjoying live music was a memorable experience. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was the diversity of the bar menu. Alongside the typical Colorado mix of beverages, they also had a variety of non-alcoholic options. It's a thoughtful touch that ensures everyone can enjoy a refreshing drink while taking in the music. The dance floor added an extra layer of fun to the evening. It's not often you get the chance to get up close and dance to live music in such an intimate setting. The $15 cover charge felt like a steal for the quality of entertainment and overall experience. In summary, the Gold Hill Inn offers a unique journey up the canyon to a remote and picturesque setting that feels like a blast from the past. The live music is fantastic, the bar menu is diverse, and the opportunity to dance and get up close to the performers makes it a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a memorable night out.

The Gold Hill Inn is a wonderful musical experience if you’re seeing high energy bluegrass in the Inn. There are issues though. The food is truly not great. It’s under seasoned and often either over or under cooked. The “hostess” is more of a bouncer, and if she hasn’t known you since you were a toddler, she’ll treat you like you’re an issue. I love the biergarten, but it’s a bummer that music in the Inn kind of takes a backseat to that, because the atmosphere is so much better in the Inn. I feel like a lot of issues are overlooked because it’s such a unique experience. Become a regular, and you start seeing what’s a bummer

Great dinner, great service and great atmosphere. Be aware that if you want to eat outside while listening to music you must have a table and those are first come first served. You can make reservations for the dinner inside though.

Absolutely Delicious! Everything: Beverages (gotta try the Ginger Beer--NA and fabulous!) to the entree and dessert! Staff is informed and cool/patient and service is 10 stars! We celebrated our wedding anniversary in the Rockies and dined with friends later in our trip! So so good! "Far Out!" and worth the drive!

We had the six course dinner which is very inexpensive for what you get. Their fresh warm bread before dinner is just divine. And if it's a beautiful rustic old place. The drive has beautiful views of the front range and then down into Boulder. No background music in the restaurant so you can actually hear each other talk!

Gold Hill Inn is worth the scenic drive for special occasion dining, listening to music and to just get out of town for a step back in time. Make reservations! We ordered the 3 course meal, though we were tempted to go with the 6 course. It was a lot of food and everyone left full. Bonus - if you have food allergies, make sure to tell the server and they’ll accommodate and/or recommend dishes for you.

Food was amazing, we had an early dinner seating. Only caught a bit of the band in the front room. Whole ambience of Gold Hill is nostalgic Americana and this restaurant is part of that. Wine selection was also decent.

The place itself is neat. But the food was severely lacking. I had the salmon which was too rare, almost raw (might have been raw) and had tons of bones in it. I swallowed a few bones and then had to chew a million times to make sure I pulled any others out - my two friends had the trout which was also littered with bones. I didn't feel comfortable eating the rest of my meal. Portions are also small which would be fine if the food was higher quality. You get one baby potato with your protein which is just odd. The cheese and fruit option was just 3 crackers, a few grapes and a few pieces of cheese. Overall not worth the drive. Very disappointing meal.

The only reason this place gets even two stars is because the atmosphere is great and people are nice, but the food was downright *awful*. It's set up to be all fancy but the chef or whomever picked the recipes need to be replaced immediately. The food was actually disgusting, completely weird and awful flavor combinations. DO NOT EAT HERE.

One of my favorite places to eat and take visitors to locally, the Gold Hill Inn is a wonderful local gem that I always recommend. The ambiance and experience is the best part, but I often come for music on the weekends and great cocktails at the bar made with local and seasonal ingredients. The 3 and 6 course meals are wonderful and their service is excellent. As a vegan, I’m grateful that they always have a vegan option but heads-up, you have to request in advance. Thank you to the wonderful people at Gold Hill for always creating a beautiful experience.

This place is so cool. Absolutely love the atmosphere. On top of that; the owner and employees went above and beyond to help us when our car got stuck in the snow. I am forever grateful for this place and I cannot wait to come back in the summer! Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. ❤️

A gem. I’m so happy every time I get to go here. Amazing staff. Great dinner. Live music if you are lucky.

Such a gem in the mountains! Had a delicious 6 course dinner and everything was perfect. Highly recommend.

The food is decent. We had the lamb, stuffed trout, and mahi mahi (3 or 6- course meal). But you go here for the ambiance - to time-travel back to long cabins and frontier life. And the bar pours a great drink and the live music is usually pretty good. Reservations are a good idea on weekends And if you want a special treat, go for the 4th of july parade in town, then the music festival and grilled chicken lunch.

Really fun vibe/atmosphere inside! The bread and butter/jam served before our meal was absolutely delicious. The Ukrainian soup for the appetizer was really different but really good. I got mahi mahi for the main and it was decent, but not my favorite. They had a selection of 5 different desserts to choose from which was cool!

Pretty ordinary after all the hype. We had their 6 course dinner and were pretty underwhelmed. For $45 per person they definitely did not meet our expectations. Nothing wrong with it and the waitstaff were very good. I have had much better experiences for far less $$$

the drive and historic ambience sets the tone for this place. had the 6 course dinner, entrees were a bit of disappointment. lacked flavor, had the Ono and was very dry. Lamb was ok but again nothing to add flavor. 5 out of 6 ain't bad, it's good enough to make the 2 hour drive to eat there again. beautiful little town.

Walking into the Inn felt like taking a step back in time. We had the six course meal and the food was great. You can't beat the price. The staff took good care of us. Well worth the drive up the canyon from Boulder and I'm keeping this on the list of interesting places to bring out of town guests.

We love the Gold Hill Inn! We are locals and have visited many times, for live music and for the food. The atmosphere can't be beat. It's the real thing -- wooden floor, ceiling beams, decor, and roaring fire -- but not stale, dusty, or smoky-smelling like some historic buildings can be. And we have really enjoyed the excellent lively bluegrass bands that play here. During the pandemic, our favorite ways to enjoy the Inn have been hanging out in the beer garden for live music and their delicious food, and ordering food to go. While their usual service is available, with 3- and 6-course meals in the indoor dining room and a la carte food in the bar area, we are more comfortable keeping our masks on while waiting for the food either in the less crowded bar area or outside, and taking it home. It's worth the wait. The highlight of the food at the Inn is the amazing selection of vegetables! They regularly serve three different vegetable dishes (and you get some of each!) Usually one is a really special pickled purple cabbage, one is mashed sweet potatoes, and one is a seasonal green vegetable. All are always delicious. They also regularly have one of the best gluten-free breads I've tried anywhere, with fresh homemade strawberry preserves. Their meat options are just ok. The best in our opinion are the bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin and the fish (lightly smoked trout with celery butter is a regular option, and the salmon is also nice, and available seasonally). We wouldn't recommend the lamb or the chicken, which tend to be bland to our taste, but they are not bad either. Finally, kudos to the Inn for using paper take-out containers! The take-out is lovely, but we can't wait to be back in person, especially for our wedding next summer...

On Thanksgiving day l was part of a group at the restaurant. 2 people in the group were gluten and dairy free. Our server went above and beyond to make sure we were protected from gluten and dairy. The kitchen even made grape soup (which was very good) for us !! They had gluten- free stuffing!! Talked with Chris, who is the Chef, about the buffet entrees. All items, except the stuffing, were gluten-free. Such a great experience in spite of our food restrictions!!

👍 We wanted Indian and all the other places in the area don't open until 5pm so we gave this place a shot. It is a food truck and there is no seating outside so you have to take it to go or eat in your car (which we did). They were so friendly and welcoming! Very nice people. The prices were the same...
